Funny that all the Mayweather faithfuls are saying how competitive a matchup this is and at the same time are offering 4-1 odds.
Completely ignoring Mosley's age and layoff. If they fought eight years ago the odds would have been completely different! But some of these guys were in third grade eight years ago.
So if Floyd beats Mosley it wont be that he got old suddenly, he was old before the fight and many of us admitted it before the fight. And if Mosley exposed Mayweather, it won't be because he is young and active, it would be because even in age he is a good fighter!
no need for excuses when the facts are clear for everyone to see. however it really all depends on how mosley looks out there. if mosley shows good punch activity and movement, then floyd deserves credit for beating him. I'm very curious to see how mosley fights tonight... im skeptical that he will put on a very good performance after such a long lay off...
look Shane's almost 40 so cudos to him for takin the fight. As for Mayweather he's another media generated blowhard who ONLY fights guys he has some kind of physical advantage, small guys, old guys with names or guys past their prime. He brags he's the best ever and if he really believes that perhaps he already has been brain damaged. Sugar Ray leonard, or Sugar Ray Robinson would have totally embarrassed him but then again if boxing was'n t in the state it's in now he wouldn't have even had a chance. Is Mosley past his prime? Absolutely!! Does he have a chance in this track meet? yup! so that says alot about Mayweather. lol!! I won't spend a nickel to see the runner against the gunner, if I want to see a track meet I'll watch the summer olympics
Floyd makes A+ fighters look like D- fighters.
Mosley will be old, shot, not the same since the Winky fights, had mental stress with Jin, was blood drained, had a layoff, Margarito took everything out of him, his nose job got in the way of his eyes......
etc etc etc.
I am sure Mosley will be in the best shape his body will permit. If he looks his age, we will be subject to thread after thread about how Mayweather beat a prime Mosley and if he pulls of the upset, many of us will still know he could have even done better ten years ago. But either way we all will either be watching it of following it. It is still a big fight!
Yeah, Floyd had a layoff too, but those kind of don't have the affect on a younger fighter that they do on an older fighter. The reason I still have this close to an even fight is because Mosley does good when he's on the attack.
I am just wondering what the excuses from the Mayweather detractors will be...
he certainly isn't in his prime anymore considering how much of a hard time he had with Mayorga...but Mosley is still a A level fighter.
Well, what do you expect? This is the longest layoff of Mosley's career. And the only person you can't blame that on is Paul Williams. Berto, Pacquiao, and Mayweather up until now jerked him around and because of that he's gonna likely have ring rust going into the fight.
I am just wondering what the excuses from the Mayweather detractors will be...
Never mind them losers. At the moment Shane's fast, powerful and bigger.Mayweather hasnt faced anyone like that yet but come after Mayweather has destroyed him,'Floyd fights old men,Mosley was 38 and hadnt fought for more than a year'.What more can you say to such retards, just ignore them?
well, you can't give mayweather fans the satisfaction and then they can't give their own dues. so inside i'll give him props but not to hype up mayweather fans cause their heads will blow up.
I am just wondering what the excuses from the Mayweather detractors will be...
No need for excuses, facts are facts, Cotto beat him in 07, he is 39, inactive for over a year and half, look like shit against Mayorga but looked great against a tailor made opponent.
Ya kinda like when Mayweather dominated Marquez and Pac dominated Hatton. NEWSFLASH: That's what happens every single time dickhead. But thanks for asking.
Kill yourself, immediately...
No but we have to be objective and acknowledge the fact that Mosley is nearly 40, and hasn't fought in 16 months.
Still if Mayweather wins tonight, it will be a very good victory.
It is how he loses.
For example. Roy VS Calzaghe was bad, but he wasn't shot, he still had some.
Roy VS hopkisn was abd, Hopkins wasn't doing much and Roy looked bad. He is shot to me.
As a boxing fan, you should know this sort of thing yourself, but we all learn.
If Shane can't pull the tirgger, then I suspect he's done. His legs aren;t what they were and if his power and speed are gone, with a lack of output, I'd say he's done.
If he is worse than Hatton, JMM, he's done.
