Not sure if this is true but supposedly there's a rumor about Showtime and Floyd that if Floyd does not produce good numbers this September, then Showtime will either:
1. force him to fight manny or
2. revise his contract
lol imagine,
Showtime: "fight manny or you don't get paid"
Floyd: "peace, I threw my belt away already when he was my mandatory, why I need money fo"
source: FRANKGWJ
You guys can argue all day if this is true or not. Bottom line is Showtime is bleeding money for sure because they are fooled into paying too much for someone who cannot deliver a good return on investment. It's the shareholders money anyway not ours, so why should we care? Floyd's time has passed and he earned his money, he will be fine for as long as he lives. Let's move on and see someone else's more entertaining fights, and remember Floyd for what he did, and what he did not do.
:lol1::lol1::lol1::lol1:
absolutely agree.
Floyd's whole persona is to be this uber millionaire money may persona. Im quite certain his alleged showtime payday is another typical floyd lie much like his 20 million for one nights work vs the big show.
Do you think Forbes lied about him being the highest paid as well???
Common sense lacks when Floyd is involved; Showtime isn't losing any money because if they were the deal would be canceled by now since after the Ghost fight it was a fight by fight basis. Nobody from Showtime has been on the record saying how much each needed to break even only from other sources. Take the Maidana fight people said it needed to 1.5 mil to break even; be fuc*king serious for a second 6 fights in history has done that number you really expect that to be the number for a fight that had no press tour or shorted the All-Access by one episode with barely any promotion. Espoinza swears the Guerrero did over a million hey if you don't want to believe the guy in charge of Showtime sports thats on you. i would love to see the Manny fight but's not going to happen if you want to say Floyd is scared fine maybe he is but either way the fight isn't going happen no need in crying about something that isn't going to happen.
He had 2 fights that did less than 900k buys and one that did 1.8 million. Thats 33% of doing over 1 million buys
Did you figure that out all by yourself?
False. Manny is locked in with HBO til 2016. There is no way Showtime could even force that fight in other words.
Lewis
Tyson
It could happen considering the magnitude. I don't care about that fight anymore though.
Considering how pathetic Showtime was before Mayweather and GBP jumped to them and how well they are doing now. I doubt this is true, but yes I am sure they want to see him fight at least an Opponent that will get the Casual Fans Interested
Of course they should fight we know this but both sides I think are complete full of sh1t and they ALL: Networks, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Arum, GBP they just take advantage of the fans. The fact that they do good numbers and make big money without fighting each other is why it is not more urgency to fight each other
I SERIOUSLY doubt showtime was expecting 1 million + PPVs on each fight.
You all guys need to stop acting as if you know exactly what the deal is like.
Come on man, this fight is like 5 years past due Floyd fans, Manny fans , boxing fans want to see this fight at least to put this bs to the side and shut one side up finally.
Yes it's past due, but Maks point is valid. I've yet to see a Floyd fan say "f*ck it, make the Manny fight happen!"
It's usually "Manny has to leave Arum" etc. Manny said he is willing to do whatever to make the fight happen, even went on espn and said his line is open 24/7
With Floyd it's a block after a block. I'm done on this topic though, let's just enjoy tonight's fights.
I don't see any credible source that TS posted, this is mere speculation on the original matter, but I do feel Mak has a valid point.
The general consensus on NSB is when you mention to a Floyd fan the Pacquiao fight, it seems they aren't willing to see it.

They did the same with tyson. In each case Hbo thought tyson and floyds Days of making money were over. They were wrong both times. They didn't want to pay mike and floyd what they wanted. I think Hbo and showtime are both satisfied with their decisions.
Wrong both times? It's a known fact that showtime lost millions and millions on the tyson deal.

Except Floyd has drawn under 1 million twice, with the only fight that made money was with Canelo. They need at least 1 million to pay Floyd his guarantee, he is insanely overpaid which is great for him but not for the people paying his checks. I love how apparently Floyd is the only guy looking to make as much money as possible and HBO, Top Rank and Golden Boy are all non-profit.

Fair enough.
I'm not on here enough anymore, to really pay attention.
But that's really not what's happening here. Sure, there's a few guys that do that, but for the most part, people just want a respectable source. Pacquiao fans are the EXACT same way. Floyd fans aren't allowed to cite FightHype as a source, but Pacquiao fans can cite a random internet forum poster?

No no no Dunn.
Mak is spot on, mention Floyd fighting Manny and you FloydTroopers get your balls in a twist.
Problem with that is anyone who's a Floyd fan you label them. Regardless if they're a fan of the sport first, you haters typically lump everyone together.
Why even give Floyd another chance? He had 2 fights that did less than 900k buys and one that did 1.8 million. Thats 33% of doing over 1 million buys
Pacquiao is 100% doing over 1 million buys on SHO
Ummmmm that's an average of 1.2 million buys in 3 fights. Sounds like good numbers to me.
