Kudos to Mosley. Very Impressive. But shit that was heartbreaking for me to see. One of my favorite fighters who i thought was an invincible bad ass was just beaten up badly like nothing. I honestly didnt think there was anyone in boxing at the moment that would beat him much less beat him up.
Something that sucks is that his invincibility in my eyes was just shattered. The most feared man on the planet is no more :puppy_dog
It was very depressing and its hard to describe in words how i felt watching that...
Anyways congrats to Mosley and the fans. I have nothing bad to say about his performance. I just didnt like the holding
cowards and half men always liked margarito.
you did well texan baller, in cheering for margarito.
oh and just to point out how extremely stupid you are - how are you invincible when you have 5 losses, you dipshit.
I actually woulda been more heartbroken seein SSM KTFO than seein it happen to Marg. I'm just disappointed in him for doin dirt wit the gloves. I thought he had more class than that.
I live in PR and since the fight with Margarito was signed i analyze the fight and get the conclussion that the best way the beat Marg was exacctly the way that Mosley do it. Cotto was the faster hands boxer so it has to begin his ofense first especially with a constant left jab, mixing it up with some combos with some mustard in it, when he finish his combo Marg would come back at Cotto, Cotto should respond with a short counter and tied him up. This has two factor ( eliminated the Marg high throwing work rate, and in this way you eliminated some % of being cought with margs hands, and most important you can save stamina for the second half of the fight and to maintain the constant movement by the footwork. Cotto doesnt tied him up NEVER, throw a lot of power punches( get out of gas more faster) put himself in the ropes. He bring to the fight the worst game plan EVER. And if you add the possiblity of Marg cheating also in the Cotto fight also, well cotto do it very well under all that negatives circumstances. Cotto should look to this perfomance of Mosley and get the right clue to get his revange from Marg.

I was ur age wen Holyfield beat Tyson, i was devasted.
But i learnt to appreciate an underdogs victory, and to NEVER believe a fighter is invincible or that a fighter has no chance of winning.
In boxing, anything can happen. U gotta love the sport more than any single fjghter.
alot of people didn't like margarito and alot had to do because of his fans, especially on boxingscene. But still man he was a likeable guy. I am a big fan of his, just everything about him made me want him to win more, you know. The fact of where he grew up in Tijuana, or that his brother was murdered, married his highschool sweetheart, and held off on having kids until he reached where he wanted to be in his boxing career. Those kind if things made him different. Also the fact that he has been fighting since he was 15 against guys twice his age, and it seemed like he had to work three to four times as hard to get to the pinicle of his career. Which was an appeal and inspiration that hard work does pay off, even though it may take you longer, you should keep on trying. Then comes his fighting style, not the prettiest or slickest, but it got the job done. And not to mention was always the underdog, so it was always good to root for the underdog.
Anyways but last night was just awful, to any Margarito fan, the fact that he got a beat down was heartbreaking to see. He knew he was out of it but yet he still came out for the ninth.
but the worst thing of all was the hand wrap incident. Man, like Texan said no words to describe it man....... except "damn man"
lets just see what happens, props to Mosley and also Cotto because i do believe that Cotto did take away alot from Tony.
everyone made such a big deal over margarito's win over cotto that everyone seems to forget that margarito seemed to lsoe atlest 7 rounds of that fight or everyone is on the he beat the shit out of cotto bandwagon thats why it was so hard for people to see this happen but if you watch the clottey, cotto, santos, diaz and williams fights there is no way that anyone could actually think margarito was unbeatable
i've got to say i was shattered as well, was really in quite disbelief. however margs will definately be back. i think he probably thought he was invicilbe, the commentators said it themselves, he probably thinks he has an invicible chin. Mosley was the same as bhop in that technique onl gets better and love the comparison to bhop and roy jones ibn that technique is what keeps these fighters getting better as they get older, not athletic ability.
Margs will ko cotto again and then probably rematch mosley. my prediction for 09
Not at the highest level.
He peaked in the Cotto fight. Its plain to see that those shots Cotto gave him took quite a bit out of him.
3 fights at the most and hes done.
Hes been fighting this way since he was 15.
Bound to catch up sooner or later.
the problem is this..... in boxing, you have to be able to box at least a little bit.... when you rely on athleticism, speed, power, chin, etc without focusing on strategy and technical skill, this is what happens.
it happend to zab judah, pavlik, cotto, and now margarito........ it would never happen to mayweather tho...
:boxing:
Cotto isn't one dimensional, he just had a stamina issue.
Also, if Mayweather fights enough tough challenges, it will happen to him, too.
For the record, nothing wrong with holding. It's a strategy. Not directing this at the guy quoted, just felt like saying it.

Funny how you'd say the most invincible guy when he had like 5 losses. Sure he had an iron chin, but he was far from unbeatable. He had just lost to Paul Williams not to long ago and only looked so unbeatable against Cotto yet still was outboxed for half of the fight. I said as soon as he beat Cotto that he probably wouldn't last long and have 15 minutes of fame from the Cotto bout. I'm glad to have been proven correct.
I've always liked Margarito and to seem him on his knees with his arm streched out was actually sad to me
Same here. I mean, most puertorricans over here (and the friends me and my bro invited) were ecstatic watching Margarito get dismantled...and to a VERY (and i emphasize very) slight degree I wanted Margarito to work hard for this fight. It made sense for him to win, he was younger, seemingly stronger, could take a hell of a punch and he would be around longer in the sport. At the same time, I didn't want Shane to get knocked out.
So, understandbly, in the midst of all this screaming and shouting among friends crowded in the living room...I think me and my bro were the only ones sympathizing with Margarito as the fight was about to be stopped.
Everyone over here shouted and hollered, and I did as well...it was a fight. But damn, kind of a let-down since Margarito never seemed to be in the fight. Mayorga...MAYORGA put up a better fight......just....wow. I literally said that like 4 or 5 times...couldn't believe it.
To think that Margarito was the cause of so much suffering I endured on July 26th, 2008...and then subject me to further suffering as I watched him take those swift, precise, hard haymakers...God-damn, the force and precision that Shane threw those punches with...nearly decapitated Margarito.
Texan...I'm puertorrican...but I feel ya'. :puppy_dog
I never got why he was so invincible.
right... this was bound to happen sooner or later.... it's probably best it happen now so you wouldnt put too much stock behind him
Fuck Margacheato. I took pleasure in watching Mosley beat him like the pussy he is, especially after the handwrap issues came to light. "Most avoided man" my ass, he's a coward, a fake, and Mosley ripped off the veil tonight.
I know how you feel my friend, because everything you just said i am feeling too..... i guess the words or way to describe it is, like when you are a child and then you fined out there is no santa clause... haha thats how it feels... there is no such thing as santa clause... haha
hahaha, thats great man. Oh man, I needed that laugh. Damn this sucks bad. The glove issue is what really got to me. I mean to see your fighter go down like that, and then the glove issue :puppy_dog

It wasn't that bad. It was actually a good move. Still Marg had his chances but Shane is an elite fighter who can take what he can give. Marg was completely overmatched.
