Building on a previous thread, Pacquiao and Hopkins were decided to have the best resumes since 2000. Will having a superior resume cause these two fighters to be regarded by history in a more favorable light than Floyd Mayweather Jr.? One would think resume should be the deciding factor for a boxer's place in history, since it represents what you have accomplished and not simply what you could have accomplished. I don't think it makes sense to credit a fighter with a higher place in history simply due to their skill/talent/persona. So, all factors considered and especially resume: Who is higher on ATG list: Mayweather, Hopkins or Pacquiao? Poll to follow please discuss! The following are a few Big wins from each fighter for quick reference:
Bernard Hopkins
Winky Wright
Antonio Tarver
Felix Trinidad
Kelly Pavlik
Oscar De La Hoya
Manny Pacquiao
Eric Morales 2-1
Juan Manuel Marquez 1-0-1
Marco Antonio Barrera 2-0
Oscar De La Hoya
Lehlohonolo ledwaba
Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Ricky Hatton
Oscar De La Hoya Jr.
Zab Judah
Jose Luis Castillo 2-0
Diego Corrales
Oh sorry man, I wasn't talking about this one. You make some of the best threads on here. Props.
Thanks, besides, it won't be long before Tyson Fury unifies and defends for the next decade. Completely rendering this thread useless.
Just incase you were referring to this thread(and I give the benefit of the doubt in assuming you were not), this is a completely objective and legitimate thread that has provoked very fair debate and minimal flaming.

Hey crust is on. What's up man. It's been a bad day on NSB. Lots of miserable threads. Welcome to the party.

Hello Dans.I noticed that there is a distinct lack of mayweather threads today.whats up with that?
I guess no one wants to talk about him even though he's coming back, strange I know.
Solid yes,but thats about it.The Glenn johnson win was good, but it was way before 2000,and pavlik was fighting at a weight alien to him, also he hardly had a welter of experience behind him.

B-Hop and Floyd are kind of close currently, but as a whole I like Floyd's career more to this point. Manny is great also but he gets a lot of credit for beating just names with no regard to the situations surrounding those names.
With the exception of tarver, who is grossly overrated. All the other guys on bhops are smaller guys.
Tarver is a solid fighter, and Hop also beat Glen Johnson and Kelly Pavlik both of whom spent the majority of their careers no lower than MW.
How can you rate a guy that fights smaller guys an all time great, what is Hopkins best win? Everyone talks about what ATG Floyd has beaten. How many ATG have Hopkins beaten? Fighting WW when your a MW doesnt make you great in my book.
Please someone answer my question and get the knowledge.

Well Manny hasn't beat anyone who's ranked very high on the all time list...Barrera and Morales are on there but not top 50.
What of PBF's wins beat those two exactly?

I selected Hopkins as of now. However, Pac is still in his prime and is fighting hatton for another lineal title. We could possibly see Bhop fight for his third lineal title against Adamek. This is very close in my book. Pbf comes in a clear third imo.
Yup, this is how I feel. I think Pacquiao will ultimately pass him but for now I give the edge to Hopkins. As I've said before I think Adamek takes that fight against Hopkins so IMO it's up to Pacquiao to beat Hatton and another big name and he'll be #1 of these 3.
Haha I don't think separating Hopkins & Pacquiao is going to boost the number of votes for Floyd by much lol.
Hopkins still gets my vote, with Pacman second.
Yup no kidding, but NSB loves playing the victim so I adjusted it.
