TYSON FURY last night told David Haye to bring it on – as a blockbuster Battle of Britain clash moved a step nearer.
I can reveal that both camps are locked in talks over a mouth-watering bout in September with Fury declaring: “It’s the fight I have always wanted.”
Fury paved the way for a contest with Haye by withdrawing from his summer fight against Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev which could have earned him a mandatory shot at IBF champ Wladimir Klitschko.
Haye’s intended fight with German Manuel Charr, scheduled for Manchester on June 29, had earlier been postponed because of the Londoner’s hand injury. Click Here To Read More]
if this happens stick Groves vs De Gale on the undercard :)
People give Fury some stick for his boxing, but he's by no means a bad boxer. The problem here is that Haye is a pretty good boxer, plus he's quick and he hits real hard. Fury could, potentially, sit behind his jab all night and try and pick Haye off. He can bang a bit too and whilst Haye's chin is not bad, it's not great. That said, Haye will hit Fury with something pretty big at some point, it's how Fury reacts to that, if he stays on his feet, that has a major bearing on this fight. If he steams in, throwing bombs, he get's KO'd in what would probably be a brutal fashion, but if he keeps his composure, who knows what could happen. This could be an awful lot closer than people think, but I do Haye should win.
Fury is exceptional at closing the gap, so I don't think range will be an issue. The question is whether Haye can catch him big on the way in, and if Fury gets inside whether he will be allowed to stay there.
This isn't an immobile Valuev or a Wlad who sits behind the jab. Fury will go after Haye, he might get KO'd but he will go after him.
Wlad is far faster than Fury and actually tried to throw a few right hands early until he saw what would come back. Fury is a sucker for Hayes best punch, go watch the Cunningham fight again and see how many times Fury got hit clean coming in, Haye is as fast and hits a lot harder.
You can say whatever you want when your promoter is willing to take all the blame for turning the fight down. Him saying he doesn't want the fight doesn't look as good as saying he wants it but his promoter said no.
Better not stick your big chin out Fury, as when haye hits people, they usually stay hit.
Its very hard to last the distance against haye if you cant get out of the way of his punches.
But this is a match up id like to see. Nice of Fury to say Haye is the no1 brit heavyweight.....although im not sure if he means haye is no1 behind him?
Ooohh, Exciting! . . . . . build up that is.
The fight could be horrendous.
Fury leans. Haye goes down on his knee. Both look to the ref.
Over and over and over and over.
@The Weebler
Sound analysis based on the Cunningham fight...Fury is very decent at closing the gap, using his height and weight to choke, corner and tire opponents and then basically bash them-up.
Fine against Cunningham (based on the fact that it got the win) and some basic, slow sluggers but a dull move against Haye who has the mobility to step to one side as Tyson bulls forward and could land a proper bomb as the big man over-extends himself.
Haye is bigger than Cunningham and carries a proper, game-ending pop.
Once again, Peter Fury is crucial to the whole Tyson bandwagon. If he can keep Tyson calm and following a gameplan, get him to box for his openings and get his lad to apply his strength and size intelligently then Fury wins.
But if he gets macho, loses the plot again and tries to steamroller Haye...then David will exploit the opening and drop Tyson with ease.
Haye will be out of furys range most of the night and just step in throwing few combos every now and then picking him off at will. Wear him down then punch him out in the 8th, jobs a gud un.

Fury was almost KO'd by Steve Cunningham and Neven Pajkic.
Haye will decapitate him. KO 3.
Oh don't talk rubbish. Fury wasn't even close to be KO'd against either. Sure he got caught clean and upright and square and put on the seat of his pants, but vs Cunningham his legs were solid when he stood up, he wasn't hurt badly at all. Pretty much the same with Pajkic.
Now, Haye is another level of speed and power and could well end it with a bang, but Fury won't go in marauding and careless like he did vs lesser fighters. He'll go in with a similar mindset to the fight with Kevin Johnson where he stayed disciplined and behind his ridiculously-long jab.
Haye could end it in 1 punch; or he could ask Booth to stamp on his little toe again once the final bell rings because he needs another excuse. Never bet against Haye, but he's not exactly built for tall rangey opponents who have a very powerful jab, and Fury fits that bill.
I really hope this happens. This fight will be even bigger than Haye V Chisora, and they could probably even do it at either of the Manchester football stadiums.
The pre fight banter will be hilarious, and the fight will be explosive. Fury is no where near as fast or athletic as Wlad and when Haye gets inside his jab and lands the right hand, I can't see Fury taking it. Having said that, no way will Fury fight as recklessly as he did against Cunningham, he will be MUCH more disciplined and will fight more like he did against Johnson.
Hoping for Haye KO and then taking on Vitali.
I don't think the wrestling, holding, mauling tatics Fury used in his fight with Cunningham to wear him down will work with Haye. Haye is very strong and can push Futy off. Fury is sloppy, slow and easy to hit. I think Haye will win by KO.

have you seen fury fight?
this is the guy who has been dropped hard by bums and CWs and i dont mean bums like most of you do ie anyone with a strap or of a standard i mean bums.
he looked so poor against Cunningham that words fail me.
you sir are a fool.
This fight is all on the referee. Fury needs Smoger to let the fighters fight, Haye needs Pabon to jump between the fighters. The sneaky elf Booth will get his way just as he did v Chisora.
Either way, credit to Fury for taking on a top 5 heavyweight.
wow really?
its a duck and a cant win fight for the money his team are a joke.
they dont like bids and if Haye didnt bring the big bucks they wouldnt go anywhere near him.
they know Haye offers more cash that a Kbro so his team are cashing out on a 24 year old.
he cant rebuild after this, he's just not good enough to fight his way back up.
as bad as heavyweight is he's the 6th or 7th best PROSPECT now.
and a mouth wont sell when the skill (lack of) has been exposed.
I really hope the fight happens.
I'm afraid Haye would fight him very cautiously though, as he seems to do that with tall fighters. It would be epic to see him go after Fury the way he did Chisora and hopefully he does, but I'm afraid it won't be a great fight. Hopefully he hurts him sometime and finish him of atleast.
