The weigh-in is 36 hours before they even enter the ring. This isn't same day weigh-in draining, this is possibly the longest time before a weigh-in and fight I've ever seen. Geale and his sympathizers should just shut it, truly.
What 36 hours isn't enough to get back to speed and gain 15-20 pounds? Cotto's going to be outweighed by at least 10 and you act like he's going to be the bigger guy in there or something. It just hurts to hear Geale has almost 2 days to get weight back after the weigh in.
I'll make sure to take picture of Geale walking out with an IV in his arm.
Dude, just shut up.

So because the fight is 36 hours after the weigh-in it makes it acceptable to drain opponents with catchweights, ok we will all stop now.
There is no excuse for it, you will have to get used to people criticizing cotto for all the bs he has been pulling lately.
Maybe you need to look past your fanboyism and actually see the truth of it all.
It's okay to drain your opponents if they're dumb enough to sign a contract agreeing to be drained. I don't see the problem here...
Complaining that he won't be healthy simply isn't true. Will he be 100% Who knows, is anyone ever 100% going into a fight? But all this b*tching is pathetic he has plenty of time to recover... he signed the contract.

Yeah get over it. It's a Jr Middleweight fight that just so happens to have the Middleweight title on the line. Any fighter fighting for the Middleweight title should be allowed to weigh in at the middleweight limit, if not then the fight should not be sanctioned. PERIOD! This accomodation just plain sucks. Not that the fight is happening but that the ruling bodies would sanction the fight when the champion insists the challenger weigh in under the limit.
