I think it was clear Bradley did his homework and trained hard for the fight, and put his heart and mind to give most of us a great performance. The fight was mostly tactical that's why we did not see a KD/KO, both fighters must have reviewed tapes a lot and avoided previous mistakes, for example, Manny was not moving his head to the right/left after he throws a punch to avoid a counter since Bradley was swinging wide to catch Manny's head, and Manny anticipated what Bradley would do. It was not a one sided fight or a blow out.
Most people think Manny has slowed down, but I don't think so, Manny performed that way because of Bradley's preparations. I think Bradley will be in the HOF too in the future and in some ways he fought like the old Marvin Hagler.
I have greater respect for Bradley now. He deserves all the money he made for this fight and deserves a higher purse for his future fights. Warrior boxing styles than overly defensive styles are attractive and most people like humility in victory and defeat. Thanks Timmy for a good show.
Two of the most boring overly defensive performers (not fighters) and too far off in weight. Looks like you are posting this without thinking or simply paid to post, just to promote Floyd's relevance, go to sleep and get a real job.
Let's see after this Sunday, this thread will become longer especially if this coward loses. Gambling is a much faster way to lose your money, and "easy come easy go" is also true with money.
Karma will eventually catch up with this coward. In the end he will be broke, then finally he will offer to fight someone that we wanted for a long time, for peanuts, in a fight that no one will really care.
How is it not boring if you see Rigo not attacking but always waiting for a chance to counter. He gets the points because he is a quick counter puncher and wins on points, but that's all he is.
His last 3 fights were decisions and he only has 13 pro fights, he needs to grow up and learn what fans look for in a fight. For sure he does not fight like Tyson or Ali, so he is boring. How old are you BTW, maybe you need to grow up too.
What credit? I don't think your topic even deserves a discussion. I did not even vote.
Who cares if they fight? Nobody cares about what Floyd does. Let Floyd continue with his own sport and we will watch real fearless boxers instead of him.
Boxing is a game where the one who gets momentum wins the fight. Maidana got the momentum going and Broner was not that good. I saw Broner get the momentum in his earlier fights, but he was fighting not so quality fighters before this one.
Based on what I've seen in Wlad's previous fights, I just think Wlad is sluggish even against smaller opponents. Now this guy Wilder is fast and has a heart to win, if he gets momentum early on in the fight, I think the ref can call a stoppage in favor of Wilder. Might be hard to bring down Wlad though, he is big and is like a huge rock.
Come on Showtime announce that Floyd-Khan fight now and we'll see how much this boycott affects your PPV sales, and how low the sales will be after the fight. Then we'll settle this argument on who is right or wrong.
A lot of people believe Floyd is a cherry picking coward and only fools pay to watch his fights. He will fight Pac eventually, when both of them will already be irrelevant and people who are willing to pay to watch the megafight now would not care anymore.
Life sucks sometimes you want something to happen and it never happens, then you leave it alone and it happens, but you don't care anymore.
The problem with the outcome of this fight is because there is no basis for how a fight should be judged. Jim Lampley pointed this out that the judge favored the quality of the shots than the quantity of the shots. Chavez rocked Vera at least a couple of times, but not strong enough to put Vera on the canvass. Moderators point me out if there is such a basis for how a fight should be judged.
I truly believe the judges decisions were wrong because in the end it was Chavez Jr's face that was blown out, not Vera's. I was a fan of Chavez before, but not now, because his fighting style now has become boring, keeps running instead of dominating his opponents, but even then he was still heavily hit. His poor performance against Martinez took the toll on the promoters not being able to sell the fight seats, now this poor performance again.
I don't think Danny Garcia can beat Broner because I think although Danny has power, he does not have the speed to catch up with the defensive style of Broner. Another Garcia I believe can beat Broner, that is Mikey Garcia, but Mikey needs to move up the scale like Broner just did. I like Mikey's precision, speed and power, and he is undefeated too. Let's make it Broner-Mikey.
This thread is a joke or something that TMT puts up to gauge interest in Floyd's future fights.
Wake up people and stop being fooled into paying to watch Floyd's boring fights. I never paid to watch any Floyd PPV ever and just watch his free week-after replays. To me he is only worth watching for free, and I feel better that I made the right decision not to pay for it.
There are tons of other boxers out there who are way better and more entertaining than Floyd. Floyd is only as great because of the number of people he is able to fool to watch him fight a running game.
Why don't you TMT people put up a poll on your website on who the public want to see, rather than picking a cherry over and over again? Maybe I'd get interested and change my mind, and you can make more money?
The only fighter who can beat Floyd is a lefty with very quick hands, feet and head. That is why Floyd has too many excuses for not fighting the Pacman. If you are right handed like Canelo, Floyd's body would be at a 45 degree angle and he has his left shoulder and arm raised up and his head is even further, if you want to hit him be prepared because Floyd's right hand is ready and is at an angle to hit you because his right foot is stepped back for a right hand shot at 180 degrees against his foot. This is evident in round 8 against Canelo when Canelo hit Floyd's left arm, he got a counter shot to his head. If he did this against a lefty, most of his front body would be exposed and he would not have a power shot to his front because both his legs are at a 90 degree angle against his right or left hand. A lefty can hit him hard on his front body and head and swing quickly to the left or right like we have seen the Pacman to avoid a counter shot.
A lefty can also give trouble to Floyd by stepping on his front foot to prevent him from running. Boxing analysts always see this as a normal legal thing when right and left handed fighters meet.
Some of Floyd's punches toward Canelo are done where Floyd's hand and foot are further apart, and Floyd does this because he always fights at a distance. Floyd knows that a fighter with very fast footwork can make up for the distance. He has seen the Pacman do this in many of his recent fights, and is a concern for him.
You can see that Guerrero had more success hitting Floyd than Canelo, because his is a lefty, but Guerrero is slow. Floyd fought him because he wanted to try a lefty, but wanted to play safe and picked a cherry, and do some practice to decide if fighting the Pacman for him is possible.
Nevermind about Marquez hitting the Pacman with a methodical trap and suspicions of undetectable PEDs in Marquez. Bradley's win against the Pacman is not even worth debating. Assuming the Pacman goes back to his old ways of winning and staying away from his time grabbing pastors, and convincingly defeat Rios, he is the only one and the one who has a style that can beat Floyd. Unless Floyd comes up with many more excuses.
Another Floydiot OP possibly paid to start this thread. Who cares about Floyd, more people are starting to not care about watching his performances, his recent PPVs did not sell very well and more people are starting to realize Floyd was not entertaining after all. CBS/Showtime will still bleed money for him, why should Floyd even care, he still gets the shareholder's monies. We'll watch someone else more entertaining.
I hope Ward reads this thread and see for himself that most people here don't like him. He has not been fighting lately, none this year, once in 2013, once in 2012, twice in 2011, most of the time we see him in the sidelines during boxing matches.
His unbeaten record is nothing once he fights the likes of GGG, and surely GGG will shred him to pieces.
Ward needs to learn that you draw fans, to watch your fight, not by opening his mouth, but rather by fighting the best and fighting more frequently. Anybody out there willing to give Andre some love?
You guys can argue all day if this is true or not. Bottom line is Showtime is bleeding money for sure because they are fooled into paying too much for someone who cannot deliver a good return on investment. It's the shareholders money anyway not ours, so why should we care? Floyd's time has passed and he earned his money, he will be fine for as long as he lives. Let's move on and see someone else's more entertaining fights, and remember Floyd for what he did, and what he did not do.
Those who think that Lara won should belong another sport where boxers ride bicycles in the ring, and call it bicycle boxing, or disgusting boxing. Put Rigo and Floyd in the same sport. Canelo should not fight Lara anymore, Canelo does real boxing and Lara belongs to another sport.
I think what is more important is that we learn from what Ali has done in his life. To me Ali looked less likeable because of all he did which were contrary to the golden rule, but let's just say he did all of that in poor judgment.
At those times his mind probably had not matured enough to know that he has hurt people by his actions. But later in his life he changed, and even asked forgiveness from the great Joe Frazier for treating him poorly instead of returning the favor that Joe did to get him out of jail.
Bad decisions by Ali is not something to emulate by younger generations, it is definitely wrong to be not nice to people. But we become who we are by stroke of luck on the quality of guidance that we have from our older folks, and we can't really blame Ali entirely. And nature always has its ways of making us pay for our actions, whether we do good or bad.
As a boxer Ali was one of the best in terms of skill level and fearlessness, and brought much entertainment and happiness to many people including myself and my old folks.
Guys get real and move on. Mayweather is done and over with, and retired. He is fighting just for fun and some more money. What's the point of risking your life when you are already rich?
Maidana, easy for him, no question, even if Floyd loses, no big deal. He doesn't really care what people say of him, coward, cherry picker, etc, hey people even call him a fraud, but the point is, he already made his money. And money is what matters, he can live very comfortably for the rest of his life.
We enjoyed watching Tyson when he was at his prime, but like everything else, everything must come to an end. You may have enjoyed Floyd at his prime, but frankly I didn't, you have your opinions and I can respect that. It doesn't even bother me who he fights now, even GGG, I could not care less, it is Showtime's problem to come up with the money to pay him.
Pac is not that good anymore, but Brook is a better choice since Khan has been beat up many times. Jimmy Kimmel was right, the great boxer Pac was before he changed his religion. He can't even win against Brook.
If this is official news, it's amazing how the best coward in boxing history can bring a huge company like CBS down to its knees or make it bleed money. $16M for a billion dollar company will still cause heads to roll at CBS, but it's shareholders money anyway, not ours, and believe me no one at CBS wants to be fired. But who gets the better end of the stick other than the coward himself. And who is at the losing end of the stick - it is the boxing viewers getting a crappy running fight, the investors and promoters who put up the money, and the helpless worthless boxing organizations who cannot do anything about it. This is one of the biggest anomalies in the history of boxing.
Gabriel Rosado (21-8-0/13KO) is facing a tough opponent Lemieux at 32-2-0/30KO/7-win streak.
But I always like Rosado's fearless fighting style, and never says no to the toughest guys like Golovkin who needed 7 rounds to beat him.
We need guys like him who don't cherry pick and always tries to put up a good fight. I like Rosado to win this time. He does earn a lot of respect.
You mean Cotto will pull off another retirement or belt walk off, like Floyd did a few years ago because Floyd did not to lose to a fast rising previously unbeaten star in Cotto? Yes GGG has an impressive KO record currently, but he is careless and could possibly lose his "0" in the same way like little guy Vic Darchinyan. Do you remember how Geale was able to hit GGG in the face?
Of course GGG wants to to gain popularity by fighting the big names, but big names have big challenges. GGG needs to "be careful what you wish for". Miguel is no push over.
GGG will shred BHop into pieces. Not even close. And no one currently comes close to GGG's incredible KO percentage record. GGG can even climb up to meet lazy boy Andre Ward and shred him to pieces too.
Regardless of if Bob Arum is lying or not, the truth is that he is talking but Floyd just keeps quiet and does nothing to say that Bob is lying. I'm sure he and his TMT staff read this forum but no one talks. It is becoming clearer as time goes by that the argument of why did not happen is because Floyd is afraid and he does not deserve to be in the boxing hall of fame. Floyd decided to talk a few weeks back that he wants this fight, but his current actions say otherwise.
How hard could it be for Floyd to pull out his phone from his pocket and post a message for all of us to shut up because he is signing the contract?
Cut the racism BS fellow humans. Why the hate campaign against Wilder? He seems to be a good person in post fight interviews, and I don't hear a lot of trash from him, or him bragging about his wealth. His fights are great and entertaining, 32 KOs in 32 wins no loss at age 29. I think he will beat Stiverne this weekend, Stiverne has a lesser record than him, 24 wins 1 loss/KO 1 draw at age 36.
I even think he has a solid chance of beating Klitschko becuase he is also tall at 6'6''. Only downside for me is that Wilder is taking too long to end the reign of Vladimir, I waited for a while now.
