Bam vs Nakatani.

Why is it that Nakatanis name is never mentioned when it comes to Bam? Nakatani was clearly Inoue closest fight....and considered the best out of all to give Inoue a loss. Wouldnt Nakatani be the obvious final test for Bam if he needs a final tune up?

Dave Allen: For years I've always thought Agit Kabayel would KO Usyk! I'd fight Rico next if he wants it!

31:00 Dave Allen reflects on his fight with Hrgovic, disappointed that it was stopped early by his coach Jaime Moore. Later he says Agit Kabayel will stop Usyk because the style is all wrong for him. A belief he's maintained for several years. And Allen says he's ready to fight Rico asap. Next opponent revealed to be Viktor Chvarkou, with a record of 6 wins and only 33 losses. Fight takes place in around 3 weeks on June 20th. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTXzLKOB5To Who wins Rico vs Dave Allen if it happens?

Rico treated that midget bum like I always said people should do

Chin down, elbows in, March forward, weigh all over him, moshy bash him to the body then tie him up and stop him countering. It was the perfect big man gameplan, fury, AJ and Dubois are all idiots standing in the middle of the ring trying to have an amateur boxing match with the guy "put em up, put em up" Why they tried to have a tickling contest I'll never know, march forward and stick it on him Did you see Usyk in there "why is he attacking me? Why isn't he standing there letting me get off, what's happening, I didn't sign up for this" I know more about boxing than sugar walls steward and Robert garcia.

Strange Coincidence? Referee Mark Lyson who stopped Usyk vs Rico early, ALSO stopped Agit Kabayel's last fight early!?

In a weird coincidence, Mark Lyson was not only the ref for Usyk's last fight but he was actually the ref for Agit Kabayel's last fight and many thought he stopped the fight early against Kynba. That was in Round 3 and, like Rico, Kynba was still on his feet but, like Usyk, Kabayel was unleashing several unanswered shots which caused Lyson to jump in and stop the fight. https://x.com/MMArena_/status/2010106976081195320

Will Usyk even get credit for beating Kabayel

Everybody is trashing Usyk nowadays. But, we must be honest. Kabayels best win is Chisora. After that he beat Makhmudov, injured Sanchez and ancient Zhang. Usyk will beat this guy.

Only Heavyweights Get Exposed By Non-boxer Fighters

The boxing skill gap between a heavyweight boxer and a heavyweight non-boxer fighter is smaller than the gap that would be there in fights between their smaller counterparts Movement is key to boxing Smaller men move better than big men Movement opens up access to all of the boxing techniques the most skilled fighters ever were middleweight or smaller smaller men do 'boxing moves' at a far higher rate than the heavies deepest divisions all time: 147 > 135 > 160 > 126 There's a bias for smaller men when it comes to absolute boxing ability Bigger than middleweight and you begin to see a clear drop in capabilities

Usyks Chin Saved Him

He took some big flush shots on the jaw from a big puncher and never appeared stunned, whereas Rico was stunned several times in the fight from the medium power punches of Usyk. And that is the difference between elite heavyweights and why I think that AJ, Dubois, Kabayel, or Wardley would have no trouble defeating Rico, because at that level you have to be able to take a big punch or at least have the defense to avoid it.

Are people in shock or denial what has just commenced ?

Rico was boxing Usyk' ears off. Controller the pace, using angles, outboxing Usyk on all departments. The fight ended because the ref declared it so after the bell rang.

Rico was Usyk’s Leon Spinks/Buster Douglas moment, Usyk proved why he’s the GOAT

Ali was 36 when he lost to Spinks who only had 7 fights vs nobodies. Tyson was 23 when he lost to Douglas a 48-1 underdog. Usyk is 39. Rico had 1 fight but he had over 70 kickboxing fights at the elite level. There was no boxing footage of him so he surprised Usyk with a weird style. Yet an old Usyk still found a way to win by KO. Usyk showed why he’s the GOAT. He always finds a way to WIN.

Boxing owes Rico NOTHING. Lance Pugmire is a f***ing joke too.

Just read his awful article suggesting boxing somehow owe’s something to a 1-1 novice who just got paid multi-millions for a heavyweight title fight, he didn’t earn or merit. Boxing owes an Usyk fight to Agit Kabayel who earned it in the ring by beating three top contenders back to back. No more circus fights!

the problem with casual fans talking boxing

They literally had to stop the fight at 3.02 of the 11th round to save Usyk. idiots watching boxing think usyk knocking down rico in the 11th round and the ref stopping the fight after the bell in the 11th was the save usyk

Does Turkey HALAL Snake secretly hate boxing?

Think about it He ruined Fury vs AJ from happening when It would have been huge. ruined Canelos star power on a fight vs Crawford who then retired. Ruined Furys reputation Ruined Usyks reputation Joined up with Dana White who has been trying to kill boxing for 20 years Like, what POSITIVES has he actually done for boxing? Making Bertebiev vs Bivol is the only thing I can think of.

We are too harsh towards usyk

He fought a huge awkward guy, who is not even a boxer, but he is a kickboxer. Usyk is 39 old, he clearly overlooked the guy, but at the end of the day he won by a stoppage. Usyk will be in shape against Kabayel.

End all the drama. Usyk rightly won.

Usyk took his jaw. Even if ref let it go to 12th, Rico would have needed a knockout. After 10 based on judges 2 correctly had it a draw. It was a shit fight. Usyk looked shit, the other guy looked shit but everyone got hyped cause he landed a few decent shots and cause Usyk looked worse than normal. Usyk would have ended him in 12th regardless. If somehow Rico won 12th he would still have needed a knockout to win. No robbery. Ref could have let it go on, would it have changed the winner, no.

Can anybody explain this to me ...

Check out this video of Rico getting "robbed" last night, in particular, the interaction between the ref and Rico after he got up from the KD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTTLhl92nJg Compare that to what happened between AJ and the ref at the end of AJ's first fight with Andy Ruiz ... AJ got up after being decked and slumped in a corner with his arms on the ropes. And when the ref beckoned him to step forward, AJ stayed in the corner and looked down at his gumshield, which was lying on the canvas, to make the ref aware that it wasn't in his mouth. The ref then stopped the fight and said afterwards that he did that because AJ didn't step to him when beckoned forward. Rico is also slumped in a corner with his arms on the ropes, just like AJ was, but looking in worse shape than AJ. And when the ref beckons him forward, Rico stays in the corner, just like AJ did, and kind of bares his teeth, to show the ref his gumshield is out. So AJ and Usyk both stayed in the corner when the ref beckoned them forward, both trying to buy more time by getting their gumshields replaced, but one quit and the other got 20 secs extra recovery time. Can anybody tell me how that makes sense?

Some criticism of Usyk - from a fan

I’m a Usyk fan, but I’ve got a criticism I want to put out there. Usyk is a clear ATG, one of the best to ever do it, but I think he’s stayed on past the point he should have retired, and for the wrong reasons. He’s obviously nowhere near as good as he was, but that’s not really my criticism. My issue is with his motivation. He’s said many times that he doesn’t have motivation, just discipline. I believe him when he says it, but I really think you need both. Discipline alone might not be enough for the mindset this sport demands, and I think we saw that last night. I just watched his interview he did today and he said something along the lines of “this is a job now.” And listed other “more important” things in his life. So basically, he achieved everything he could after beating Fury the second time, then got one last burst of motivation to KO Dubois as the cherry on top. After that, all that’s left is discipline and money. Rico fight was purely that. I saw the same thing happen to Golovkin, though in his case it was even more obvious. Once he lost the second Canelo fight, he realised he should just see out his career earning as much as possible and treat it purely as a job, which is exactly what he did. He split with Abel, stayed good enough to beat who he needed to in order to get to the third Canelo fight, didn’t even look properly invested to win in that fight, but was clearly delighted to land that retirement payday. To me it looks like something similar might be happening with Usyk. He split with Krassyuk, didn’t retire, and is obviously taking these fights for different reasons than when he fought Fury, AJ, and everyone before. It’s a shame, because he’s now chipping away at what is without doubt one of the most impressive careers the sport has ever seen. This is also why I respect Crawford’s decision so much - he basically left millions on the table. Maybe it’s also tied to the fact that it takes longer for non-Western fighters to break into the big market, so it’s harder to walk away once the big money finally arrives late in their careers. I hope Usyk doesn’t stay on for more than one more fight (two at the absolute max). I really hope he doesn’t waste time fighting Fury - what the hell would even be the point? He should fight Agit (give the man a proper chance) and/or rematch Rico to clean up the mess of the last fight. I hope that’s the route he takes, but we’ll see.
