He admitted PED abuse and was banned by the british boxing authorities. Its not a rumor. He's obviously been using again to shift all this weight so quickly.
He never admitted ped use. He admitted missing a test and accepted a backdated ban from it. All steroid allegations were bs and he was never charged for nandralone or anything else.
Yes, his was significantly worse than Fury's.
V Klitschko had severe and free flowing cuts inside his mouth and on his tongue also.
It seems that notable fact is being overlooked.
Not only that, but he had way more than 2 cuts total.
Vitali's cuts were horrendous. A couple more of Lennox's right hand bombs and he could have legitimately been blinded. That one on his eyelid was horrendous. No way that should have continued.
Fury's was very bad, but it was positioned ok. Wallin should have had a point or two taken for blatant taking with the glove.
Fury and Wilder both ducked Andy for years. Makes me wonder why they were so fearful.
Hahahahaha! Really hope this is clickbait.
Fury would beat Ruiz with one hand, 10 times in a row. It would be a massacre.
I'll be shocked if this happens, but happy. Big gamble for Fury this early in his comeback. If he's back to where he was, or close, he can beat Wilder.
Wilder can be fairly easily outboxed as we've seen with Arthur Spiltzka and King Kong but his equaliser makes him dangerous as hell throughout.
Hearn talked about Wilder and Fury the entire AJ promotion.. lol.
Exactly! Haha. Hearn just even used this promotion to make a "new improved" offer to Wilder knowing he's got a fight!
Wilder doesn't need to beat anyone to get the fight in April. The fight is already there. Plus, how is it all going to come together if Wilder is asking for half the money? We need to get past that first.
The fight isn't there though mate. Hearn doesn't want the fight and will make Whyte v AJ in April. Hearns been hinting about that for ages just like he hinted at Povetkin in September and said for a long time that Wilder is the ultimate roll of the dice and that they want to wait.
Hearn's offer will be the same lowball offer as before, knowing that Wilder won't accept this one (and shouldn't have accepted the flat fee offer before). He'll try to negotiate a % but Hearn will then use that to say Wilder is ducking and will then make the Dillian Whyte fight instead.
I think, realistically, the only way he can get AJ next is if he knocks out Whyte in the meantime.
Listening to Eddie Hearn wax lyrical about Joshua being loved is cringe worthy.
"One of the best performances in boxing history". You've got to be taking the piss.
I recommend any boxing fan Google that podcast with Joe Rogan and have it playing in the background, gripping stuff. Tyson certainly isn't a formulaic product of the business. In fact he's never come across as being more human. If he comes back and beats Wilder would make quite a movie because you'd struggle to write what he's been through in the last 3 years. Credit where it's due. To put it into perspective the easiest hurdle to overcome was losing 160lb, or in other words, a middleweight!
Best podcast ever. I'm a big fan of Fury from way back, and glad people can finally hear the real story. What he's achieved is epic. His story is immense.
Nah, he said would retire before the fight took place either way, so unless that was BS, boxing didnt retire him. Anyway, who cares? He took on the king. He did what so many others this generation failed to do, and that's why there are so many angry arguments between boxing fans now because no one is getting the opportunities they deserve to prove themselves, so we end up with situations like GGG's career where the debate will never end as to how good he was, or was not, in his prime, because no name fighters gave him a chance in his prime.
Bellew gave Usyk that chance, like a true champion. Massive respect for Bellew. And he gave a hell of a fight too. He let all his bullets go, and he let them go intelligently. Usyk just dodged most of them, and had the chin to take the ones he got caught with, but Bellew left it all out there. If they fought 100 times like this, Bellew would have KO'd him at least a couple times, because of how well he was fighting. Respect.
You've got to respect Bellew for that. He talks too much and annoyed a lot of people but he's done well, and getting in with Usyk showed the type of character he had. He did all he could and had a good first few rounds but Usyk was just too good.
He used his feet to pressurise him and made Tony work very hard early without throwing much himself. Then when he'd felt the power and saw he was slowing him down he stepped it up, systematically took him apart and knocked him out. Tony did well but got a false sense of security fron the first 3 rounds. It was a great tactical performance from Usyk.
Looking forward to him moving up. His feet alone will cause a lot of the heavies trouble.
Fury would cause AJ problems all night but if AJ hands on him. It's goodnight.
Joshua's power isn't that devastating. I think it's a bit overrated to be honest and I think he'd struggle to land many against Fury. His feet are quite slow and he's fairly predictable.
People immediately think that because Fury got dropped against Cunningham and Pajkic that he's chinny and as soon as AJ lands he'll get knocked out. For both of those shots he was caught completely square on and walked onto huge haymakers, he wasn't really hurt badly by either of them and I just think that he won't be there to be hit by Joshua, certainly not square on like that. His movement, angles and feints will confuse Joshua and I personally think that he will outbox him and stop him late.
Stylistically he's Joshua's nightmare.
The Mcguigans were bleeding Frampton dry, they were all on the payroll. It's well known that Quigg made a lot more money than Frampton in their fight despite being the B side.

Yeah....I remember when this was brought up in the pre fight press conference. Every single person in Ireland with the surname McGuigan was dipping into Frampton's purse. I mean, when you end up paying Barry's musician son who has a name like Blain a % then you know really have to reflect on whether this is the right approach.
They probably ended up trying to charge Frampton for the Gutierrez injury as well.
As for that picture in your quote...that nearly made me spit out my morning tea. Excellent.
I thought Shane was a good trainer until the lead up to the 2nd Leo Santa Cruz fight. Wrong approach altogether, saying Santa Cruz could only ever fight one way, and that's all they prepared for, then when Leo starts to box they're ****ing lost. I was so angry watching that fight. Bad attitude, stupid tactics. You could argue that a great fighter will always find a way, but I think that all that bull**** they were feeding him, building his ego, telling him he would easily outbox him the 2nd time round, nevermind winning Fighter of the Year all round, bad ****.
Nevertheless, Frampton is an elite level fighter. Great jab, power in both hands, footwork, smarts, heart, fluid movement - the one thing he lacks is a good engine. I mean he can go the twelve rounds all right, but he does gas, time and time again, has managed to get away with it so far. Watched him at the open workout today, hopefully he gets back in the mix next year, back where he belongs.
100%. He didn't have a clue what to do. Leo Santa Cruz was even telling him in the build up exactly what he was going to do. Frampton was not prepared to do anything differently, Shane didn't know how to prepare him.
This coming from the guy who's most common saying is "I'll leave it to my team." "I've got a great team who look after all that stuff". He's such an idiot.
I enjoyed the fight on Saturday but I thought AJ looked really predictable against Wlad. He really struggled to land anything at all until the 5th. No feints, no angles, just loaded up shots from afar which Wlad easily moved from. It was only in the 5th when he started really fast unexpectedly when he finally caught him and hurt him.
AJ needs to add more creativity to his game, he relies on his power and combinations without using his feet or feints to open up angles and opportunities. Fury's movement, footwork and constant twitching will completely bamboozle him otherwise. He wouldn't be there to be hit.
Fury has way more variety to his game and when he boxes long he is way to awkward for AJ and UD's him easier than he did Wlad in my opinion.
When Haye returns then he will be already 37 and even a worse fighter than Saturday night. And he looked shot against Bellew. No chance in hell against the elite Heavyweights !
Yeah, Haye looked terrible even before the injury. Much slower than before, awful footwork and really bad technique. I was shocked at how sloppy he was before his achilles went.
As opposed to being robotic, stiff and green as a cut shoot?
Wlad, despite his age, had a phenomenal wealth of experience. What experience does Joshua have? He's only had to deal with adversity once in his professional career, and he didn't even hit the deck, just got momentarily wobbled. He's never had to go the distance, never had to dig deep when his lungs are burning and his limbs feel like lead and he's down on all the cards. He's never had to adapt because his current game plan isn't working. He's used to having everything his own way.
Yes his hunger and freshness can be an asset, but it can also be a hindrance, and if he can't land those shots on Fury which he was able to land on all his other opponents to date how well does he cope with that? Fury's the slipperiest and most unorthodox fighter in the division. Let's see how Joshua handles a guy like Szpilka or Scott before proclaiming him official Fury bane.
Great post.
The last time Joshua fought someone who didnt just stand there to be pummelled was Felix Savon in the Olympics, a fight in which he struggled a lot. Until I see him deal with someone with decent footwork I dont see him winning a round against Fury.
Fury boxing smart off the back foot with all his head movement and feints makes him a very hard man to beat.
For once I actually want Audley to win.
If he avoids the right hand he might last a few rounds and make it difficult for the wild one, but then again, he's not very good at avoiding right hands!
I'm looking forward to this Saturday's boxing, and I think Cleverley could shock a few people on here...
Hopefully his chin is as good as it is claimed to be, otherwise it will be good night.
Fury cracks me up, and I like Haye too. They're both huge characters and they are going to make this fight massive, I can't wait to be in the MEN Sept 28th, the atmosphere is going to be crazy.
I really hope this happens. This fight will be even bigger than Haye V Chisora, and they could probably even do it at either of the Manchester football stadiums.
The pre fight banter will be hilarious, and the fight will be explosive. Fury is no where near as fast or athletic as Wlad and when Haye gets inside his jab and lands the right hand, I can't see Fury taking it. Having said that, no way will Fury fight as recklessly as he did against Cunningham, he will be MUCH more disciplined and will fight more like he did against Johnson.
Hoping for Haye KO and then taking on Vitali.
Hughie has got a solid jab, great footwork and nice movement. If he's healthy and fully recovered from his illnesses he could box the swede off of the Kiwi.
He's vastly underrated I ny opinion, a lot of people don't know much about him but for a 22 year kid who's been fiarly inactive with health issues he's got some decent names on his record and could cause a big shock here.
I did keep it on subject, you made it sound like a 5’10 shouldn’t ko a someone so I was just trying to remind you Tyson is 5’10. No hard feelings. Let’s enjoy the fight and see what happens.
I said Wilder got knocked out by a 5'11 eastern European but that DOESNT mean he'd get KO'd by just anyone...just like because Fury got dropped when he was wide open has no relevance to him getting dropped by Wilder.
Why hate when you can laugh!
Haha! Fury cracks me up. Love him or hate him he sure is entertaining and brings some much needed hype to the HW division!
The man just loves to talk smack!
