Our two biggest cash cows literally hit it/mainstream big after beating another cash cow.
Even Mayweather said the DLH was a make it or break it fight..
If top fighters don't give chances to the up and comers, then what is the point of boxing?
Floyd Mayweather wasn't the #1 contender to his first title, but he was given that shot of glory.
Yep...they all use this excuse, why?? because boxing is a business...but we seem to ignore that and accuse fighters of ducking
Cuz we don't care about none of that. We just wanna see the fights. We look at boxing as a sport when it's really not its a business. It's sad.
The better question is when did fighters who barely sell 9k tickets get to act like financial sense is a valid reason to avoid a fight.
People don't care about how popular an opponent is. They just throw that into the faces of the GGG fans.
Yeah. Because avoiding a guy in a division above you, in which you've never even fought in, is possible
If Golovkin is avoiding Ward, Ward is avoiding Kovalev. Or is that not right?
Ward has also used that same reason to not go up to lhw. He said a fight with Kovalev is not a ppv fight.

while you are posting GGG'S face that is the same excuse his team used concerning Ward...

Ask GGG'S team 1st they said they will fight anyone from 154-168..now all the sudden " it makes no financial sense"

You just said it. Why would Mayweather or anyone else purposely risk their status so some up and comer can topple them? It didnt work out for the people they beat so they know first hand how it goes. Is there even anyone in welterweight being built up to be a star like the way Canelo or GGG is? Theres no one worthy yet. One thing I think Mayweather does is he fights these young fighters early. By early i mean, before they make it huge or get enough exp to be a threat, popularity or skillwise. He will never fight anyone who can compete skillwise or negotiation wise because hes beating them before they get big.

What bothers me is people getting a shot before they really deserve it, especially when others do more. Some people flat out do not deserve to enjoy the life they do, Broner comes to mind. Others, fight hard and never really get due recognition, Katsidis, and Maidana come to mind.

Boxing is a mess. The actual sport is the greatest IMO but the way it's ran is horrible. UFC is like a legit fight league where a guy with no fans can get a shot if he wins his fights. Now I know, UFC is a company and Boxing is a sport but if u are a GB fighter and ain't a big draw, you might not get a crack at a Danny Garcia or Canelo Alvarez.
