It's not that far fetched to me. If Holyfield beats Povetkin, why shouldn't he get a shot? Toney is about to fight Lebedev, and if he wins, why not? It's highly unlikely either of those scenarios come to fruition (especially Evander winning), but if they pulled it off they'd be as good of opponents as any other HW out there.
Sanders totally lacked conditioning and skills. He HAD to fight with hands down because he didn't have enough energy to hold them up. He wouldn't have lasted 2 rounds against a prime Holyfield/Tyson/Bowe/Lewis/Holmes...he was a B fighter. He wouldn't have lasted with a Samual Peter either. The only A list fighter Wladimir fought was an over the hill Ray Mercer. Even Lamon Brewster who got lucky at the end of his fight and had tremendous heart...couldn't be called an A list fighter...even though he was a champion briefly.
Relax. I merely said it was an exciting fight.
Their opponents, Wlad's especially, have been on the whole pretty credible. And Vitali's fight with Sanders was a barnburner.

Understand that I think they do what they do well...that is make the most of there towering size and win. I just can't get excited when I see it. I also acknowledge that hey are not ducking anyone...but that's in their era amazingly enough...that has not even had a single great heavyweight to duck. Sorry...David Haye and Tomasz Adamek will not be found in the Hall of Fame books 30 years from now...nobody will remember them in a few years. Tell me who either fought who were great with the exception of Lewis because Corrie Sanders doesn't cut it.
**edit**
I'll add one more thing...if the Klitschko's era had been 10-20 years ago...maybe they might have also had success against the era's then A list fighters...or maybe not and would have had some more losses on their records...but either way the fights would have proven much more of their legacies...and I think they would have been much more exciting fights. Vitali vs Lenox had me standing and screaming more than a few times. I just would have like to have seen more fights like that from them instead of none at all.
Yeah right...now look at who they fought. Only 1 name on their respective lists stands out... Lennox Lewis and the fact that their greatest assets come from their genetics. I don't know what you think is exciting...but people are not exactly standing up and screaming with overwhelming excitement when they fight.

just imagine the outcry if such fights happened.
I would think Povetkin will fight both Holyfield and Toney before either klitschko fight one of them..
On the other hand, the rumor is/was that Wlad will fight Mormeck so who the hell knows.
Yes almost 100 recorded K.O's between both the brothers but they are "boring" lmao moron
The guys they are fighting aren't bums, the klits just make em look like bums.

Stoppages alone don't make a fighter interesting. Especially one sided stoppages of the ref and corner variety.
I've pretty much given up on the heavyweight division...I don't know why I even bother watching the Klitschko's fights. Those giants know how to get wins...but they are sooooo boring...and completely dwarf almost all their opponents.
To think how great the division was to watch up until a decade ago...all those great exciting matches. It's so bad today that even guys who should have retired a decade ago still keep coming around because there really are no better contenders out there.

Dont see why not....dont care to see it.
Maybe they should earn it first.
Toney lost twice to Samuel Peter five years ago. Peter lost twice to Wladimir Klitschko. Toney hasn't fought a top contender in years, is horrendously out of shape, and can barely even speak anymore.
Evander lost to Ibragimov four years ago. Ibragimov then got whitewashed by Wlad in his next fight. Going back even further, Evander lost to Chris Byrd who was comprehensively beaten by Wlad twice, both before and after that fight, his only losses during that timeframe. Evander Holyfield is nearly fifty years old.
The above two paragraphs should hopefully make it clear why neither of these fights should happen, ever.

:lol1:
No.
Watch the fights of Toney against Danny Batchelder and Holyfield against Sherman Williams, who are both nowhere near being contenders. Now imagine what real contenders would do to them, let alone the Klitschkos.
Not that I wouldn't watch, I'd love to see Toney get KOed.
I hope Toney doesn't because he's too small, but I wouldn't mind seeing Evander getting a last payday and giving a Klitschko a semi-tough fight before getting stopped. This current version of Evander is a better opponent than Mormeck.
