What a stiff. Literally. Could the guy stand up any straighter or keep his chin up in the air anymore than he does? How could Wlad miss? The div. is a disgrace to what HW boxing used to be. Just another crap win for Wlad as people continue to believe he is one of the greatest HW's of all time. He's not. He's just competing in an era where fighters literally have minimal boxing skills. Wlad would've gotten wrecked and been knocked out multiple times had he come up in the 90's. And if you don't believe that, then you really don't know your boxing.
You can't be serious with this post.
I love how in fantasy matchups Wlad is a beast that takes out a solid fighter like Bruno in two rounds, when in reality it takes him 6 rounds to get rid of Pianeta, 4 to Mormeck, 5 Pulev, 12 Chambers, 7 for fat Rahman.
I think Bruno would have been a very stiff test for Wlad. Though I think Wlad would win, he would certainly provide a good test.
yea,,,I was drunk when I posted that,,lol. I think wlad would have stopped him between rounds 6 and 10. bruno would have been dangerous but he was too stiff and mechanical in there. he also froze like a deer in headlights whenever hed get hit by a descent punch even worse than wlad imo. bruno would have had moments tho with that stiff jab of his
You have categories, platonic archetypes with all things including fighters. You got your "If I could only" fighters right? Guys like Ibuchi, Judah....guys who if you could only keep them together they would be phenominal..... Then you have your gatekeepers....the Tony Thompson's of the boxing world, Orlando Salida, Mayorga.....Then you have your prospects yes? Guys who are coming up and making it happen so far, Guys who if things go well the sky is the limit?
Ok so then you have your superstars right? the final category is the professional opponent. These guys look good with the right ink/press, they have decent records, they usually have a belt from some pie in the sky agency? well Pulov is in this category. Is he bad? well....he is a professional opponent. If the other guy is a prospect, or a star, and he does not come apart at the seams, if he just behaves himself, does not take any really crazy risks...well the opponent won't get a close decision and will usually look good because AN OPPONENT IS ESSENTIALLY THERE TO MAKE THE OTHER GUY LOOK GOOD.
And that my friend, is what I consider Pulov, Povatkin, the postman, Moremack, etc. Professional opponents.
Its not even that Pulov may not be able to decision a guy like Fury, or even Haye its just that while a young lion is a threat...Haye or Fury could be very talented and could knock Klitschko for a loop, or make him look pathetic with his clinching, etc...what could pulov have possibly done to Vlad? He really can't punch enough to be a KO threat, he wouldn't get a decision unless he somehow became a different fighter (his activity level, aggression, etc).
I think whether you admit it or not, at least part of you sees what I am saying as you have sense.
Personally, I think Pulev could only have done, exactly what he did do. Rough Wlad up. He couldn't outbox Wlad. And he couldn't patiently wait for a big shot that he doesn't really have and couldn't deliver. He fought how he had too.
And that's exactly my point had he fought like YOU wanted him to, he had no chance at all!
You say you'd rather see Wlad fight tall big punchers whom have a punchers chance?
Remember there was one of these guys whom some claim even had REAL skills, Price! Thompson exposed him, Pulev edged Thompson.
THIS is why we see Pulev vs Wlad in the 1st place! Because these big power guys have already stopped before they reach Wlad by the guys Wlad DOES fight!
If that were the reason, it should also be true that US fans constantly complain about the light heavyweight division for the same reason.
But they don't.
Even though the top of the division is filled almost exclusively with non-US fighters (save for Hopkins).
Kovalev, Stevenson, Pasal, Braehmer, Fonfara, Shumenov, Bute, Murat, Beterbiev, the list goes on.
Uh yes they do. At least on this forum they sure do. And now that Hopkins is gone the same guys he was praised for beating will go back to being "eurobums nobody's ever heard of". It happened to HW, CW, now LHW and MW. Ward is dangling by a string at SMW.
5 years from now there might be 1 division left with a Detroit/Oakland/Brooklyn/etc fighter in the top 10 and that will become "the only division that matters".
Dead guys will dominate the act-of-protest p4p lists "because this is such a terrible era".
It's just a coincidence then that it's US fans who constantly complain about the HW division.

Yep, the 50 year old Briggs who is somehow still relevant today as a top contender, and maybe even a world title challenger soon.
are you serious? he's only relevant by the few morons on here supporting his stupid stalking
You trollin, history guy.
Do you think Pulev has potential, from what you saw? Vlad is chasing Louis. If this forum existed 75 years ago we would know debate how Joe just defeated Tony 2 ton Galento.

I doubt that. Many think Wilder is an overrated hype job, who hasn't fought anybody. I personally think that the first time he gets hits hard, he will do the chicken dance. Vlad is disliked because he fights bums and newbies. His cheating tactics of grabbing, holding and leaning in order to protect his glass jaw and tire his opponents also is not appreciated. Nor is his shoving his opponents down after landing a good shot liked much.
Wlad isn't allowed to fight bums (you'll never see an opponent with a bad record who didn't earn his shot on WK's resume)
Wlad isn't allowed to fight greens (Pulev with 20 pro fights, unbeaten, no#2 contender, extensive ammy background with wins over good opponents is hardly a newbie).
I think Wilder will get sparked too. I also know that many think Wilder is also the saviour of the division too. They're already getting into place for the "takeover" they are hoping for.
the truth is americans insult the heavyweight division because they don't have a heavyweight champ. simple.
if wlad retired and wilder were to pick up one of the vacant belts then there won't be no more hate or talk about heavyweight being trash. in fact they'll talk about it being rejuvenated and start talking about all these heavyweights they used to trash.bitter americans can't deal with the fact that they haven't had a world champion in so long.
when you have an ATG legend like wlad dominating a division then of course everyone else will look far inferior doesn't mean they're crap.

No one in the heavyweight division can fight, period!!!!
If that guy the other night is a legit number one contender the entire division should be suspended for lack of talent!!!
If Wlad is an ATG why does he look so bad in the ring?
Every time he misses with his jab (which is often) he falls in and "hungs"!
As for old 2 Ton Tony Galento at least he came to fight!!! He wasn't afraid of anyone and he was just a brawler/street fighter. Also if he hit you with his hook you'd get hurt and that's anybody. If he had a ladder he would KO Wlad.
hahahaha.............the division is a mess!
You have guys who are undefeated fighting horrible competition you have an old maniac following Wlad around yelling at him! The Champ would rather go row boating than hold a real press conference or fight someone who will fight back!
Oh well no big deal its been like this for years now, I mess!
Remember Lewis, Evander, Tyson even Razor to old Big George? At least there was some drama and excitement, these bouts today offer scratch, nothing!!! People talk about the "entrance" instead of the fight. It's as if pro boxing has become the junior division of pro wrestling!!! That's were the fans actually believe all the hype!!!!..........sound familiar? :sucks:

Pulev comes from an extensive pedigree and a country known for producing tough fighters.
He has beaten, Glazkov, Solis, Abdusalamov, Ustinov, Thompson, Dimitrenko among many other decorated boxers with clear skills.
The man utilises his height to keep his opponents at distance like a big man should and works behind a very good clean jab. He also has a chin of iron and great timing.
Your praising 2 tonne Tony Galento for coming to fight, yet you call Pulev, who did just that, unskilled for doing so? You cannot have it both ways, your contradicting yourself in the same post! Pulev would never even fight Galento!
Wladimir has some of the best timing and accuracy ever seen, maybe the reason he missed a bit was because of HOW GOOD HIS OPPONENT WAS! :pat:
The heavyweight division is stacked with talent, both highly skilled and highly dangerous fighters, like it has only rarely been before.
I'll take Pulev over your favourites anyday of the week!
Your hatred of boxing today leaves me wondering why you are even in this sport to begin with! Agenda driven *******!
Smh at these fools discrediting a very good boxer in Pulev :nonono:
He gave Vlad a good fight as long as it lasted, many of Vlad's opponents don't come to fight like that.
How can anybody who understands boxing claim Pulev to be garbage? He is clearly a classy fighter, he has a deep amateur background and was decorated with numerous medals as an am. He won gold in the super heavyweight division in 2008, for instance. He is a skilled boxer ffs.
He is also still fairly young and still on a learning curve. I bet he will propel from the Vlad fight and most likely be the champ when Vlad retires!
Pulev isn't really a bum, but he is inexperienced, and needs to sharpen his technique. He kept his hands too far from his face, didn't move his head and kept being a sucker for the left hook. Klitschko was sharper and more vicious than he has been lately. However, I didn't like the way he pushed Pulev down each time he hurt him, while Weeks said nothing about it.

Wlad needs to fight Wilder or Briggs. It seems those are the most attractive fights right now. Honestly, no one under 6 foot 6 is any threat to Wlad.
Yeah exactly. I think Wlad is a better fighter, no doubt. he's got many more tools in his locker. but how would he stand up to a Bruno left hook?
Both fight scared when it comes to good opponents and it would likely be a timid boring affair with Wlad being the busier fighter and probably win a decision.
Bruno was a poor mans Wlad. Wlad would destroy him, Bruno was robotic and had chin and stamina issues but if he was great or a near great wouldn't he have won a belt during his prime? He had to wait for a crazy mental case who could be out boxed to win a title. Even then he was hanging on for dear life in the 12th round. The Wlad we see now would never be troubled by McCall late. Also his fear of Tyson in the rematch was comical, considering Holyfield destroyed about a year and half later by just out boxing him.
Worthy of what is the question? he certianly could sub for my Blue Rock em sock em Robot....Although mr Blue keeps his head a little lower and still has more head movement than the decorated Bulgarian amateur prodigy. Now my Red rock em sock em? thats a different story.

yeah cause you know a hell of a lot of boxing yourself.
Pulev is a decorated amateur and worthy opponent.

The fact that you think Leapai and Pulev are equivalents says it all. Dig a hole and lay it gramps, you're outdated. Yeah Bonescrusher Smith is a real legend, lol.
Smith would pound Pulov into Bulgarian farm cheese.
It's blacksportsonline. You should go there before commenting on the substance of the content.
Had you turned your hood around or cut out bigger eye holes and read the article posted in the other thread you'd have seen what I posted was critical of Floyd. Instead, we get your usual-ignorant, racist, homophobic, attack and then play victim BS.
It's too bad God hasn't blessed you with any intelligence, creativity or drive. Had he, instead of coming here you'd have created your own NSB-Nazi Salutes Boxing-forum and then you could do you all day without any of us having to deal with you.
Carry on.
Dude, you would have more credibility marking others as racist(although you would have to provide more than a whine as evidence) if you didnt frequent such murky corners of the web as blacksportsonline.:nonono:
