Forget about throwing punches the way pacquaio was, you cant even lift your arm upto write properly, you can hardly write. A severely torn or Broken shoulder would have been noticeable from down the street. Also how come not a single moment throughout the fight nobody ever asks Manny "hows the shoulder doing"? Isnt that normal?. People forget Manny is the biggest sore loser in bixing. "I lost because of cletoreyes gloves", "I would have knocked bradley out but I had leg cramps", "I got knocked out because I(nothing to do with Marquez) was being over aggressive, "I had a severely torn shoulder". Even Arum made him look like a fool after saying "thats an OLD injury".
Who cares about the shoulder now? Whether it's true or not, get over it already. Pac is sticking to his guns on the issue.
Let's start focusing on the rematch, because that's what's going to happen anyway.
Even the term severely doesn't describe the extent of the injury. I can say I severely tore my hamstring based on my feeling and be exaggerating. But truth of the matter is that if something was severely TORN he would not have been able to keep his hand up due to fatigue and pain of just holding it up, let alone fighting with it. Hopkins said it best.. There is no way he had a torn shoulder while he was hitting mitts and heavy bags with that much power just 10 days out. No way he is promising KO with a torn shoulder. Roach even said this is the strongest Manny has ever hit me blah blah... This is the best training camp blah blah... Save it Manny
The hamstring is a major muscle the rotator cuff is mostly for stability.
The circumstances are different. Floyd beat Castillo and beat him again in the rematch. Manny lost to Floyd and used it as an excuse for his loss.
But, ok. Giving you the benefit of the doubt..
Since you brought up Hypocritical, let's turn the tables.
And let's say Floyd had lost and claimed a shoulder injury, and the commission had pulled out a medical questionnaire proving Floyd didn't mark the "Yes" box about an injury to his shoulder... how would you and the the legion of Pac fans react to his announcement??!!!
I'll tell you what would happen.
Full front page newspaper and website ads would be bought and printed in huge letters stating... "Manny Pacquiao Has Beaten The Coward American Who Claims He Lost Because Of A Shoulder Injury!!!! Hardy Har, Har!! Don't Make Us Laugh!! He should hang for His Transgressions!! Send His Ass Back To Africa!! Let Him Float In the Denial River In Egypt!!! "
So you see? Either way you cut it. It comes back to the timing of Manny's excuse for the loss and his omission of a shoulder injury on a pre-fight medical questionnaire.
.
I can sum up your post in three words.

Sorry but it was a mistake of not checking the correct checkbox not that nobody knew about it prior to the fight. So if people knew about it and admitted that point, check box or no checkbox, the injury was already brought up BEFORE the fight!
As for keeping his mouth shut, Floyd nor his fans were able to do that whenever Castillo thread's came up. Floyd used the injury excuse and his fans did too even in recent threads. So I find it kinda hypocritical. If you go back to those threads, nobody really even criticized you Floyd fans for doing the same thing but its been going on for years and years.

It's not USADA's role to treat injuries nor to be Team Pac's messenger.
USADA's role was to poke Manny's arms and collect his urine samples.
Team Pac's responsibility was to let the commission know he had a pre-exisiting injury that was acting up and that he may need pain killer shots in his shoulder 3 weeks before the fight.
The NSAC already stated the timing of Pac's "excuse", err uuumm... request for pain killer shots was too late before the fight was to take place.
I know you're a huge Pac fan but c'mon, ADP02. Pac should've kept his mouth shut and taken the loss like the champ he is.

Even with a healthy shoulder, he loses. Shoulder wasn't the problem, he couldn't cut the ring. He had no answer for the check hook, the jab, the lead right, nothing. As soon as Floyd touches the ropes he springs off with a check hook and escaped, Manny had no answer for this.
What good is a healthy shoulder when Floyd proved too elusive and intelligent.
Floyd looked lost against Castillo and used the same excuse btw. Floyd won in the rematch. Similar fight but Floyd pulled it out at the end.
Just pretend it was Floyd and you would get it.
USADA knew for a good 3 weeks. Doctor confirmed and prescribed the pain killers. For what? for his injury ....
In that same form, did Manny hide the pain killers used too? NO! Did the competent commission ask why that was used and if it would be required for the fight? No.
Yes, the check box was not checked correctly but they also told the commissions that there was an injury that required pain killers. When? Before the fight.
So there was plenty of talk about the injury prior to the fight that even Floyd fans would get.
BTW- in the Castillo fight, all it took was Floyd's word and you Floyd fans used that excuse in every Castillo vs Floyd thread ..... but Floyd was injured, that is why he had a bad day. :bounce:

Difference with Floyd is he beat the champ and proved beyond a shadow of a doubt it wasn't a fluke in the rematch.

So now we go back to... Why would he mark the "No" box on the pre-fight medical questionnaire asking if he had any injuries to his arm, shoulder, etc., and then swing for the fences against Floyd for 12 rounds, and not even mention his shoulder in the post-fight inside the ring interview,
but only bring it up during the post-fight press conference???!!!
"He didn't mention it 'cause he's a warrior like that" doesn't fly with lots of people and is getting more people irritated at the timing of his "excuse".

The official word from Top Rank was that there wasn't an injury. So why the need for a shot?
Somebody in the camp is lying.
They've been trying to have Manny looking like a saint after the inevitable loss, and tip toeing around the issue of the questionnaire they got busted lying about.
It's almost as if Team Pacquiao pre-planned the excuse in case he lost by claiming the... "NSAC knew about the injury before the fight", and timed it to where they would bring it up less than 2 hours before the fight was to take place so that Manny could get some pain injections.
Manny could then be seen punching with abandon and in rapid succession with no let-up for 12 rounds.
.
He injured it about 3 or so weeks before the fight. Used pain killers during that period. USADA and commissions brought up the shoulder injury befor e the fight too including the pain killers.
Got better but as you can see, he never recovered and it got worse during the fight. Manny had surgery. Should be enough that even a blind man can understand.
BTW - Floyd said same thing happened during the Castillo fight hence his poor performance. Floyd lifted his arms, thru punches, bla bla bla ..... but Floyd fans used it as an excuse too without questioning nor asking to see MRIs, doctors notes ......

Bull**** alert! A torn rotator cuff to the extent Manny needed surgery is so painfull there is just no way he fought the entire fight with it. He may have injured his shoulder some before the fight and finally tore it late in the second half of the fight but that's not why he lost! Looks at all the tape leading up to the fight showing Manny sparring and hitting the heavybag. Don't get sucked in by the PR he lost and this injury is being used by the PR specialists hoping to turn it into cash from suckers who think a second fight would be any different.
Believe me if enough suckers bite they're be a rematch, manny will chase floyd again lose on points and make another 50 million doing it. Don't fall for it

He did not rupture it, he suffered a tear, there is a difference.
Tear is a limitation, its painful but you still can have full range of motion. He could have suffered a tear in the muscles or tendons.
Rupture or completely torn, he would have not been able to lift his arm, punch, whatever. This is what the flom0s are insinuating, but too stupid to understand this did not happen.

Not all shoulder injuries are the same. Not all knee injuries are the same. Not all broken noses are the same. You can't use a generic diagnosis to apply to every case. If you don't believe me, ask your doctor.
Mayweather should know considering he claimed to have had the same injury in the first Castillo fight.
Without surgery , x ray, MRI , Physical Therapy at that

Does anybody in here actually know what a broken or severely torn shoulder is?!?!? | BoxingScene Community
