I cant wait for 5 million of those casuals who dont know **** about boxing to disappear back to whatever it is they normally follow. Im glad boxing is a niche sport, i hope it stays that way
That does it a DISservice my man. Without the casuals, Floyd and Pac would NOT have gotten this many ppv buys in any of their fights let alone this one.
Logic doesn't sink well with these kids.
FLoyd contributed to making the fight boring.
It's simple
Did he or did he not contributed to making the fight boring?
If that's the way Mayweather fights, boring, then he gets the blame as well
he did, both are to blame.
Correct
styles make fights. perhaps the booing was for the guy who didn't bring his expected style to the ring.
Takes 2 to tango kid. Both are to blame. Pac was a loser for not disclosing this supposed injury and Floyd should be held accountable for lying when he said he was going to come out and attack early and impose his will.
All in all the fight didnt live up to the hype as a lot of people were hoping that Floyd wouldve fought Pac like he did Maidana the 1st time. Many people were dissapointed even if some of those were fans of the winner. Some of my boys wanted Pac, some Mayweather. there was a sour taste in many a mouth that night when all was said and Dunn....lol
They both made it boring. Both of them broke their own record for least amount of punches thrown, smh.
Don't know what people expected they're both way over the hill.
Fight would have been a lot more exciting 5/6 years ago when it was supposed to happen.
I expected both of them to throw more punches that what they threw!
And yes, the fight wouldve been more exciting 5/6 years ago.
I replied to this in another thread
From what he expressed, it isnt just this weekends past fight, its boxing in general. Like i stated, he has some relevant points, not all though.
and the majority of fans(mostly casuals because they ARE the big buyers) were left disappointed. Should have been named "Sparring Session of the Century"
One of the best fights pbc has had to offer so far!
I think that pbc would be better served if they had 2 time slots. Sundays at 1pm and saturdays at 5pm. It takes confusion away from people, which i think is cause for some of the dip in ratings.
Congrats to Chunky! If he hadnt took his foot off the gas in a few of those mid rounds, he mightve got a possible ko, if not a WIDE UD. Either way, Dirrel wouldve said he won regardless lol
Pointing out something about HBO doesn't mean I hate GGG. Only a child thinks like that, kid.
You can point out many a thing about most boxers and what station they are signed to. Its your bias towards hating on a certain fighter, but not others is what makes your statement pitiful. I get what youre trying to do, but its a damn shame you actually think its ok.......carry on
Meanwhile, HBO is pushing Kov v Ward and doing everything they can to not make Ward v GGG most likely because they know Ward would not only beat GGG but humble him. As soon as HBO execs think GGG has the best chance to beat Ward, then they will push to make the fight.
Must be nice to have your record protected by your network.
Let's hope the recent back and forth makes HBO push for the Ward v GGG fight. I think a lot of us would like to see it.
Your hate is pitiful kid
Highest non PBC fight this year. Huge number I'm sure was helped by Floyd/Manny replay.
I doubt it, especially because of the backlash the sparring session the week before caught....but good try though.
Please don't put Toney in the same category as Floyd/bhop. Dude was a fighter that used defense as it should be.
What a great answer. The cat stayed in the pocket, deflected and dodged punches then punched moth.erfu.ckers right in their mouth! Toney was great at that and his style was pleasing to hardcore and casual fans alike. Throw in the fact that his sh.it talk was head and shoulder above most and you had the whole package!
The canelo fight just did ratings over 2, meanwhile Pbc on network television did half of that. Why would hbo be desperate?
Throw in the fact that HBO is a PAY channel and we all can appreciate HBO ratings more. Its called Prize Fighting for a reason, people want action!
Cotto has fought the top fighters of his time and had some success, fair enough. But Canelo's biggest wins are against Austin Trout and James Kirkland, neither of whom are near top 10 P4P.
This fight isn't remotely on the level of Mayweather-Pacquiao.
And that fight lived up to everybodys expectations, right? C'mon now, people WANT and pay for FIGHTS! Not glorified sparring sessions where each man looks like nothing happened to them after the fight was over. They want ko's, or at least the fighters' going for KO's. They want action. They want a FIGHT!
Cotto and Canelo are 2 Big names in the sport, regardless of your opinion. They bring in fans and thats what it really comes down to. So is this a super fight of Pac/May levels, probably not and i doubt any other fight in our lifetime will ever be. But this IS a super fight. A popular mexican vs a very popular borikua for thee MW title of the world.
I thought Amir looked out of place Friday night. He did indeed look off from what were used to seeing. Eitherway, I don't think he could beat Jr.
His style is too generic. Nothing standout.
As he said, the Amir that was in the ring Friday night would have not beat Jr. He looked so mediocre and average, struggling at times against another mediocre. There was nothing impressive at all about him.
I dont think Algieri won a round vs Pac. In this fight he won 4 maybe 5 imo. Khan didnt impress AT ALL.
Hahaha, Khan's got an excuse for everything.
Look like sh1t, blame it on over training.
Seriously
There was NOTHING in that performance to suggest Khan should be in the same arena as Mayweather.Floyd for his part will hopefully look elsewhere and have nothing to do with such nonsense .Let Khan sort his problems out and come back with a good win .As it stands Khan is a million miles away from the master, very poor show and the excuses and lies need attention.Chris was there for you to make a 'statement' and you blew it bigtime.....it's back to the drawing board ..AGAIN !
No one could have the least amount of confidence that you should fight Floyd Mayweather in your next fight.
You couldve stopped right there bro! lolol
Don't forget he picked this fight to look BETTER than Pacquiao not to look worst....in his words "to make a statement" !
Co-sign
Its a sad day when proven fair training honest fighters like Khan are berated for their performances in comparison to prove steroid cheats like Kell Brook
Has Brook tested positive for juice? link please..
Khan didn't look good enough in this fight to make a Floyd fight compelling to most fans but I think he showed enough vulnerability that he could be Manny's return fight.
exactly!
