DEONTAY WILDER doubled down on claims Anthony Joshua has been avoiding a fight with him for more than two years. The American knockout king made an appearance on First Take this week ahead of his forthcoming WBC heavyweight championship clash with Cuban Luis Ortiz on Saturday night. Click Here To Read More]
ancient also...but that 41 yr old Klit fought one of the best fights of his career
But how do we really know that? Klitschko went life and death with Joshua. What if Joshua isn't that good? Which is why an ancient Klitschko was so competitive?
I'm not saying that's the case, I'm just saying there's no way for us to know.
Let's look at a few facts:
Length of time pro: Wilder 10 years, Joshha 4 years
Record: wilder 39-0 (38 KO), Joshua 20-0 (20 KO)
rounds: Wilder 113, Joshua 65
Beaten unbeaten fighters: wilder 6, Joshua 5
World title fights:
Wilder: Stiverne (decision), Molina (9 rounds), duhaupus (11 rounds), szpilka (9 rounds), arreloa (8 rounds), Washington (5 round), Stiverne (1 round).
Joshua: Martin (2 round), brazeale (7 round), Molina (3 round), klitschko (11 round), takam (10 round).
What to make of it?
Well people can have opinions but in my eyes it's clear Joshua has not only stepped up to challenges earlier in his career but also has a strong selection of defenses. Molina is probably the only one of those defenses you would consider a real bum, otherwise you would've considered others decently ranked opposition. Joshua has been pretty dismissive of his opponents, with only klitschko really winning rounds against him. Wilder on the other hand spent a much longer time beating lower opposition, hence why he became champion after so many fights. Looking at his defenses. They aren't against strong opposition really, it's hard to make a case for any of them being real top 10 contenders. Not only that but the majority have taken him most the distance. This is actually quite odd given wilders supposed power, how does it take so long to break them down with a single punch if he has quick hands and power?
I would love to see whyte fight wilder as a good comparison point versus Joshua, can whyte take punches in the same way? Molina, the only other contender to face both, rocked wilder and did take punches early on against wilder before being destroyed later on. When facing Joshua he barely got a punch and looked not only outclassed but combos took him out really quickly.
Having seen all that analysis it really leads to Joshua being the favorite, and a clear one at that.
Stiverne was #2 in the world when Wilder shut him out. How is that not a legit opponent? Why are you rewriting history?
Since that fight, Wilder scheduled fights with Povetkin and King Kong, both of whom were caught cheating. How is that Wilder's fault?
Sorry I dont believe Stiverne was any good. Best win is Chris Arreola for crying out loud. No need to rewrite history. You denying histroy, Wildher's resume is an absolute joke, can you seriously deny that? If so you are an absolute waste of time, as proven in the past.
Hearn should have a milk company soon by milking his Diva all this time, staying as far away from Wilder with all his fraud excuses, I hear him saying Baby Miller and all the rest of the bums except the fight the real boxing fans want to see, next he’ll move his Diva to HBO, so that will be the next cop out excuse!!!
Wilder is the diva here Mr. Beensucken. He's the one begging for a payday.
What are you even TALKING about??? Wilder is a liar because he called out a fighter who was already fighting? Has that NEVER happened before in the history of boxing? It is a time honored tradition. Hagler had to call out everyone, and chased Sugar Ray for near a decade for that payday. Everyone in the 147 division is out hunting Keith Thurmond for that payday. Geez, some of the lesser names are calling out Spence to get that payday knowing he is waiting around on Thurmond. In Manny's and Floyd's top earning years their names were on everybody's Christmas wish list they asked Santa for.
Man, I need an adult beverage.....:friday:
Calling out boxers will last forever - I didn't say anything about this. You can't call out a boxer who is already tied up with another opponent and then say that boxer is ducking you.
After Wilder and AJ dealt with their mandatories, that would have been a good time to sit down and thrash out details - when it can actually happen. Aside from the promo directly after Wilder flattened Stiverne - there was nothing substantial apart from cheap social media interviews and videos.
Come on.
You must be living under a rock!! Joshua's promoter has done everything possible to avoid any real credible fights for Joshua. Wilder has fought everyone who has stepped up. Joshua and his team has avoided Ortiz like the plague yet Wilder steps up. The big difference between both fighters is simple Joshua fights safe fights while Wilder pursues fights with the best and avoids no one! Hearn makes a weak offer to Wilder knowing it's so embarrassing there is zero chance it'll be taken seriously then brags he tried. What a lame ass. Should be a 50-50 fight but it will never happen. Joshua is all media generated hype. Who has he fought? He won the title fighting an embarrassing stiff then his big claim to fame is winning a fight against a washed up Klitchko who had already just lost and it took getting up off the floor to do it. Now Joe Parker? Come on!!! Who's next after that? Some english golden glove fighter maybe?
Couldn’t of said it any better!!!
If 38 is ancient, what does that say about the 41 year old Klitschko that AJ beat? ancient also...but that 41 yr old Klit fought one of the best fights of his career. Skillwise - Klit is on another level than Ortiz, who has looked terrible, old, and slow as molasses since beating Jennings over 3 yrs ago.
The guy who has nothing but bums on his record, avoided Vit till he retired, waited for two guys younger than him and with less fights to step up to Wlad, wants to criticize others?
What a punk goof. He really earned the name Beyoncé.
AJ been avoiding him for years? LOL Well that’s a lie as Joshua only became world champ last year so he’s absolutely wrong there...I agree team AJ don’t seem keen right now with a potential Fury fight (much bigger payday) looming, but asking for 50/50 right now is ridiculous and doesn’t help his cause.

Joshua is hiding from Wilder
Wilder still trying to fool the gullible casuals that he wants the Joshua fight. :lol1:

if he beats a top guy, you guys just rewrite history and pretend it wasnt a top guy.
you did it with stiverne and youll do it again if he beats ortiz.
Lmao keep crying then.
I don't think AJ has been avoiding him, AJ himself only became relevant when he beats Martin for the belt. He had to build his own pathway, Wilder was busy with injuries, tune ups, Pedvetkin mandatory etc So to say years is cooking it lol. Hopefully the real boxing fans knows the difference.
This guy is a liar, he started mentioning AJ’s name when AJ was tied up with Pulev/Takam. He also had the Stiverne fight looming also, but his fans will believe whatever he says.

Wilder says they're at a stand off. He wants 50/50, which is ridiculous. The fight won't happen until he's realistic. He's pricing himself out, the casuals don't know or understand that though so Wilder can keep talking crap.
Oh, relax. There is no real "50/50" demand because no talks for an actual fight between Joshua and Wilder have ever occurred. EVERY fighter and promoter ask for the moon, sun, and stars of the big money maker to start with and in the headlines. It is the used car idea: You start high, I will start low, and if it is in the best interests of both parties we work it out and I drive it home.
Parker did the same exact thing, and oh so many "casuals" said the same thing you are accusing Wilder of- Parker was going to price himself out to keep his title. But in the end, Joshua provides the career best payday and the chance to change your career and become the top earner yourself if you win.
Wilder and Joshua will happen. When the dust settles on the Parker and Ortiz fights (provided both favorites win, obviously) and Joshua gets another payday for his crew, the drum beat will be too loud from the public, the payday will be both men's best, and both sides will work it out.
