I think hate has blinded a lot of you but the fact is who is a better opponent for Mayweather than Amir Khan (at welterweight), in terms of entertainment, excitement, clash of styles and money?
There's only Pacquiao...Bradley possibly but there's no interest from the fans or the fighters in that bout. So if the Pacquiao fight doesn't happen, it would be absolutely laughable if Mayweather fought anyone else, yes even Danny Garcia, who seems likely to be the next "go to mug".
There was a time when I thought the Garcia fight was an ok match up if Pac fell through BUT Khan has earned his due and shown that he not only belongs at 147 but is stronger too.
All yall can keep hating.
Khan isn't the most appealing but it's the best option after PAC. Brook is focused on fighting some bum in England
Interesting turn of phrase...in terms of appeal, Khan may literally be the most attractive option for boxing fans, Khan's speed, aggression, chin almost always provide excitement. Why do you think he is not appealing?
The best thing for Khan is to have another few more fights at WW. For those who are not as patient, at least one more ......
Devon was a perfect style matchup for Khan. Now lets see Khan do what he did the other night against someone who can cause him problems or at least step it up another notch.......
But why should Khan wait if Mayweather is not going to fight Pacquiao?
Brook.
Depends who impressed more from Brook vs Porter or Khan vs Alex. To me, I thlought Porter would destroy and KO Brook while I thought Alexander would lose a decision vs Khan. I think Porter is a better fighter than Alex, and he actually proved he is in their fight. He really beat up Devon.
For me, Brook is the better WW at the moment. He has the better last win. Also, I don't see things ending very well for Khan if he fought Porter. Porter can punch.
It was your own foolish to believe someone as flat footed and uncoordinated as Porter could beat Brook. And no, he never beat up Devon, watch the fight. A close, ugly win, like much of Porters career.
Brook.

Manny lost to Bradley got knocked out by old JMM and couldn't cut off the ring against a very limited chris algieri.
Pac needs to fight Jesse Vargas and let Floyd fight the guy who used to beat the sh*t out of him in sparring - Amir Khan.
How come floyds fan always don't want the floyd vs pac to happen? And they always think that guerrero is a more legitimate fight for floyd..
LOL. after all, they are not boxing fans. they are boxer's fan.

Kell Brook and Manny should be Floyd's main focus since they are the champions. Other than that i think Amir has a fair enough case to get the fight. Danny has a cute little resume going on for him too, i would not be mad if that fight was made.
Thats basically it as far as appealing options imo. Floyd already beat JMM, Maidana,Cotto, Canelo. Thurman, Porter are too green. Timmy just aint that good and he been beaten by Pacquiao twice.
NOOOOOO ONE EVERRR considered Devon A-level. His Peak in life is being a B-level, on the dot fighter.
Brw, Bradley did what Khan did but a few years earlier. He actually made Devon quit out of frustration.
So we just gon act like Bradley's big ass head did not play a part in Devon quittin?
face it, Tim is just not that good. He really doesnt bring much to the table against anyone. The kid can't really punch hard and he is not this super slick boxer either. If saturday's performance against freakin diego chaves didnt open your eyes to reality then i dont know what will.
I can't believe some have the nerve to mention fckin "tim bradley" as a legit challenge to Floyd smh. What is Bradley going to do besides trying to cause Floyd a concussion with his big ass head? Tim ain't going to KO Floyd and he ain't going to out slick Mayweather either.
At least Khan has speed and decent power sssh
At welter I think only manny and khan can really cause floyd any trouble.. Then maybe kell brook..
Sorry, I don't think thurman causes floyd much problems.. I think Keith would end up getting outboxed like ghost and Canelo did..
6 years since Prescott, 2 years since Garcia, rocked by Maidana.
Beating journeymen Diaz, Collazo and Alexander in 36 rounds gives you a shot at Mayweather now?
Are you really going to argue that Khan could outbox Floyd over 12 rounds to win a UD based on those performances?
Kinda owing yourself there.
If Alexander and Diaz are journeymen then Porter has never beaten anyone but journeymen and even had a draw with one.
So then how can a win over Porter mean anything ?
Brook
Porter
Garcia
Bradley
Pacquiao
Two of those guys beat Alexander's ass already, one beat Khan's ass, another beat Porter's ass after beating Alexander's ass, and Pacquiao speaks for himself.
None of you will have anyone to blame but yourselves in the aftermath of a potential Mayweather/Khan fight, when Mayweather wins fairly convincingly and you're all whining about it.
Garcia is not even at WW, yet if this was Khan it's "need to earn it doe".
Bradley just came off of struggling with Chaves and should be sent back to Shobox.
Porter? LOL
Brook: has a belt and very strong, but how many wins does he even have at world level? Khan has been on this level for ages.
Pacquiao: We all know that ain't happening.
This post is stupid.
Anyway, I tend to agree. If not Pacquiao, I wouldn't mind a Khan fight. I always thought Khan would give Floyd a lot of problems.
So have I, so has RJJ and Paulie, who both normally talk a lot of sense when it comes to boxing.
in the grand scheme of things, khan is at a good point in his career. he debuted, he won, he got hyped, his name got thrown around some big names. he lost. he shows resilience in coming back and (at least for now) making me believe that he could still be high caliber fighter. maybe its because they both had roach as a trainer but his style looks like a taller right hander pacquiao of today with the mindset of featherweight pacquiao in terms of attack attack attack but everyone knows damn well his chin cannot handle that type of fight. hopefully age and experience and maybe his weight progression will allow him to make adjustments and get over the weak chin.
at this stage, hes just another strong up and comer who Floyd has to put in his place. if he beats brook, he would be THE guy to face.
look, theres no doubt if Khan beats another top 10 welter, he is in an even better position, the problem is, Mayweather hasn't fought a credible welterweight threat in years and if he doesnt fight pacquiao AND Khan, who do you want him to fight? Maidana 3? JMM 2? Danny Garcia?

What crack me up is I have always liked the Floyd-Khan fight as a guilty pleasure kind of thing I have always wanted to see Floyd prove the difference between a real boxer and a glorified amateur Khan. I never faulted anyone for not liking that fight though because it was always so simple to see what would happen, but seeing all these people change their tune about that fight (over what really beating Alexnder and Collazo? nice wins they aren't Floyd) makes me laugh.
It is the most amusing side of being a fan of Floyd, it also makes it easy to pick out who is on Gum Drop Island with their boxing views and who is in the real world/
Brook
Porter
Garcia
Bradley
Pacquiao

Basically.

Brook earned more of a shot by beating Porter than Khan has by beating Alexander.
Only reason Khan is even in the running is because he's making himself loud and obnoxious about it.
Not at all. Porter didn't beat Alexander anywhere near as impressively as Khan. I watched Devon vs Porter yesterday with the sound off and that was a very close fight, it could have gone either way really, it was nothing compared to Khan's complete domination of Devon.
So Brook beating Porter was an excellent performance but Porter is basically the same level as Alexander. Khan beats Porter real easy at this point so the Brook fight is like a 55-45 fight imo, in Khan's favour.
Andre Berto and his new found shoulder roll would be an epic clash of titans.
Is Alexander suppose to be some type of stud? If he is, I didn't get the memo.
Khan is nothing more than a decent journey man fighter, a stepping stone. He should be fighting Bradley.
