What I just watched wasn't a fight - it was a marathon with Dirrell almost breaking the world record.

LMFAO. All the score cards I have seen are very close either way.
All I saw for the majority of the rounds was Dirrell firing superficial shots towards Froch and then holding. All the while, Froch was battering him on the inside.
And the complaints about the point deduction? LMFAO. Dirrell went down about 5 times within 3 rounds of his own accord and expected not to start irritating everyone? What a joke.
Next time I hope he engages - and gets the brutal KO that is coming to him.
He landed a few of these punches on the inside true. Most of them came behind the head though. And other than that he landed maybe 15-20 punches.
He should have thrown his jab more he could have actually done something. But he didn't and he fought a poor fight. No way in hell would I score that fight for him.
It's just that the judges get influenced by the home crowd who will cheer for anything.
It's a sad sight. He should retire. I'm not watching his fight with Kessler. No point he will be brutally knocked out in that one. And it's just something I do not want to see.
It's really funny reading some of these comments. What did you guys expect? He stood in there in the first fight and took more punishment then he should have and it almost cost him the fight. So in the rematch he adjusts and hardly gets touched and wins all but 1 or 2 rounds.
My best advice to any guy that you don't like is to not watch.
Clottey is a solid welter. Not sure if he's great because he hasn't gotten any big shots yet. However, he's good defensively and a good body puncher as well.

I don't. Why exert all of your energy as Cotto did in retreat the entire night? It makes no sense when you can cover up properly and clinch on the inside when it gets a little rough. Sure it's harder than I say but Shane has the experience to do it I believe.
Shane is a worker. I think he may be able to go to the body. Because I don't think he'll back up as much as Cotto did. When you back up as Cotto did it's hard to set your feet and dig into the body. I think Shane will back up some but he'll probably stay in the middle and fight on the inside. I can see Shane ripping to the body but he'll have to take some to give some.
I think it'd be a good step up. Cintron hits hard but he doesn't seem to be a naturally tough guy. I don't think he'll be thrilled to grind it out for 12 rounds with Berto. And Berto goes to the body as well. I think the fight could go either way but I'd favor Berto who I believe has more heart.
Disregard 116-111 please. We know it's a terrible score. Two had it 114-113. Meaning that Berto won the 12th and probably the 1st which Led scored for Collazo. Really close rounds. Collazo taking off rounds didn't help his cause either.

Kudos to Mosley. Very Impressive. But shit that was heartbreaking for me to see. One of my favorite fighters who i thought was an invincible bad ass was just beaten up badly like nothing. I honestly didnt think there was anyone in boxing at the moment that would beat him much less beat him up.

It wasn't that bad. It was actually a good move. Still Marg had his chances but Shane is an elite fighter who can take what he can give. Marg was completely overmatched.
Guys, just because Shane was able to beat Marg doesn't mean he's gonna run through Cotto. After the Mayorga fight, Shane was supposedly past-it, and now, post-Marg, he's gonna KO the guy who beat him in a clear, if close, decision?
Of course, it does depend on how much the Marg fight has taken out of Cotto.
But I still see Cotto winning that one. He'll work behind a strong jab and he isn't as open as Marg, so Shane won't be able unload on him like he did last night. Not to mention that he looked as fast as Shane in their first fight. And he has the confidence to know he's already beaten him once, and took his best shots without getting rocked.
I never thought that at all. It's hard to look good agaisnt Mayorga. He's a wild fighter that forces you into akward exchanges at times. Those whoed that fight as a barometer for his future fights were reaching. Plus there was no doubt that Shane adjusted and kicked his ass late.
No he was exposed. People thought his chin was made of cement. When in actuality it was his gloves lmao.
Seriously though people wouldn't admit he lost to Williams. People thought he was indestructable. But there was a clear and underlying reason why he didn't rematch Williams.
I don't understand the logic. Marg has a really good chin. He took everything Cotto had. He took all of what Cintron had and he took all of what Williams had as well. The man can take a punch. To say that one fight took it out of him is discrediting his past opponents and tainting Shane's win. Give Shane credit please. He fought a totally different fight from Miguel. Give him credit.
Marg should win by pressing and staying active. Not sure if he can stop Mosley. Mosley won't be hit nearly as flush as with Cotto. I think Shane can make him miss a bit. But it won't be enough. Marg by decision.
This shit is getting really weak. Give Mosley the credit. With or without Shane was still physically just as strong as Marg and would not back down.
That's always been Shane he doesn't back up a lot. He even tied up Cotto on the inside of their fight at times. Shane did this I'm sure training helped but Shane went in the ring and did it.
