Danny Garcia
Adonis Stevenson
Peter Quillen
I think Al Haymon has something big in store for us over the next couple of years. (whether or not it pans out remains to be seen) I think that is the reason for all the TBA's and easy fights for his fighters.
But has the damage already been done? Are their reputations already damaged to the point of no recovery? These were guys with some major hype behind them at one point and now they are basically the laughing stock of boxing and the butt of many jokes.
Which other fighters reps has he tarnished in your opinion?
Speak on it?
Boxing is what have you done for me lately a guy can go from king to schlub back to king again in a 12 month span.
Everything is about the last fight, things go well the beginning of the year all is forgiven essentially.

Not really, Dan Rafael & Jim Lampley will try to do their best to give you the impression these Haymon guys are not fighting the opposition they're suppose to fight, but it doesn't change the fact that Roc Nation couldn't win the purse bid for the Quillin fight, or bring Brooner on their side. Also, it doesn't change the fact Sergey Kovalev will still meet Adonis Stevenson on September 26 2015.
Which Stevenson will easely win.
There is a business side in boxing, fans refuse to hear. And Haymon is an expert for taking the right decision for the well being of all his associate boxers.
Now that Al Haymon brought over 20 & more big fight nights a year on national tv NBC, why judging the best business man in this sport.
All the fights the fans wants to see, will all come for FREE, with the right payday for the fighters.
Must of you guys should be happy.
I think he has tarnished their reputations for us real boxing fan, but the casual wont know. They will just think wow hes undefeated etc etc
The worst is Quillin. Thats the one who better stepup cause is reputation is the worst of all boxing right now. All the sh*t he talks makes 0 sense and he looks like a dummy.
The damage has been done to people in this site but not the people it matters to: the casuals. I mean garcia salka sold plenty of tix and best sho ratings of the year.
What was the groupon deal for that again?
Buy 2 get 4 free? Anybody remember?
Are you serious hanz?
U think casuals think Danny's some cherry picker and a bum? Idk how many people use this site but were a very small community. Casuals don't care

Oh yes, Garcia is very well known mow for his cherry picking abilities and getting his ass out boxed by Mauricio Herrera and dodging other fighters who would probably kick the other half of his one dimensional ass.
Yea he sure has ruined Danny Garcia, as he is about to become a household name in 4 months.
He isnt going to become any type of household name in 4 months. Most people do not and will not watch boxing even if its on network TV...lets wait and see some ratings before anointing Boxing as a mainstream sport again, much less Danny Garcia a household name.
The Great thing about boxing is that you can change fans opinions rather quickly.
Quillin grows a pair fight GGG and he gets some respect, even if he loses I think most LOGICAL and MATURE fans would still give him credit for finally stepping up.
Haymon did not tarnish anybody career, they're the ones picking and choosing, Haymon is being blamed for some of these fighters BS. Leo Santa Cruz and others have mentioned that Haymon give them options and them and their team are the ones who choose who they want to fight
Matthysse was approached about fight Broner, he wasn't interested, Maidana was offered Thurman, he wasn't interested, Leo Santa Cruz all he has to do is give the word to Al Haymon that he wants Rigondeaux and I guarantee that fight gets done as well.
Quillin and others are taking advantage of and HIDING BEHIND Haymon's Power! For Danny it is Angel making decisions as far as who they fight, for Stevenson it is Yvon Michel who is Stevenson PROMOTER!
I agree with this actually. Fighters are the cause. They are *****ing out for that money. And as for boxers saying Al chooses the fight for them, well i say to the wifey every time that my dog Rico was the one who farted. He cant talk so he wont say no, it was him, not me.

This is not entirely true. Most of his guys are on the record saying that they let Al do the match making.
And as a match maker the guy either suck balls or its a premeditated, which is more than obvious. So yes Al is the one to blame. I can't blame the fighters for making easy money but I sure as hell can't respect them as professional athletes or world champions for taking the easy route.

That's true, but I suppose since he has signed a large percentage of the more relevant fighters in the sport he will get more blame than the others. Still, look at Quillin, he dropped his belt because Haymon told him to, effectively avoiding his mandatory, and now wants to fight for it again in 2015.
Yea, can't argue with ya there, that was pretty fkn ridiculous.. they obviously weren't very confident that Quillin could beat Korobov, but now that Andy Lee has the belt, they're all for it. SMH

He's made them a lot of money at that's mainly what they care about. I seriously doubt they give a damn what posters on boxingscene think about them.
i'm excited to see who wins the al haymon belt in each division even though it will only be the couple guys who are with haymon that are eligible to win it. who needs to be the best when you can be the al haymon best?
You are right, but I wouldn't put ALL of the blame on Haymon (as much as I'd like to).. He did play a large part in it, but Boxing has been corrupt for a looong time now, and there are many "players" who know how to play the game, like politics.. "Everything caves under the weight of greed."

Haymon has degraded the term Champion and has discredited what all the great fighters fought for in the world of boxing. Boxing was once a rewarded sport because of the struggle and sacrifice fighters faced to get to the top and they did it passion and hope to one day be the Champion of The World. Boxing has now been taken from us and turned into a show business in which you don't have to struggle or take risks because of you fight for Haymon the reward is the same.
Farewell Professional Boxing our one and only true love and welcome to the new breed of boxing?
