Kimbo Slice vs Eric "Butterbean" Esch!! (4 rounds)
I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself because we're yet to see what Kimbo can do in the boxing ring but in anticipation of his 4 round boxing debut,
I couldn't help but wonder how he would fare against the "King Of The 4 Rounder" Butterbean!
So let's get it!
Kimbo Slice vs Eric "Butterbean" Esch!!
Mosley is shot to pieces and has absolutely no chance in beating Khan.
Let's make the fight happen, :boxing:.
It does seem to be the typical pattern for the top fighters today.
In Khan's case, it's not so bad right now still being an up and coming young champion. Mayweather fighting Mosley after Mosley coming off such a big win is ok, but Pac fighting him two years later after two losses was just poor form. At 40 years old after two losses and looking shot, you shouldn't be getting the biggest fights in the sport against the P4P No. 1. You should be fighting the up and coming young champions needing some tests though.
I wouldn't mind the fight TBH. It's a different type of test as it's against a bigger guy. It's not Morales who's still lost 6 of his last 7 fights or something and coming up from being great at 122 pounds. It's a real great 147 pound fighter, albeit a shot one. If you're going to be fighting old, shot, no risk fights just because of the name value, at least make it a semi-test by fighting someone who's natural to the weight rather than a shot super-bantamweight great.
Mosley can't handle Khan's pace. Mosley is more powerful and has a one shot Knock down or KO opportunity. His age won't let him have the output he needs to win. Once he gets tired he'll hold a lot and if Khan puts together a good body attack and stays consistent with it he could KO and retire Mosley. It could really get bad for Mosley against Khan.
Mosley would win via K.O. He may be older, not as fast as he once was, and clearly not in his prime; however, his last 2 losses where from the two best in the sport. Floyd's speed intimidated him, just like Pac-man's power...Khan has neither of those (on the level as the two above), so Mosley would be more aggressive. I am sure Mosley can take more hits from Khan than Khan can take from Mosley.
I'd hate to see this fight!
Ive always liked Mosley ( though lost some respect for him the way he went out vs Pac )
but to see him losing to the likes of Khan would be hard to watch. I thought he had a punchers chance vs Floyd but had to watch a beatdown. I knew Pac would beat him and he suffered an even more shameful loss than I expected and now I know Khan would beat him so logic suggests that Mosley would get a thrashed. He keeps losing to fighters I dont want him to lose to and Khan would be another.
Too young and now too quick for old man Shane. Goes without saying though that a prime Shane does a "Prescott" on Khan no doubt.
fight-wise, i'm actually interested in seeing this fight happen, but legacy-wise, its a lose-lose situation for khan.
if khan loses, he'd be laughed at for losing to an old, shot has-been.
if khan wins, he'd be criticized for fighting against an old, shot has-been.
man i posted the same question and got slaughtered on here a few weeks ago!
i thought it would be a good idea for khan to "stay on the heels" of the two best fighters in the world, mayweather and pacquiao, by fighting the last opponent of both, shane mosley.
i was criticized (to say the least) by many of my fellow posters, claiming the fight was stupid, i was stupid and the fight would never happen.
personally, i think it would be a good test at 147 for the up-and-coming khan.
mosley just fought pacquiao, arguably the best in the world, 3 months ago and now he's not worthy enough to fight amir khan at 147, a weight amir has never fought at before?
cmon now.
Khan would run rings around mosely jabbing him for the first few round till he gasses out. Then just do a standard Khan job and box mosely and win on points.
Mosely has a chance of course, because he can KO khan with 1 punch.
Khan wins by UD.
