That was a great flight and as far as I know, I think Crawford is the only one that’s ever moved up two weight classes to win the title in the modern era. That was an amazing accomplishment and a very entertaining fight although I thought the scores were skewed. I had it 118 - 112 for Crawford
Ray would beat the tar out of Mayweather. Then again Floyd would never fight a prime Leonard. As Mayweather has shown since going to welterweight he'll only fight real small guys or guys with a name who are way past their prime. Mosley was 38 years old, had'nt fought is 16 months and even then got his latest claim to fame by beating an exposed cheater named Margarito. I still believe that Floyd is a media generated superfighter at welterweight and how anyone can legitmately compare him to any fighter like SRL who fought the best of the best in there PRIME is laughable. This whole blood testing balony with the pacman was just another smokescreen to avoid fighting a legitmate opponent. Let PACman start slipping and Mayweather will be screaming to fight him. Never bought in to Mayweathers smokescreens and never will . He's a good weelterweight could maybe be great but won't because he lacks the real confindence to fight the really big fights.
look Shane's almost 40 so cudos to him for takin the fight. As for Mayweather he's another media generated blowhard who ONLY fights guys he has some kind of physical advantage, small guys, old guys with names or guys past their prime. He brags he's the best ever and if he really believes that perhaps he already has been brain damaged. Sugar Ray leonard, or Sugar Ray Robinson would have totally embarrassed him but then again if boxing was'n t in the state it's in now he wouldn't have even had a chance. Is Mosley past his prime? Absolutely!! Does he have a chance in this track meet? yup! so that says alot about Mayweather. lol!! I won't spend a nickel to see the runner against the gunner, if I want to see a track meet I'll watch the summer olympics
What a Joke!
Look! Anyone who follows heavyweight boxing can't be happy with this fight regardless of the results. This fight just reinforced the perception that the heavyweight division is just plain terrible!! The mere fact Klitchko was able to hold the title for 11 years and a guy like Fury was undefeated and fighting for the heavyweight championship says it all. Fury won this fight by a large margin, that being said I thought the fight looked like two large, slow off balance big guys stumbling around the ring for 12 rounds was embarrassing when you look at the history of the heavyweight division. What's changed is we now have a bunch of 250 pound guys who are just too slow and clumsy. Klitchko held the title for 11 years because he was allowed to defend against much smaller less talented guys and basicly lay on them until they wilted. What we need is a Super Heavyweight division for these big guys to practice there Sumo wrestling and get back to a heavyweight division like we used to have. Remember Tyson, Holmes, Ali, Norton and Frazier now those were entertaining athletic heavyweight fighters! The guys today fight for 5 different belts and are more plodding wrestlers than boxers. With this talent pool I wouldn't expect to see any PPV super fights in the heavyweight division in our lifetime. Right now the heavyweight division is more a carnival act than a boxing match. One moe thing, Fury sings as well as he boxes.
Huge Kovalev fan!! That being said I thing Ward will fight him the same way Sugar Ray Leonard fought Hagler. Hit , move, tie up repeat. Ward by decision
Ward Loses
I can't see Ward winning this fight. His rep was built on what I consider rather average fighters and he's been out so long I'd have to go with the champ on this one.
Musclehead fake
What does this say about the state of the heavyweight division when we're even talking about Briggs getting a title shot. He's a big, slow loudmouth lug who shows up at new conferences instead of building a reputation in the ring. I though he retired years ago quite frankly because of asthma and all the beatings he received. Tell the muscle head to try the WWE .......
Bull**** alert! A torn rotator cuff to the extent Manny needed surgery is so painfull there is just no way he fought the entire fight with it. He may have injured his shoulder some before the fight and finally tore it late in the second half of the fight but that's not why he lost! Looks at all the tape leading up to the fight showing Manny sparring and hitting the heavybag. Don't get sucked in by the PR he lost and this injury is being used by the PR specialists hoping to turn it into cash from suckers who think a second fight would be any different.
Believe me if enough suckers bite they're be a rematch, manny will chase floyd again lose on points and make another 50 million doing it. Don't fall for it
Manny please retire.
Manny is done. if he fight's again it will be against B class fighters. I for one wold NEVER pay for another PPV with him or Mayweather regardless of the oppponent. Boxing is dying because of all the titles and the new thing of over the hill fighters being billed as super fighters. It's so easy now to get a title , you're now seeing fighters with 2-1 records fighting and winning titles for crying out loud because there is so many of them . First they increased the amount of weight divisions and now you have every promoter controlling world title belts We now have WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF ect...... and lets not forget about Super champions and Diamond champions. Mayweather is a good fighter for this era, a top 10 fighter at best if he came up in the 70-80's era. Can you picture him having to fight fighters in there prime such as Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, ha ha ha not a chance!
Apparent Brain Damage
I think the proper term should be apparent brain damage. i think it's safe to say that science has done enough research on the matter of brain injuries from contact sports like boxing to say just about all prize fighters have some amount of brain damage. Think about it, the whole purpose in boxing is to try and short circuit your opponents brain by punching them in the head!
Fight was a snoozer
I think Pacman showed his true colors. It was all about the money. I lost a lot of respect for him after this fight. He lost, He lost big and he can't claim he did his best. Take the money go pay your taxes and retire. As far as I'm concerned you stole money from every fan who shelled out big money to see a super fight. This fight should have been postponed and the mere fact that to "accidentily" forgot to mention it on the health forms leading up to the fight says a lot. Give your PR staff a big raise because you suckered all the fans and we fell for it. By the way I was hoping fro a Mayweather loss and I scored it 118 -110 for Mayweather easy. Quit blowing smoke about winning the fight, no wonder floyd wanted you drug tested.
Porter won this fight easy even thought he fought two opponents! Broner fouled all night long without ever receiving a point deduction until the 11th round?? I was beginning to think the ref was perhaps receiving a paycheck from Broner's camp or was just plain incompetent. At least in this fight loud mouth Broner was exposed again now hopefully he'll go away and keep his dry humping tactics off camera
Yeah get over it. It's a Jr Middleweight fight that just so happens to have the Middleweight title on the line. Any fighter fighting for the Middleweight title should be allowed to weigh in at the middleweight limit, if not then the fight should not be sanctioned. PERIOD! This accomodation just plain sucks. Not that the fight is happening but that the ruling bodies would sanction the fight when the champion insists the challenger weigh in under the limit.
Yawn
Porter agreed to it and he knows his body better than i do so i wont complain or say anything negative towards it. I love the fight. Thank you for making it happen
Yawn! Broner is to much of a showboat for me! Want to be a showman go to Hollywoow.
smh AB get his 0 taken now he a hype ,, smh yall jsut waiting for him tto lose so yall can say he hype but he have a better resume than GGG who yall hype non stop ,,
after he dispatches porter yall best give him his just do
Broner is NOT the real deal, you've seen the best he can do. Top 20 but never going to be a legitimate world beater.
If like in the GGG fight Dela Hoya gets to pick the judges then Lemieux can only win by knockout. Canelo is a good fighter but NOT a great fighter. He wins way to many fights by corrupt judging. Lara beat him easy, Mayweather blew him out but barely got the win and GGG won by wide decision and was lucky to get a draw. Only ones who think Canelo is great are his nuthuggers and his handlers.
Wow!! Schooled?? Lost maybe the secoñd round and beat the stuffing out of Brook!! Even Brook's team knew the end was close and did the right thing and threw in the towel to keep Brook from receiving a career shortening beating. As far as a fluke injury??? It was a punch, now If a light fell from the staging and hit him in the head that would be a fluke injury but not a punch. Brook looked awesome but was not strong enough to compete ( yet) at middleweight. As far as GGG he looked flat and lethargic but still was to much for Brook.
Canelo no longer deserves a shot
Canelo had his shot and chose to vacate his belt instead of having to face Golovkin. Think about it! He dumped his title so he wouldn't have to face Golovkin!! Enough said, Canelo chose flight over fight which clearly proves he knew and more importantly his team knew that he had little chance of winning that fight. Saunders holds the WBO belt now so Golovkin should try and make that fight, as for Canelo he's perfectly happy fighting blown up or washed up welterweights and just TALK tough. All this talk about Canelo yet when we had one real test against Mayweather he couldn't win a round and I'm convinced he only took that fight because of Mayweathers lack of punching power and him being the bigger, younger guy yet he lost almost every round anyway.
Going to be a Good Fight
I give Brook all the credit in the world for fighting GGG in the first place! Saunders, Canelo and all the legitimate middleweights are running from him. It isn't beyond the realm of possibilities the Brook could squeak out a win if he is stays sharp and moves, I give him no chance if he plants his feet and enters a shootout. That being said I honestly am puzzled by the Brook Hype, he's a big welterweight who other than Porter hasn't fought anyone memorable, never showed truely one punch knockout power as most of his knockouts came from wearing down smaller fighters. I expect him to be running for a round or two them be totally destroyed. His biggest problem will be where to go from here? Junior middleweights fighting Canelo? Certainly won't make welterweight anymore and if he looks to good he'll never get a chance against Canelo since he's not an undersized fighter with a weak chin. Should be a good fight for as long as it lasts
This won't be a great fight. Klitchko will be slow and very cautious and when he does do any thing it will be a punch followed by holding. At some point Joshua will nail him and put him to sleep. I see this as nothing more than Klitchko getting a final retirement check from the boxing fans. I'll watch the highlights the next day if there are any.
Money, Money
There is so much money to be made milking one of the many, many alphabet belts available now fighters don't want to risk losing. Take the heavyweights all the top fighters talk a lot of baloney but in the end fighting each other only happens when the money just gets so insane or the fighters start to decline and don't want to risk losing the big financial bonanza before they pack it in. Fury fought Wilder because he made a ton of money and Wilder saw Fury and ring rusty and not in peak shape. Joshua made a carrer at fighting big names when they were either old or he held a huge physical advantage and played it safe until he started believing his own press and lost to Ruiz. Joshua will now have a couple of fights with Ruiz and the rematch between Fury and Wilder won't happen anytime soon. Remember Mayweather and Pacman, both were on the downward swing and did it for the money
Joshua wins the rematch
I thought Joshua had *****s in his armor when it came to beating Wilder but not Ruiz. I'm no blind Joshua supporter by any means but I honestly believe he took Ruiz to lightly and I came to that conclusion when I saw how gassed he was in the 4th round. Anything can happen in a heavyweight fight but I truly believe Joshua will win the rematch if he wants it and will become a much more dangerous fighter after this because he will NEVER take anyone lightly ever again. We'll see and Fury better hope he loses because watch out after this!
Any of the top heavyweights today have some shot of beating the other. Bob Arum has nothing to lose saying Parker's going to win because he does have a shot. Now, if I was forced to bet on the fight I'd go with the smart money and pick Joshua but this is no mis-match. I just think a really good big guy usually gets beat by a really good bigger guy. Should be a decent fight
Never said he was in his prime. But power is the last thing to go and let's not pretend that Klitschko in any state wouldn't absolutely smash Ortiz.
It's funny that you call me a fanboy but come up with such absolutely hilariously retarded statements such as Ortiz is somehow a better fighter than Klitschko despite never proving it :lol1:
durp Jennings doe
The Klitchko that fought Joshua would have been knocked out by Ortiz.
Joshua is hiding from Wilder
Wilder still trying to fool the gullible casuals that he wants the Joshua fight. :lol1:
You must be living under a rock!! Joshua's promoter has done everything possible to avoid any real credible fights for Joshua. Wilder has fought everyone who has stepped up. Joshua and his team has avoided Ortiz like the plague yet Wilder steps up. The big difference between both fighters is simple Joshua fights safe fights while Wilder pursues fights with the best and avoids no one! Hearn makes a weak offer to Wilder knowing it's so embarrassing there is zero chance it'll be taken seriously then brags he tried. What a lame ass. Should be a 50-50 fight but it will never happen. Joshua is all media generated hype. Who has he fought? He won the title fighting an embarrassing stiff then his big claim to fame is winning a fight against a washed up Klitchko who had already just lost and it took getting up off the floor to do it. Now Joe Parker? Come on!!! Who's next after that? Some english golden glove fighter maybe?
