I like this fight for multiple reasons:
1) It shows Bob that he is no longer in control
2) It will be another big fight for Floyd and Cotto
3) It is a fight many people wanted to see for years
4) Floyd seems dedicated to fighting the top names
5) I want to see the PPV results.
I think it would be best to let Floyd come to you. I am yet to see someone put pressure on him and have it end well. Oscar tried it and missed more punches than he ever did before (percent wise).
This has to be a joke. Everybody knows that Mike Tyson would bight the bear's ear off in the first round and then knock it out in the 2nd round. Make it a Grizzly bear and then we have a better fight; however, I would still give Tyson the edge :boxing:
Styles make fights. Tony may have a style that is difficult for Cotto to go up against. If he does not win, I don't think he should retire (even if he gets knocked out). It really comes down to the round it potentially happens in and the fight leading up to the point.
He could be anywhere from 1-20 it depends where u want to put him.
Pretty much. I would have like to see him fight Oscar while he was in his prime (Oscar).
I loved Haye in the face-off. There was a moment when I was like, "Wladimir wants to hit him right now, you can feel it", then Haye said the same thing. He has jokes, I hope he wins. He would be a much better face for boxing (love him or hate him).
I can understand Martinez's frustration. It doesn't matter if you are the best or one of the top 3 p4p if you can't get the money fights; sadly, he won't get those fights until bigger names step in the ring with him.
yes. ortiz needs to tell himself that he's not letting floyd use him for floyd's exhibition antics. let him come forward and when booing starts floyd would come forward. he's getting sensitive nowadays. he's bragging about how he stood there in front of mosley. riight. still not enough to impress the audience who wants ko's. :boxing:
That would be the ideal situation.
Floyd has shown the ability to effectively apply pressure and land some vicious bodyshots while he's at it. Corley and Zab got raped with bodyshots. Mosley was punked by Floyd. THe difference is Ortiz doesn't have the slick mentality like Corley and Zab or Mosley's iron chin, so he would get stopped. Kid also appears to be a front runner, them bodyshots kill his stamina in the quickness.
Floyd is good at attacking and defending; however, he is best at defending. If Victor works on dodging and moving in during camp, it would be his best chance of victory. Let Floyd come in, try and move in and let your hands go.
Mosley would win via K.O. He may be older, not as fast as he once was, and clearly not in his prime; however, his last 2 losses where from the two best in the sport. Floyd's speed intimidated him, just like Pac-man's power...Khan has neither of those (on the level as the two above), so Mosley would be more aggressive. I am sure Mosley can take more hits from Khan than Khan can take from Mosley.
What are you talking about? Trout didn't duck Lara. Lara's team never put a real offer on the table. After reading about Lara potentially wanting to fight Trout, he waited for an offer that never came. If there was an offer, Austin didn't hear about it. He said himself that if there is a good deal on the table he will fight.
Floyd has the right to say whatever he wants as long as he fights good fights. As soon as he came back, he took on Ortiz, and now he is going up to 154 to fight Cotto. He isn't exactly picking easy fights...well, maybe for him they are easy. Anyways, people will always find fault in anything Floyd says.
The difference is that allot of the people that they fought whom are the same, Floyd fought them after they had a good win. Heck, Ortiz's win over Berto was impressive and that deserved a shot at Floyd. Mayweather is only fighting Cotto because Manny wasn't willing to go up to 150, Floyd is going up to 154. Mayweather's competition is above Manny's.
With that being said, Bradly seems to be the biggest threat (other than Marquez) that Pac has fought. He is undefeated, young, and hungry. It is the first time in a long time that Manny is fighting someone who is at 100% and I dare to say in his prime or close. Nobody can take anything away from Pac's current fight.
You have to show me where he schooled Martinez. Video or something? But it's a totally different ball game come fight night and no way would I pick Trout over Martinez in an actual match up.
I don't own the footage, but I believe it was briefly talked about in one of Austin's interviews when people were not paying him much attention. I also tried to warn people about Guerrero after he put a beating on Pac in a sparring session. I know that things are different come fight-night;however, it does indicate a certain level of skill.
I think this is funny because I've been telling you all about Trout since he beat David Lopez. I told everyone about how he schooled Martinez and Margarito in sparring, and nobody wanted to believe me. I hope everyone has learned their lesson.
Can Pactards and Bradtards explain why is Pacquiao asking for a 147 catchweight if he's so superior to Cotto and would give him an equally vicious beating in a rematch?
The easy answer is....no.
All of Floyd's past pay checks are irrelevant here. Floyd will never see another pay check, and he's only worth $340 million, so Floyd is blowing through his money because he claims he made $300 million against Pac alone.
Mayweather Promotions is failing - the promotional company has no fighters of any significance. Mayweather has no advertiser money coming in.
10 years from now - we'll see where Mayweather is money-wise.
1) Floyd's previous payments mean a lot; especially since he can come back and fight almost anyone at clear $32M as a minimum + PPV upside.
2) Estimations are not facts. If he really invested in Real Estate like he said he did, then there is a big chance that his networth on Google is off.
3) He might have made $300M vs. Pac; however, at his tax bracket, he'd only pocket half of that.
4) $25M is an insult to Floyd, and Dana knows it. He'll get the $100M in the end if this fight happens.
all Trout has done is talk &fight has-beens & noboodies...time he shuts up & fight someone credible...
David Lopez was a good opponent. Also, he has been trying to get a fight with more credible people. They just don't want to fight him.
