I'll pay for it and I'll tell you why.
If these four matches are on PPV (Judah/Mosley, Juarez/Barrios, Cabellero/De Leon, and Bika/Codrington) you're guaranteed to be entertained throughout.
Oh he won, but if he's to fight Mayweather again, he gets knocked out again and in quicker fashion. Stay at 140 and hopefully get out before you face the young guns, Ricky.
Roy Jones Jr. shouldn't price himself out of the fight? Are we talking about the same RJJ that just did 500K on PPV? That RJJ?
If anything, Roy should be the one getting the larger share since this fight is going to wind up in the States.
I'm torn. Ever since I saw Pavlik fight Zertuche, I became a fan instantly. He's got star qualities.
However, the only thing that worries me about Kelly is his defense. Zertuche and Miranda both landed flush, clean shots on him and while Taylor doesn't have Miranda's power, he is much more skilled and can land punches in bunches.
Taylor's a complete mystery to me. I never thought he should have won that fight against Bernard the first time around and didn't think he beat Winky Wright. And of course, the last two lousy performances.
Anyways, my heart says Pavlik TKO 11, but there's something telling me this goes the distance with Taylor winning with a UD.
The way I see it now is that Pacquiao could fight David Diaz in late February and Juan Diaz could fight Michael Katsidis in early March. Assuming they both win, July or August would seem like a perfect date for them to meet.
Kinda hard not to be if you're a real sports fan. Two undefeated fighters in their primes putting it all on the line in front of 60,000 people? It's old school boxing to a T.
He should be moving up and fighting David Diaz. If/when he beats Diaz, he'll then should look to fight Juan Diaz.
This is what really matters right now. Not him fighting Valero or even Juan Manuel. Step up your game Manny.
The best word to describe Juan Diaz is "buzzsaw." He DOES NOT stop the entire three minutes in a round. Manny Pacquiao's got a real challenge ahead of him in 2008.
He'll easily dispose of David Diaz. Look at what Diaz did against a way past his prime Erik Morales! It's not like he dominated that fight folks. Pacquiao rolls right through David Diaz. Hopefully, Manny doesn't back down when the winner of Saturday's fight comes calling.
1. Floyd Mayweather
2. Manny Pacquiao
3. Bernard Hopkins
4. Joe Calzaghe
5. Israel Vasquez
6. Juan Manuel Marquez
7. Winky Wright
8. Miguel Cotto
9. Kelly Pavlik
10. Wladimir Klitschko
He hits REALLY HARD. I was sitting up in the 200's and you could see, hear, and feel the impact of his punches.
My only worry about him is that he leaves himself open for some easy shots.
It's absurd to be honest with you. Hey, this fight had a major racial backdrop and yes, many of Pavlik's fans were white (probably has a lot to do with his hometown make-up).
Personally, Kelly's been my favorite fighter since I saw him beat Zertuche, but Cotto and Juan Diaz are my two others. And last time I checked, they weren't white.
Plus, I love Floyd Mayweather. The man's got the best personality in the history of the world.
So it sold slightly better than originally predicted. We knew it was a PPV juggernaut 5 months ago.
No kidding. I was just posting an update on the business for the fight since, you know, this is a boxing forum. Excuse me. Maybe I'll make another Mayweather/Hatton thread instead.
