As always, there are people on this forum criticising the records of great boxers. One poster even held the Clinton Mitchell loss against Hopkins. You need to remember that Hopkins (unlike almost all other top boxers) had no amateur career. Mitchell was his first fight of any kind. Does anyone really think Mitchell would have beaten him after he had a couple of fights under his belt? That he managed to go 12 rounds in a competitive fight with a prime Roy Jones Jr in only his 24th fight of any kind is testament to how good he was.
There are other posters criticising both Hopkins and Golovkin for fighting "blown up welters". Do these same posters use the same reasoning with Hagler and Monzon. The best fighters Hagler fought were probably Hearns, Duran and Leonard, all of whom came up from lower weights. Similarly, some of the best fighters Monzon fought were probably Griffith and Napoles who came up from welterweight.
Let's just appreciate that Monzon, Hagler, Hopkins and Golovkin are or were great middleweight champions and we've been lucky to be able to see them fight
He retired before Floyd even got to 140, and losing to Ricky Hatton should make you question whether Tsyzu is as good as you think he is.
Floyd moved to 140 fight for the first time when he defeated DeMarcus Corley on 22/5/04. Tszyu retired in 05 after losing to Hatton.
Is this a serious question? Anthony is a very talented young heavyweight and may be the future of the division but if Loma was the same size, he would be far too experienced and skilled for Anthony. Loma by destruction.
Hearns TKO loss to Leonard. Hearns outboxed him for 13 rounds (no easy feat) and was ahead on all judges scorecards. He just gassed out and Sugar Ray caught him.
Hardly a bum. It's fine to say that you think Manny would beat him but caliing him a bum is silly. He beat Mitchell, Margarito, Quintana, Wright, Martinez and Lara among others. Many of these guys were rated in the top half dozen in their respective divisions as well as Williams himself who also made many peoples pfp lists. Hardly a bum!
Have a look on YouTube at his only pro match against Andrew Hartley , who had previously won one match and lost 13, and then tell me Zelenoff is anything other than hopeless. He is a complete joke! I really can't see how someone with a 0 - 1 losing record can ever achieve a 100 - 0 winning record!
How was Trinidad past his best when he fought BHop. He was the favourite going into the fight, was only in his late twenties, had a 40-0-0 record and was a reigning middleweight titlist.
