I think once Stevenson feels kovalev's power, he will back pedal and try and potshot. Eventually I see kovalev getting to him and it being stopped by the ref
I'm not big on Stevenson. Nothing against him, he's a decent fighter.
I don't think he's champion caliber even tho he's got a belt
Dont really consider it a low blow, and i consider this a good thing for boxing. Fox sports has done some good things by having fights on Monday and now thursday. The more the merrier.
I mean more of a personal low blow for him.. Not being able to land a comeback date with a major network..
Im an Ortiz fan thru and thru.. I dont agree with his past decisions but I still support him..
I hope he gets to show that hate for Canelo in the ring one day with him..
Wow.
This has to be a low blow to Ortiz
Not even on Friday night fights?
I would like to see him fight canelo
I am one of the few people who thinks he beats him
I don't get the hate for Ward.. Hes absolutely CLEANED out his division with ease..
Beaten every challenge infront of him..
Hes pretty much the Hopkins of 168 division
Hopkins ran the middleweight division for years and cleaned it out and nobody was complaining..
Ward feels comfortable at 168.. Theres nothing wrong with that..
That being said, I really don't see any challenges for Ward at 168..
So its either go up to 175, or go to 160..
There's more options at 175 than 160 (GGG and Martinez)
His last performance was stellar after the 5th round once all the holding subsided.. He was landing shots at will, but they really had no effect on Rodriguez who was pretty much a 175lber that night..
I think he knew this and is thinking 160..
He would definitely beat GGG and Martinez..
With all this being said, I really dont enjoy his fights.. They are boring and have too much holding and mauling..
I respect him, hes no 2 in the world IMO
I remember how nobody respected Paulie before the cotto fight..
As his career progressed, he gained more respect from the boxing public..
He markets himself well and for a kid that didnt graduate, hes hella articulate..
Hes a great commentator as well as a good boxer..
Hes always a live underdog..
If he had power he'd wouldve beaten broner..
Try bounce bar...it's in the city I believe in the 80s on 2nd ave..nice place..I caught de la Hoya vs PAC there..they usually show big boxing fights there
Thanks meng..
There is no way for this thread to be legit....Manny fans can in no way say anything negative of this guy period...and the rest will just say what has been said in the past..."Ariza Shakes"
Look man, Im not trying to troll here.. I wanted to know the opinions of the posters here.. if hes a good strength and conditioning coach
Ive been a member of this site for years. I just dont post often
Talk to Ryan Songolia (spelling)
one of the few posters on this site who knows his **** and is a writer
dont know how successful he is tho..
good luck and have a plan B.. no shame in that man..
my job is my plan B and its working out pretty good so far
ups and downs in every profession.. just remember
Trout comes in angry, tries to out slug and KO Canelo and gets beat to a pulp for his efforts.
i see nothing indicative of a canelo victory..
if he wins i will be very suprised..
i dont like either fighter.. i just wanna see canelo lose.. hes overhyped.. if he beats trout i will give him respect
put it this way..
i dont see bradley having too much of a "problem" with broner..
broner would get outpointed
people are forgetting how good bradley really is and have that pacman fight still in their mind..
Peterson has the potential to make Khan look like a bag of **** in the latter half of the fight, just depends how he copes with Khan early on, sure Peterson aint got KO pop in them fists but he has enough to KO Khan for sure, he is also a more skilled boxer than Maidana and very steady, if he handles Khans speed and takes it inside Khan will struggle and he dose tire in the later stages because he goes mad early on, definetly, ppl aint giving Peterson enough credit dont underestimate this guy, Khan dont blitz these kinds of boxers.
My thoughts exactly.. Good post my doode
Seriously, my eyes watered at the end of that video when the "Coming home" song started playing. I wish nothin but the best for this guy and I will pray for his win on the Hopkins vs Dawson undercard. Win or lose, he has won the biggest fight of his life.
Same here man.. Thanks for posting.. good find!
I actually had the pleasure of meeting Collazo on saturday..
There was a small boxing event at the Resorts Casino in Queens, NY.
I saw him shaking a few hands and trying to keep a low profile..
He was thin, and looked like he was in good shape.. Weight was down, and I was surprised that I was actually larger than him..
Just for the few moments I was with him, it looked as if he was a man who looked like he was working too hard to do something like that..
My friend and I took a quick picture and told him that we felt he won the hatton and berto fight. He quickly stuck his hand out for a hand shake and said "thank you man. I really appriciate that" he looked like he was in pain from those losses.. Im a good judge on body language and it just doesnt seem like he'd throw a fight.. It was as if he had a chip on his shoulder from those bull**** losses..
The khan fight is very winnable. I pick Collazo by TKO...
Not trying to discredit Canelo, but everyone and their mother thought it was fixed.
Angulo wasn't throwing anything with conviction. We all know angulo doesn't like Canelo. Why was he pushing or throwing pitter patter shots?
Angulo might not had gotten the memo as far as the bull**** stoppage but I knew him and is team were on board with the fix.
It's a shame this still goes on in boxing.
Shame on GBP, Oscar and Schaeffer
I hate broner with a passion and hope he gets kayoed..
That being said, I dont see this being a difficult fight for broner.. I think hell cruise to a UD with some close swing rounds..
clean and presses, snatches, squats and deadlifts are all beneficial..
those are Olympic lifts that are explosive.. hes not bodybuilding.. just end the thread..
i dont know why everyone is hyping up canelo..
i realized that this forum is full of bandwagon riders..
nonetheless, canelo HAS not impressed me at all.. In any of his fights.. he has stamina issues.. ortiz would beat him from pillar to post.. im not a canelo hater, just a realist..
GBP would also never match them up.. for the same reason they wont match up ortix vs khan..
khan is flashy, and fast, but hes a Pre-Madonna. GBP knows if he gets hit by vic, its LIGHTS out..
To the original TS. If you feel Bradley isn't elite then you should re-evaluate your opinion on him.
I've been a Bradley fan since the witter fight.
He has no power but is very entertaining IMO. He tries, he's got the will to win.
He's small but he trains hard and can actually box.
Rewatch the Peterson fight, he schooled the **** outta him.
Peterson then went on to beat Khan.
I get it, people are still sour from the pacman fight which he in my opinion, lost clearly.
What more do you want from a man who puts everything he's got in the ring.
Eff the haters
I guess people are still bitter about the pac man fight.
Bradley is the cream of the crop. Has been since the witter fight.
He's not the most powerful guy around but he is damn good and pretty entertaining.
He beats everyone at 140-147 not named mayweather.
I balled up more than once.. It was a great piece by HBO.. you can see how much of an influence gatti had on the sport..
he was loved by so many, and hbo loved him as well.. ward is a true gentleman and an all around good person as well..
they left it all in the ring man..
RIP Arturo Gatti..
Its only so long you can go on about 2 C level fighters hitting each other. HBO is really missing Golden Boy Promotions.
Its just hard to take the opinion of a person with a big red K bar serious..
Haterfree? Sounds like your hating to me..
This is why I lurk more than post here, because retards like you are allowed to voice their worthless opinion..
When they are in top condition it is fairly close, but Floyd is always in top shape and Toney almost never is.
The truth.. Tony always had weight issues and loved food too much..
He didnt train around the clock my floyd did..
Toney was also extremely lazy.. both have the ability to make changes and adapt..
Id say floyd overall is a better boxer, but i liked toneys style much better.he stood right infront of you..
roy jones jr was probably on of the most overrated fighters ever, in his prime he looked spectacular against bums and cab drivers and then he moved up to heavyweight and fought john ruiz(r u kidding me) and won a paper championship and didnt roy jones duck that eastern european guy, forgot what his name was
This is how most people on this forum feel about him.. which is fine..
He was not over rated at all.. In fact, he was the most dominant champ in history... i really dont remember losing a round in his prime. Ive seen most of his fights..
He was truly something special.. Its really easy to sit here and say he was over rated and fought bums.. Fact of the matter is, in his prime, he was pretty much undefeated (griffin was a DQ). He beat a Prime Toney, and Hopkins no sweat..
He isnt even a former shell of himself. Hes just a journeyman who is content to fight for money..
Roy was truly great.. fastest hands ever p4p (meldrick taylor gives him a run for his money)
