Meldrick Taylor, Howard Davis, Camacho.
Sadly nobody mentioned Zab Judah, fastest hands of his era imo.
I'm with you, I believe Zab Judah has the fastest hands in his era
A lot of people have been claiming that, but I dissagree. It was more a result of the body work and all the pin point fluish shots accumilating and takign their toll. Even before the cut you could see from about the 6th round on that the tide was turning and Marquez was landing almost at will where as Dias was missing so many of his shots. The cut may have accelerated his demise, but Marquez would have knocked Diaz out regardless, there was just a disparity in class between the two fighters.
I'm with you Marquez was beating that body down. Diaz did slow down before the cut. I'm just not sure of the delayed knock down.
Don't they realise Hatton is not a Welterweight and will just get owned by all of them. This means they will be getting no credit for the win and render fighting Hatton completely pointless. I've heard talks of Cotto and Mosley both contemplating a Hatton fight in the future. Hatton is useless at Welterweight, and in my opinion, the only reason why he hasn't been beaten at 140 is because 140 has no talent, apart from maybe Timothy Bradley who is too green for Hatton. The only reason they want the fight is for the money, which is stupid because there are good competative fights at Welterweight to be made which would boost their legacys a lot more, get them sufficient money and give the fans what they want. Mosley, Cotto, Clottey and maybe Berto can all fight each other, there could be some FOTY candidates in there.
your point is well taken, but remember that they all are fighting for that big pay day and if Hatton brings it then so be it. Hatton also has to agree to make the fight happen.
At the time, most people thought Hatton won a close fight, although he didn't look good in the last couple of rounds.
Max Kellerman lied when he said "most people thought Collazo won" - truth is, most people scored it for Hatton, and he knows that.
look at the face's of his parents and corner man before the decision and tell me that they thought that Ricky won the fight. No one thought that Ricky won the fight.
1st off let me say that I did not score it so I cant fully say what was what. However, I will also say that I feel that the mass media & fans are biased against pure boxers. Its like if you dont try to brawl or knock guys out then you suck, so therefore I always try to take up for them. Even with that and with Martinez being the pure boxer in this matchup, I felt that it was a super close fight and I could easily see a draw. I didnt come on here after the fight last night but I cant beleive that so many people on here think that Martinez clearly won without any debate and some think he dominated.
To me, this fight was kind of like Taylor vs Spinks. People gave Spinks alot of credit for how he was moving and stuff but he still never really landed any punches and I felt the same way last night. I think fans listen to the HBO commentators and Lederman way too much on there picks. The HBO guys always see one thing from the jump and they will stay on it non stop and never switch no matter if the action turns or not. I felt Martinez was doing well early when Lederman was giving Cintron the rounds but then Lederman & the commentators talked non stop about how Martinez was outboxing Cintron from then on and I didnt see it.
I felt that Martinez was just moving and thats it. There were times where it would be the exact halfway point of a round and Max would start going on and on about how Martinez is totally controling the fight right now when Im dead serious in saying that I dont even think Martinez had landed one punch in the round at that point. I think he gave the illusion that he was winning or something because he was moving like he normaly does but he never landed a punch while Cintron was landing a few. I swear I think if people rewatch that fight and turn the sound down then they will see a different fight. Again, I cant be totally sure of the score because I didnt score it but it seemed like a draw from what I was watching and I definatly felt that Cintron won alot of those middle rounds that people act like Martinez dominated.
Dont get me wrong though, both guys sucked. It was a horrible style matchup, and Cintron looked like a non confident bum who had no pure boxing skills but Martinez looked like a bum ass Calzaghe and was equaly as bad and sloppy to me. Until the knock down he seemed pure scared of coming in at Cintron because he was afraid to get hit back. Thats why I dont see this dominant performance that others see. I felt as crappy as Cintron looked, he was actually outboxing Martinez in those middle rounds. Max use to be my boy but I disagree with him in nearly every fight now. It almost seems like every single time that they make it seem like one guy is owning it, the other guy is actually fighting better to me
you saw the wrong fight, not a fan of either man, but last night Martinez clearly won and dominated Cintron
if margo KOs baldomir then arum and mexicans can claim that margo has true power and didnt need loaded gloves since baldomir head is as thick or even thicker than margo's.
if margo can't KO baldomir, then arum and mexicans can claim that baldomir is simply unKOable.
its a win win situation...
plus baldomir is a winnable fight, since baldomir is as slow as margo.
lol, makes since, but remember Forrest but some leather on Baldo and he stood in there for all 12.
So he had 2.4m against Oscar but then only 850,000 paid to see his next bout?
And losing over 60% of your audience proves that it's you that's the draw? Okay. Point well proven.
Who said that everyone in England bought the PPV to watch Hatton. That would make it seem that there aren't any Mayweather fans overseas.
im talking about their careers. pac faced his rivals, floyd never!! tszyu, casa, mosely cotto. these are fighters that were in his weight classes.
130 & 135 loaded with fighters that wanted a piece of Pac. why did he go after David Diaz instead of Nate Campbell or Joan Guzman maybe even Zahir Raheem after all he did beat the crap out of Erik Morales.
Is it just me or for the past 6 months has bob arum and 2 of his top fighters been butting heads a little too much...imo both of these guys would be bettr elsewhere....arum was all ovr cotto till he lost to margo then he is seen evrywhere with margo...no real loyalty in business i know...but it should be some
both guys are in his stable, he goes hard for the person that can bring him the most money to the table. When Miguel was at top he promoted him and made moves to get him seen. When Margarito made it to the top he did the same for him. How is he being biased? If anything the only person that should be complaining is Joshua Clottey.
I have watched this fightet over and over, meldrick had 10 of the 12 rounds he got up at the 5 count in the 12th and the ref stopped it with 3 seconds on the clock......
tell that to the ref that let Cintron continue after Martinez knocked him out. there was a fight that should have been stopped.
what does calzaghe and mayweather have in common?
both undefeated, but both protected fighters that never fought the best!!
if that's the case add both Pacquiao and Hatton to that list. two protected fighters and do not fight the best. why did they not send Pac to Nate Campbell orJoan Guzman, I'm sure they both would have loved to beat that a.. what happened to Hatton at WW after Collazo he didn't want anymore of the WW, but he went up to fight a lightweight in Mayweather. but yet you pick on Floyd
Not including the 80's skews it a bit for guys like Chavez but mine goes:
1. Pernell Whitaker
2. Roy Jones Jr.
3. Evander Holyfield
4. Bernard Hopkins
5. Lennox Lewis
6. Manny Pacquiao
7. Marco Antonio Barrera
8. Erik Morales
9. James Toney
10.Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Honorable mention: Ricardo Lopez, Julio Cesar Chavez
I think you rate Hopkins to high, his best wins came against little men moving up in weight to fight him (Oscar & Trinidad). You can't rate him in the top ten, he was fight welterweights and claimed to be the best middle weight. Other then Tarver name another big man he beat.
What's even funnier is the fact that Mayweather is just Marquez' second choice. :lol1:
or could it be the fact that PAC is running scared of him like he said
He was clearly winning the fight then just completely stopped fighting. I don't get it. Now Marquez is landing tons of punches and has him cut. Why would a volume puncher with a pressure style just stop fighting all of a sudden?
He quit, are you crazy do you see that body attack? JMM is killing that body and JD has run into several clean shots to the head as well
How can you rate a guy that fights smaller guys an all time great, what is Hopkins best win? Everyone talks about what ATG Floyd has beaten. How many ATG have Hopkins beaten? Fighting WW when your a MW doesnt make you great in my book.

Please someone answer my question and get the knowledge.

I swear these floyd threads are getting old. Floyd will not get my respect till he fights and beats Cotto and Mosely. I mean the guy barely put a dent on a washed up De La Hoya.
barely huh, like Pac barely beat JMM but barely is such a WIN.
Seriously, I picked Diaz to win but it doesn't bother me that he lost it was an incredible fight but I had a sour feeling throughout the entire card. John was robbed, not only that he was robbed in his first fight in the USA, with the lowest purse in his championship career and was booed throughout.
Atleast everyone got to see that John is the real deal, I hope more of you pay attention to him in future.
Were you impressed by John or somewhat disappointed? What do you think?
I was not impressed with John, I mean he fought Rocky everyone knows that Rocky has no skill he was tailor made for John and John could not finish him off. Yes, I do agree that he was robbed, but with a more polished fighter he definitely would have lost.
Juan Diaz was highly regarded as the #1 challenger in his division.
Juan Diaz is also a natural Lightweight.
Juan Diaz is bigger and stronger than Juan Manuel Marquez.
Juan Diaz is 10 years younger than Juan Manuel Marquez.
Juan Diaz is in the prime of his career.
So when's the last time Pacquiao knocked out somebody like that?
I'm with you Pac ain't crazy.
