Wladimir Klitschko was never really embraced by the average boxing fan, despite dominating a lackluster heavyweight division for the better part of a decade. He understands why, even as he looks to change his ways in what could be his last hurrah next week against Anthony Joshua in London. Click Here To Read More]
Just like you guys thought Floyd vs Manny was going to be exciting, Floyd came out and did what he always does and thats WIN a boxing match, by doing what he did to become an undefeated World boxing champion, Klitschko is going to do the same and win a boxing match. :boxing:
Except Klitschko is shot to sh*t and Floyd wasn't.
Could Wladmir lose a 2nd fight to a 2nd ex sparring partner? I don't think it's ever happened before in the history of the HW division. I could be wrong.
That "history and time" are not on his side is not necessarily true. Vladimir is an exceptional physical specimen, especially as a forty one years young heavyweight. He has far more experience, having fought the top heavyweights of the last dozen years. Joshua is very good and is a threat but he has never fought anyone who is the caliber of Vlad Klitschko. I hope and expect Vlad will go into this fight as a hunter with the skills to back up his resolve. Don't be too surprised if he gets to Joshua early and often.
He seems pretty cool, but you have to wonder how Joshua will feel when he walks out into 90,000 people. I think Wlad has fought in front of 40-60k before multiple times? AJ has a lot of pressure on him here--especially at home in front of the Brits. I've also noticed he's doing things a bit out of character like swearing in twitter wars with Fury and predicting the knockout in interview after interview, which is something he has always avoided saying. Things that could mean nothing at all, but I just thought they seemed out of the ordinary. I feel like the odds just shrunk barely a bit again, but I can't remember for sure what they were the last time I looked at them.
"Now it's different, and I like the feeling that I don't have any pressure." -Wladimir Klitschko. Well, Wlad, if you lose this fight, it will be back to back losses & you're 41. You'll be seen as washed up, old & done. You'll probably never get another meaningful fight again. So yeah, no pressure.
It's him that's boring, not his dominance, Tyson wasn't boring and nor was Lewis most of the time. Even his brother was less boring.
It's just you Wlad, sorry chap.
I hope he beats Joshua though, but it's not that likely.
Klistchko is saying the right things, because the only way he wins this, is if he fights like he did pre Emmanuel Stewart. Early in his career, he WAS a seek and destroy hunter. He better lay AJ out quick, because as soon as AJ touches that chin, its lights out!
Styles make fights... Tyson Fury is just all wrong for Wlad. Always was & always will be. Joshua on the other hand doesn't have those benefits. Wlad will get his signature win.
Wlads saying g all the right things and he's convincing me real well he's got one last great performance in him.
But he's had a great career it's got to end one day. And josh is good. So it points to wlads career being passed over.
But I don't know. Wlad may still have it?
To come back at 41 Wlad must be confident and fired up. He looked so complacent and jaded against Fury. Like he felt burdened with defending a belt and almost bored. This time he's an underdog and he loves the challenge. I see an upset.
Yaaaaaaaaawwwwwnnnnn, I got bored and almost fell asleep reading this article.
Well, you've got that right Klitschko you were/are very boring with that jab, grab and hold that you do. Yeah, the majority of Americans never warmed to the Klitschko's, either of them.
Part because of being bored by them and part because the Heavyweight division was at it's worst in boxing history as far as depth, talent and competition was concerned.
I hope Klitschko doesn't make this fight boring on the 29th, man I hope not. I hope Joshua can force the issue at his pace and make Klitschko fight at his pace. We will see.

This won't be a great fight. Klitchko will be slow and very cautious and when he does do any thing it will be a punch followed by holding. At some point Joshua will nail him and put him to sleep. I see this as nothing more than Klitchko getting a final retirement check from the boxing fans. I'll watch the highlights the next day if there are any.
exactly what i think. it will be a very boring fight. but i do not evev expect a knock out by AJ cause klitschko has the expirience to avoid it. we will see a boring point win by AJ...
If Wlad follows up on what he's saying here and just walks out and starts throwing punches at AJ, then literally any outcome is possible. Both these guys pack enough power to knock the other spark out if they land anything flush.
It could happen that way. The atmosphere at Wembley, with 90,000 AJ fans baying for Wlad's blood, will be unlike anything he's ever seen before. Even Wlad may not be able to keep his cool, and he might just go for it from the first bell with everything he has.
I don't think this is going to be a boring fight at all.
