i dont really care if bhop did peds. he probably needs it just to break into avg athleticism. ill give him a slight pass for that.
anyone read duva comments. does this also apply to Bhop since he is part owner of GBP?
not wanted the company to lose money from cancelled fight?
Doesn't ggg have his own promotion? Loeffler license is tied to k2 or something like that but there is no current ties between ggg and k2?
If he's getting a fighters purse and some kind of ceo share from the promoters share, he might even be making more money than we think.
like you said, timing is key. maybe he ducked one guy or two legitly one time or another but no one can ever really know. the book his assistant put out really portrays his hectic ass life. as volatile mayweather is, anything is truly possible.
He also has like some little man syndrome or something. if someone say something to him, he answers back real defensive but it comes out very childish. interviewer can be like will you fight so and so, he says he wants it and he will beat you. then mayweather should say something decisive and hype up the fight or dismiss it like the guy is a chump. instead we hear **** like im tbe, #1ppv, he got so and so problems, im a boss. this **** is like when youre in grade school and you step to someone and he goes omg your breath stinks and then riles up all his buddies and cracks on your shoes, clothes, or whatever. you know the ***** didn't want it.
the best thing we can hope for is that mayweather really ****s on Ellerbe or someone else in his entourage and they come out with a real tell all book.
why everyone being so specific? im assuming op means outfighting and sure i agree. devon lost because he is one dimension outboxer who couldnt muscle his way in or do the infighting that would destroy khan. khan is at the top of the game in terms of outboxing but he too is also one dimension so a strong brave infighter will give him troubles if not destroy him.
i favor marcos over thurman. marcos is a tried and true bamf. marcos has gone against guys who could and was expected to ktfo marcos but he still went forward and got his in before they did. i see this fight to go exactly like that and it will be entertaining as fawke. marcos experience with better proven outboxing from alexander, khan, mayweather will pressure this up and comer to fighting a marcos fight.
it sounds like people are pissed because they think klitsch is holding the hw belt hostage. i think the general consensus is america is the best and all other countries is second rate in terms of money and fame. maybe its true but surely it doesnt have to be. maybe on some boxing forum in russia or england, people are mad because so and so only fight in oakland or vegas or new york or whatever. just chalk it up to haters be hatin.
klitschko doing his thing, not giving a ****. he the champ, he national treasure of russia, he makin money, etc. hes the mayweather of russia.
if klitsch has to come to the challenger, then as the champ he is being punked. if i was to make a boatload of money, that small blow to my pride is nothing. but i cant comprehend how a fight in vegas could be more lucrative to him rather than his home country where cities are probably throwing money at him to fight in their arena.
in the grand scheme of things, khan is at a good point in his career. he debuted, he won, he got hyped, his name got thrown around some big names. he lost. he shows resilience in coming back and (at least for now) making me believe that he could still be high caliber fighter. maybe its because they both had roach as a trainer but his style looks like a taller right hander pacquiao of today with the mindset of featherweight pacquiao in terms of attack attack attack but everyone knows damn well his chin cannot handle that type of fight. hopefully age and experience and maybe his weight progression will allow him to make adjustments and get over the weak chin.
at this stage, hes just another strong up and comer who Floyd has to put in his place. if he beats brook, he would be THE guy to face.
everyone's going hard on their opinions. 0-100 real quick.
khan out boxing is better than keith but keith power attack is better than khans. if keith decide to strictly outbox khan only, khan will win. but obviously hes not going to do that. the point is merely that in outbox style khan is better than keith. and so yes, thurman can learn a little something. and likewise yes, khan could learn a little of how to fight vs a strong attacker from keith. although the only thing khan needs to be great is a chin and he cant learn that.
lara not bad. im still awake. this guy needs 3-4 punches per exchange instead of just 12 and this guy could be hyped up to be the next best thing. maybe if there are more people in the audience, we wont hear his sharapova left hand grunt. bustin a nut all night long with that straight left.
sounds like this rigo is in a catch22. i agree no one wants to face him but it is rigo and his team's responsibility to perform and make moves to make it so big names cannot avoid him.
the general consensus is he is boring, bring no money, and is too high risk/low reward. he can sell out his outboxing and do brawling and that will make him more exciting but can he really do that at his age and would that affect his godlike boxing to be a more basic slugger.
the way i see rigo is a winning mindset in every aspect of boxing. ideal weight class, win with his best assets even at the cost of entertainment, etc. While he does put himself in position to win every boxing match, he loses in the entertainment aspect. He does not have a style to cater to both so he will have to choose one.
example - mayweather has a winning boxing style and an entertaining outside ring persona. pacquiao has an entertaining boxing style that wins.
have you guys seen al haymon's standard contract? regardless of how good or bad the matches he puts on, the boxer is practically a slave from the moment he signs with haymon. he giving these boxers these big paydays with **** opponents because it adds at least 2 years to their contract every time. he has the ability, backed by the law, to use up these fighters and throw them away at will.
now if your scenario is this:
al haymon will be the new big show and all relevant fighters will be fighting in his league or whatever. he got them all on his advisor contract and he force the best to fight the best every single fight, forget the tuneups, not to mention he can pay them ANYTHING, the big paydays are needed only to extend the contract. so he has his big league of fighters always fighting the best, he using fighters best prime years and then move on to the next one and hes paying them minimum wage because he LEGALLY CAN. thats the most blatant butt**** in boxing i can think of. but ok sure, i will give you that as fans, as long as we dont care about the boxers, then we are getting the good ****, good entertainment, good fights, and hopefully we can get all this on abc, fox, cbs , nbc or whatever.
The Great thing about boxing is that you can change fans opinions rather quickly.
Quillin grows a pair fight GGG and he gets some respect, even if he loses I think most LOGICAL and MATURE fans would still give him credit for finally stepping up.
Haymon did not tarnish anybody career, they're the ones picking and choosing, Haymon is being blamed for some of these fighters BS. Leo Santa Cruz and others have mentioned that Haymon give them options and them and their team are the ones who choose who they want to fight
Matthysse was approached about fight Broner, he wasn't interested, Maidana was offered Thurman, he wasn't interested, Leo Santa Cruz all he has to do is give the word to Al Haymon that he wants Rigondeaux and I guarantee that fight gets done as well.
Quillin and others are taking advantage of and HIDING BEHIND Haymon's Power! For Danny it is Angel making decisions as far as who they fight, for Stevenson it is Yvon Michel who is Stevenson PROMOTER!
I agree with this actually. Fighters are the cause. They are *****ing out for that money. And as for boxers saying Al chooses the fight for them, well i say to the wifey every time that my dog Rico was the one who farted. He cant talk so he wont say no, it was him, not me.
So the story says usada comes. He dehydrated as fawk, calls paramedic to do iv, waits for the iv to work so they can get the pee.
So before the iv they couldn't even get pee? Do they only test blood then or can you even take blood from severe dehydrated man?
See here is the problem, you are ****ing stupid. You dont get that USADA's reason for granting the TUE for the IV was the Froid couldn't' give a sample. But they also say that he was tested before and after the IV. If he couldn't' give a sample then he couldn't have been tested before the IV. USADA is coming up with stories to explain away each accusation but these stories are inconsistent with each other.
also, they say they took a before and after pee test but nsac stated both fighters gave 11 samples of pee and 8 blood. do they count those tests as May1a and May1b? Maybe they meant Floyd got 12 pee test?
why do people judge pac as if hes on the same level as mayweather? at this point in time, its clear hes not.
this matchup is a fail. if pac destroys him, he cherrypicked. if the algieri boxer style gives him problems, even if he wins, he loses.
while i like the idea of one big boxing boss, is al haymon that dude? so far, hes done his job as advisor very well (high reward low risk fights). if he becomes the dana white of boxing, how does that affect his advisor status? Will his promotion affect his advisorship of his fighters fighting salkas for massive money?
first off, did duva contact gpb or bhops personal team?
if gpb, then these tweets are irrelevent. lets keep it moving.
if she contact bhops personal team, then what exactly is going on?
its funny the pac fans think this is a good fight and pac will have problems because of the style. but the naysayers are like gtfo this is going to be a blowout. they have more confidence than the fans.
regardless of how decent/meh this fight is, id rather see him fight someone else at this stage of his career.
Boxers should be the only ones allows to say this health comes first ****. Boxers and promoters and everyone else in the are looking out for themselves and there's nothing wrong with that. Then as a fan there should be nothing wrong with me wanting Corrales Castillo type fights or fights not ending in Sucker punches.
im not really mad at chino for taking the money. im sure at the end of the day, he feels he and his family are better off with his choice. but the fact that this deal even happened means his credibility is shot as well as mayweather. Whats next? 500k - jab, 1mil - right straight, 1.5mil - no blocking, 2mil - no body shots, 5mil - try to plant a long range kiss during fight?
now this may be because im high as hell, but looking back on past fights, this thing we call boxing is all jumbled for me. What if Roy Jones got paid to no blocking so he tried to dodge every hit? What if pacquiao was paid to not do combos exceeding 3 punches during first 1:30 of each round? What if ali was paid not to finish foreman until near the end of the fight? These sound pretty stupid but why cant it be possible? Boxing is choreographed.
this dude definitely ran. did you see the crazy jukes and feints and ankle breakers he put on canelo? he did only to get by him and run some more. if he did those moves and punched after, thats good outboxing. instead he did those fakeouts only to move more, do more fake outs, throw a jab, move and fake out some more. thats running to me.
"Our two biggest cash cows literally hit it/mainstream big after beating another cash cow."
You just said it. Why would Mayweather or anyone else purposely risk their status so some up and comer can topple them? It didnt work out for the people they beat so they know first hand how it goes. Is there even anyone in welterweight being built up to be a star like the way Canelo or GGG is? Theres no one worthy yet. One thing I think Mayweather does is he fights these young fighters early. By early i mean, before they make it huge or get enough exp to be a threat, popularity or skillwise. He will never fight anyone who can compete skillwise or negotiation wise because hes beating them before they get big.
i think hes got a point. it is not such a strange request for mayweather to say ok do this and this and this and this. but at the same time pacquiao isnt exactly rod salka on the negotiating table so this type of request = no, and you have to expect that. otherwise, you can just make up any **** (must fight not in trunks but in vs thongs and seriously who would say yes to that?) and then blame it on the other guy saying no and then it means he dont wanna fight. well if he really wanted the fight he would choose the pink ones right?
are u serious?
are you serious?
please, do me a favor and ignore me like i ignore u. thank u.
damn lol anyone else think this was headed for a ggg reference?
I think Mayweather gimped himself. He's so particular with who he fights and negotiations and that you cant really tell if he completely outclassed the guy or just got boosted by some advantages. I think he wins versus many simply because he is pretty damn good now and hes not even truely tested. at least not lately.
tldr, he cherry picks. if he fought a legit threat, he will rise to the occasion. all atgs do.
lol i guess no one likes to say good things about mayweather without balancing out with something bad and maybe witty.
if he beat him today at his age, he TBE but he wont take the fight, he will ask for crazy demands, pull out at the day of the fight, etc.
Who cares? Until Floyd loses, you cant exactly say he doing something wrong because its obviously working for him. It his gym, his rules. If someone else was paying his bills then sure.
Also, the dudes in that gym are grown ass men. their actions are only on them. If they want to get their ass beat in order to make an impression on Floyd who can affect their career, then why not? who knows, maybe jleon love destroyed ppls in that doghouse and he ended up undercard of mayweather fights. If you a fighter and you hungry, who would say no to this type of sparring?
the older brother pulled a ***** move though. he wasnt trying to get revenge on another day. it had to be right then and there.
this probably not what people want to hear but what would floyd do? He runs, clinches, fights, fouls, etc. Point is that he does it all. Not one tactic 24/7 which in the case of clinching is what warrants a *** stamp on your lower back. Clinch all the time and thats some one-dimension defense tactic as well. Do a little of all tactics no matter how gay = multi faceted skill.
