TYSON FURY's awkward style of fighting could see him overcome Deontay Wilder in the ring. That's according for former world champion David Haye. Tyson Fury announced a deal was close with the American fighter yesterday. Click Here To Read More]
I think Wilder attacking Fury's body will be the key. Not sure if he'll do that though. Wlad didn't either.
I don't believe Wilder has enough technique to land consistently on Fury's body. You need skill to expose the body and time your work there, Wilder is a straight up headhunter.
It is interesting, I don't think Fury can actually hurt Wilder so it'll be a points game of Fury outboxing Wilder and surviving Wilder's right hand.
Fury does not need to hurt Wilder. What Fury can do is to outbox him and win by UD. It's a shame that Wilder will consider fighting someone below top 5
I agree, but it's probably the right fight to take. It shows Wilder is serious, and it doesn't look great for Hearn who portrayed Team Wilder as the ones being difficult to negotiate with. Up until now, British posters on here seem indifferent as to weather Joshua fights Wilder or not, talking more about Joshua's celebrity appeal than his boxing prowess. If Wilder beats Fury, they may start to change their tune about the fight.
You are absolutely correct. Deontay Wilder has come a long way. He is calling out the best possible challengers out there in the heavyweight division. This is his second undefeated challenger in a row.
It's clear and obvious as night and day that Hearn and Joshua wanted no parts of the "Bronze Bomber" that's why they continued to avoid and duck him. I commend Wilder for giving us boxing fans the fights we want to see.
He cares for his fans while AJ does not. This is his gift to us. The battle between two undefeated champions and I can't wait.
This fight should be very exciting. I must say that I am very pleased and enthused about this match up because it's the best fighting the best.

I think Fury has enough power to hurt fighters, he just rarely sits down on his shots. He still has a pretty good knockout ratio. Plenty of guys have said he hits harder than you think. We know how tough Chisora is and he had to get pulled out in the second Fury fight. Hammer got pulled out too but went the distance with Povetkin. Fury can bust fighters up.
I think all these guys can hit hard enough to hurt with the right shot. Chisora isn't a puncher yet he just knocked Takam out in a way some big punchers didn't.
That said, i'm not sure Fury will plant his feet long enough to really throw hard shots v Wilder, so unless Wilder jumps right into a stiff counter and gets wobbled, i agree that it'll be a points game. Wise enough really. Why would anybody stand infront of Wilder and fight? it'll end one way.
Fury v Wilder has always been the most intriguing fight for me. I think Fury makes AJ look very basic and i think Wilder finds AJ easy to hit, because he's too stiff and upright.
Fury v Wilder is the interesting one. I've always said that Fury (at his best) is the one HW around today that i could see being able to nullify Wilder's right hand for a full fight and beating him...but at the same time, you can never count Wilder out. He has a knack for landing the big shot. It's interesting for sure.

I've always maintained that the Vlad that showed up against AJ would have finished off any other heavyweight. The shot he dropped AJ with would have put anyone down.
Wilder flattens everyone bar AJ & Chisora.
Chisora?? Lol . You are a wind- up merchant. You are good that will really piss of the Americans. Unfortunately I can’t co- sign this mission as it is too dangerous .
Chisora is probably 25th best heavyweight in Europe. If I include Eastern Europe then 35th best. Joe Joyce stops him. Feather fisted Fury in his prime stopped him. He is very consistent he has probably been beaten in every country and continent he has fought. Good ol Del Boy
If fury head & body is tight, then he could present problems foe Wilder. Draw or maybe win a decision of a multi fight with Wilder. Wilder better not take this clown lightly. He’s no joke when he’s in his wheelhouse.
If Fury takes this fight after his next fight then he has zero chance, I wouldn’t even put him in with Tony Bellew after 3 fights, we are talking about a fighter that was away for 2 years with physical and mental issues. He is right for the picking right now. This is why most people who understand boxing are skeptikal about Team Fury taking the fight.
True true..
I think Wlad came at AJ because he didn't pull the trigger with Fury. I believe if he fought Fury in a rematch it would've looked different. Wlad fought like he was waiting for the perfect shot, instead of trying to create the opportunity for it. When Wlad got in with AJ he refused to make the same mistake again so he let his hands go. Wilder has a decent jab, good hand, and foot speed, and a long reach. If Fury was a lefty I wouldn't give Wilder a shot, because he'd nullify Wilder's jab like Ortiz did. I think Wilder will be able to land that one shot he needs, mainly because he never gets discouraged and Fury will win most of the early rounds.

I think Wlad was more aggressive with Joshua because he could be.
exactly. I said even before they fought that AJ would have been tailor made for Wlad a few years earlier. He was just a bit too far over the hill to make it count and he still almost did.
ANY natural HW that can actually box and is not a robot (Joshua) a bum (Malik) or over 40 years old (Ortiz) gives Wilder huge problems...that's why he avoids them.
Doesn't matter what style you bring to the fight IF your fat, bloated carcass of a body gives out in round 3 and you are running on empty for 9 rounds.
Tyson fury from the recent training video will beat deontey wilder. Tyson fury is not Luis Ortiz who lost his oxygen against wilder. Fury has the engine n if that engine is the one he used against wladimir, wilder will be flattened...mark my words...
Trust me am a big Fury fan, am talking about this from a standpoint of competitiveness, on his day Fury beats both Joshua and Wilder wihtout so much of a mark on his face.
Having said that there is NO way he is in the physical shape to take on either Joshua or Wilder, he isn't even in the right shape to take on Bellew, thats why Bellew scouted him just like he did David Haye.
I would be ultra shock if Team Fury takes this fight this year, I understand that this is more of a shot at Team Joshua than anything else, but if he does take that fight this year then firstly apologies for my skeptical nature and more power to him.

If he wins I will call him a magician. But he won’t so it will be the fat gypsie that formerly was the king of the division. However, stripped of his lineal duties

“If he was a clean eater and wasn’t doing the other things”
He was, I think he’s rushed this if it gets made but I’d still like to see it now before seeing Wilder v someone like Breazy.
This is possibly the worst style match up for Deontay Wilder because he will be facing an opponent with more physical advantages than himself and is also very mobile too. At least with Joshua you know where he will be at all times and that is the center of the ring at mid range.
With Fury you have a fighter who is more versatile. He could fight from short range while leaning all his weight on you off the front foot or by long range by moving around the ring from a distance off the back foot, making it very difficult to land flush punches on him in the process.

Wlad came at AJ because AJ is muscle bound and easy to find. Fury frustrated and worried Wlad with a very active defense. AJ has cement shoes, he has the grace of a hippo.

I think Wlad was more aggressive with Joshua because he could be. Joshua does not have the upper-body movement that Fury does, and Joshua is a lot more slow-footed and stationary. Fury's size and style completely befuddled Wladimir, but Klitschko could take advantage of the openings & opportunities that Joshua presented. Unfortunately for Wladimir, Joshua was young enough to muster a second-wind late in the fight.
I take nothing away from Klitschko, but he has never been known as a resilient warrior with the heart of a lion, so it's very telling that he was able to appear that way at 41 against Joshua. It was a good war to behold, but people may have came away with an unrealistic impression of Joshua. People who are overly impressed by Joshua's effort against Klitschko must think Corrie Sanders was the second coming of Jack Dempsey.
