Juan Diaz was highly regarded as the #1 challenger in his division.
Juan Diaz is also a natural Lightweight.
Juan Diaz is bigger and stronger than Juan Manuel Marquez.
Juan Diaz is 10 years younger than Juan Manuel Marquez.
Juan Diaz is in the prime of his career.
So when's the last time Pacquiao knocked out somebody like that?
Hops should fight Adamek. I am almost certain he could outbox him and get a wide decision. Do it, Bernard!

In all reality, Hopkins could probably continue to fight until he's 50. But there's really not much out there for him that would motivate him to do so. I'm not sure he's serious about this Adamek thing, though I know being a 3 weight division Champion would be enough motivation to get him to do it.
But after that, there's really not much else, unless he wants to lose that weight and fight Dawson (who he would easily beat IMO), or gain even more weight and try his luck at Heavyweight.
i think the 3 division champ would motivate him. That would look great on his Resume and get him a a couple notches up on some peoples ATG list.
But like he said, the only fight that would motivate him is calzaghe 2. and Calzaghe doesn't want to because he saw the pavlik fight.:boxing:

Forgot to add this :
Hopkins is the kind of fighter who needs that extra motivation to really "get up" for a fight. And there's really not much more motivation for him to be had out there right now.
i know, to me it seem like it's been short because Hopkins hasn't faded like other fighters... it's like he can fight till he is 50.

I wouldn't doubt that either. 'Nard's a freak.

Which is why I left the first Barrera fight, and both Marquez fights out of my original post.
You said "when they were Champion", so I felt I had to point out the fights in which Pac's opponet's were not Champions. Hence, the ones I listed.
I mean to say MOST were champions. But all of them were Champions.
Explain. You can't just say shit and not give an argument.
I guarantee I will listen and counterpoint you without acting like a typical NSB user. I can debate peacefully. I think this thread shows that.
I'm still waiting on your response to this, strugler.
You said I have a double standard, I'm waiting to hear you make your case.
We may not agree on everything, but we definitely agree there. I've been an avid supporter of Bernard's for over 13 years. And the scary part is, it only seems like it's been about 5. :lol1:

Money. If Oscar wants a rematch with Pac and they offered him more, Pac will take it, whether Pac wins or lose.
Gonna take a break, see you guys in about 30 min.
Yeah I guess money was the only reason.
Enjoy your break. Watch out for hair growing on your palms! ;)

Barrera was CHAMPION in the 1st fight.
De La Hoya wasn't Champion, but he was way bigger.
Morales barely lost his titles to Barrera i think. But was still a force.
Marquez was champion, then Manny beat him.
so Barrea and Marquez where Champions when Manny beat them.

Not to mention Barrera wasn't coming off of any kind of win that would grant such a rematch. In his last fight before the Pac rematch, he damn near got shutout by Marquez.
Exactly man. It wasn't necessary at all.
I could have just said "unnecessary" and saved some energy there...

Two rematches and a huge money fight...
I can't understand why Pac had to fight Barrera again. I can understand the first rematch of Erik because it was close, and also the Oscar fight for a big fat check. The only "?" on there is the 2nd Barrera fight cause he was destroyed badly in the first.

Correct me if I'm wrong. (It's been a while......) But.....
Barrera wasn't a Champion in the Pacquiao rematch.
Morales wasn't a Champion in either the second or third Pacquiao matches.
And De La Hoya hadn't been a Champion at 147lbs for a number of years.

If you would've read the last paragraph of my post, you would've saw I said the exact same thing.
Hey man,, don't you just love this drama building up.. I hope Pac and JMM meet again... Pac has something to prove againts hatton now and try to one up JMM's performance againts Juan Diaz... By any stretch Marquez and Pac have proven beyond a doubt that they are in the same league and that they stand above the rest as the best fighters in boxing today. Marquez beating Juan Diaz the way he did dropped my jaw and I have soooo much more respect for JMM.

Ouch, my bad. I was fast on the gun. I apologized.:guilty:
at least we can agree on B-Hop. LOL
