Here's basically what happened. First 2 rounds Golovkin came out and wanted to see what Kell Brook had. He tried boxing with Brook and ended up getting out boxed a bit due to Brook's unique angles. However, he also saw that Brook can't hurt him.
3rd round the fight was basically over. Golovkin adjusted, bull-rushed Brook and dropped Brook, but it was ruled a slip. He then broke Brook's eye socket with hard jabs and pushed Brook around. Brook's own shots had no effect.
4th round same thing. Brook spending more time at the ropes and taking more shots. His own shots again had no effect, I knew the fight wasn't gonna go another 2 rounds. Ingle also knew this and was trying to encourage him in the corner.
5th round, Golovkin begins an onslaught of hooks and Brook has nothing left. Dude could barely stand. Trainer threw in the towel.
I know people here like to root for the underdog, I like Brook too but in reality the fight wasn't even competitive after the first 2 rounds. As soon as Golovkin started touching him the kid was gone. Props to Brook for having the heart though.
Btw, what happened to Brook would happen to Canelo too if the fight happens in the near future. Nobody's standing up to that power.
Vs Khan, Canelo threw 170 punches and landed 64 (37.6%)... Last night, Brook threw 261 and landed 85... GGG threw 301 and landed 133 (44.2%)... :)
Sshsh he only landed 1

Eye socket got busted in the 1st round.
nice try though
Didn't Brook say that his eye socket was broken in the second round?
He probably doesn't remember clearly, he started pawing at that eye in the middle of the 3rd round.
Canelo wouldn't do as well as Brook did.
