Pacquiao is one of the greatest of
all time - - Evander Holyfield Brad Cooney, Mississippi Fight Sports
6:09 PM \ Home Former 4 time heavyweight champion
of the world Evander Holyfield is a BIG
Pacquiao supporter. I have spoken
with Evander many times over the
years, and he's been a frequent guest
on my Podcast show over on 8CountNews.com. 8CN based out of
Mississippi has followed Holyfield's
career closely. I have spoken with the
man enough times to know that
when he says something, he means it.
We spoke about many topics and of
course one being, Manny Pacquiao.
When I asked Evander if he thought
Pacquiao was one of the greatest of
all time, he quickly said, "He is, and for
a smaller guy to come all the way up in weight and beat bigger guys up to
154lbs, it says a lot."
Holyfield also commended Pacquiao's
personality, "He is a great
ambassador for the sport of boxing.
The way in which he carries himself,
and how he treats his fans is what
separates him from the rest."
Holyfield warns Marquez that he
better be ready once the bell rings, "
If you fight Manny Pacquiao, you
better be ready. If you ain't ready,
you are in trouble because when that
bell rings, he is coming. He is coming and he is going to throw a lot of
punches at you."
Holyfield throughout his hall of fame
career has entered the ring in very
good shape. He's worked hard in the
gym for many years, and this is one
reason he respects Pacquiao so much.
Holyfield admires how hard Pacquiao trains in the gym, " He works hard in
the gym and that is what pays
dividends in the ring. He gets in the
ring and he takes care of business."
Holyfield will go down as one of the
greatest of all time. When one of the
greatest of all time says another is one
of the greatest of all time, that means
something.

pac is great man do i have to agree with everything he does to make u happy?
mosley KOed marg
cotto knocked down clottey
marg destroyed cotto also
mayweather koed hatton (which had never happend)
is this what ur looking 4??? i dont get ur question
look man pac is an ATG okay hes a great fighter but i feel as if hes a little overrated when u actually look at what hes been doing lately
Blasphemy!!!!!!!!! A thought out opinion about Manny is not allowed!
pac is his own man, nobody beat them like he did just like he didnt beat them like others did, his style is tailor made to destroy guys like marg, hatton, cotto... good job pac!!!!!!! im not saying he didnt destroy those guys.... now do u want to go into WHEN he beat them and the circumstances?
how convenient to use the 'tailor made excuse'. but hearing that just make pac even greater because it implies that in all the 30-40 fights each of cotto/hatton/hoya/clottey/marg, you're saying not one of them has faced a fighter like pac. good job :biggthump
and i was already referring to WHEN HE BEAT THEM, so again, name any 135 or 140lber who beat these guys the way pac did, WHEN HE FOUGHT THEM.
this thing is subjective. but if a lot of famous boxers themselves say the same thing, then pac must be one of the greatest. i for one would rather hear people say it than me saying it.
i'm just saying that pactards need to tone this down. it's so obvious already. just let others say it.
:boxing:
pacs greatness is sealed, it was sealed at 135, but from there on its just a menstral show ran by bob arum. hes doing what he does tho but its played out now...
name any 135 or 140lber at that time who would beat the crap out of odlh, hatton, cotto, clottey, margarito, THE WAY PAC DID. try even any 147.
THE PACMANS LEGENDARY RECORD, LOL
Who in the hell is 90% of these guys, two of them ko'ed THE PACMAN!His record is funny as hell. Only Marquez,Eric Marrales, and Barrera are the only ones worth mentioning on his record, every body else were coming off losses, on the down side of there career.

That's the whole issue with the testing. If Pac takes the test and struggles with Floyd, let alone fails to win the fight, haters will assume he was roiding before this fight, not that Mayweather was the better boxer. The only way for Pac to truly win, is to take the tests and beat Floyd in an embarrassing fasion (which will not happen)
But floyd is taking the tests too. Wont the tests have the same affect on him as they would Manny?
Isn't floyd a 1st ballot HOF too? Let me ask you this:
If Manny and floyd do fight, and Manny takes random OST and loses to floyd, don't you think that changes how you evaluate him? Additionally, if he takes tests and wins, doesn't that also elevate him higher?
If Manny had not used so many excuses when floyd requested testing this would be a non issue. He is a 1st ballot HOF no question. But "i'm afraid of needles" can't be accepted as a legitimate excuse, nether from his haters or his true fans.

pac never said he was afraid of needles.
that was bob talking out of his ass. but whatever.
Ryann that was manny. Bob never said that. No need to lie about it.
pac is gonna be in the hall of fame whether or not he takes the non-sanctioned, unproven test that is being imposed by his opponent that no one else in boxing has to take.
We agree but that isnt what I asked. If Manny takes test and erases all doubts and wins then he really elevates himself. Either way there is no legitimate reason for not agreeing to take the same tests as your opponent. Its equal. Its fair. And it erases any doubts.

So a test is preventing him from being one of the greatest of all time? Really? If Pac retires todayI would put him probaly in the top 25 fighters of all time. He doesn't really need Floyd. His resume and accomplishments put him as a first ballot hall of fame. Its Floyd that needs Manny. Think about it. I know that he's undeafeated but right now Manny has surpassed him. I give Floyd credit hes not dumb. I don't agree with his choice of his next opponent but it makes sense. He's going to beat Ortiz for the welterweight title in stunning fashion and then you will have two champions fighting to unify the welterweight title just like back in the 80's with Leonard and Hearns. This fight will be a big event. They will come to an agreement this time and its going to be 50-50 split. The fight will probaly go down in March or May 2012. Floyd can not wait any longer he is getting older and if or when both Manny and Floyd win there fight the buzz will be back for this fight and the world will want to see it. There is so much money to be made in this fight I'm pretty sure they will fight at least twice. I'm pretty sure that this fight can almost fill the Cowboys Stadium.

manny could be 1 of the goat if he takes the test to show that his clean.

unfortunatelly, OBAMA and the NIKE BIG Boss does not think so... you? hmppp.. :spank:
There are 3 ATG that are fighting currently.
Manny Pacquiao
Bernard Hopkins
Carl Froch
Pac and BHop will be in the top 25 when its all said and done and Froch will be in the top 100 and possibly the greatest super middle of all time.

Those 3 are the only ATG's atill active are they?
