Homie hasn't fought in about a year. Is he trying to be Andre Ward or what?
Like most disillusioned and prematurely privileged African-American fighters on American TV, he thinks he is Mayweather and deserves maximum money for minimum work.
was wondering this today, like a ward situation, a decent boxer wasting years away and very much falling out of boxing fans minds, not even a blip on a casuals radar.
Blackballed! Allegedly him and his Promoter are at least from HBO :dunno: which is probably why they declared Ruslan a Network Free Agent. They can probably come back for cheap fights like Willie Monroe Jr vs GGG but I doubt you will see a Banner Promotion Fighter headlining anything on their Network
Korobov situation as well as not taking the Charlo offer ruined some relationships "Allegedly". PBC doesn't seem likely for him at this time so I don't know WTF he is going to do. He would likely have to break away from his current team to get a second chance because I doesn't see like anybody is going to do business with him as long as his Dad is his Manager and Banner Promotions is his Promoter. I'm sure these Lawsuits will likely push people further away from dealing with him. Even recently what his Promotion tried to pull with Mundine and trying to get a option on him for a 2nd Fight :nonono: Sounds like Banner Promotions does BAD BUSINESS and they're desperate for Big Fights and Big Paydays for their fighters.
He was better off fighting the thai guy then trying to fight Mundine.... now he's gonna be tied up in legal affairs... no money, no fights... better hope Roc buys him out or he's gonna be broke
Another promising young talent gone by the wayside. Don't get why these guys can't be a little smarter than they are sometimes. Hopefully he finds his way but it's starting to look to me like he is going to muck things up for himself.
Tossing some prime years of his career away, smh.

Contractual issues. I think he's backed into a corner though and may have to take certain fights at this point.
Right, but into a corner he created for himself
The Mundine fight would be good. The Australians will probably pay him decently to go down there and after he kills Mundine he will have the WBC Silver belt which puts him in line for Floyd's 154 pound WBC title.

A few notes from around the boxing world:
• Junior middleweight titlist Demetrius Andrade (21-0, 14 KOs), who has not fought in 13 months because of general contract unhappiness -- despite co-promoters Artie Pelullo and Joe DeGuardia offering him various fights for career-high six-figure purses -- is expected to finally return in late August or September. The promoters told ESPN.com they have various possible fights in the pipeline for him, although a proposed bout on Aug. 15 at the Foxwoods resort in Mashantucket, Connecticut, is not going to happen, according to Pelullo.
One of the possible bouts Pelullo said was in the works would be for Andrade, 27, to make a trip to Australia to face 40-year-old former super middleweight titlist Anthony Mundine (47-6, 27 KOs), who has been fighting at junior middleweight for the past few years. Andrade has not fought since he made his first title defense against mandatory challenger Brian Rose, whom he knocked out in the seventh round on June 14, 2014, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
was the last time he fought against Brian Rose or w/e his name is? That was a mismatch. When he fought Vanes it was pretty competitive; think he even got dropped early. Ultimately he does seem like he's expecting the star treatment when he hasn't done enough to merit that. I wish he would have fought the Charlo guy because the Charlos are so f***ing boring, and maybe he could've taken at least one of them out of the spotlight for a while.
