A lot of good that's gonna do. Hatton got his ass kicked by Collazo even though he got the win. This is Khan's very first fight at 147 and Collazo has been at 147 long enough to have fought Ricky Hatton.
Stop it buddy. It's just not the same.
Yeah but there's just one big difference...Maidana isn't coming off of a big fat loss. He's actually coming off of an impressive victory over a previously undefeated fighter who was the favorite. I agree with you but Rios just got his ass kicked while Maidana did the ass kicking. And this is boxing. Anything can happen.
That Detroit writer was just salty because his hometown champ got spanked. The wife is the manager as well and she talks a good game as well. I wonder how she would've acted if the dog won by KO.
Juan Manuel Marquez is a fantastic fighter. Very crafty, very intelligent and he has tremendous heart. He's been targeted by the Pacquiao camp very strategically. I saw the veto where Michael Koncz admitted to putting the 3rd Marquez bout on hold for as they did. He admitted that he hoped the age and the extra weight would slow the slower fighter further. Pac already has a speed advantage but his team wants him to have more? That compromises the integrity of the fight and the integrity of his GOAT myth and legacy. Manny has let his handlers ruin his image. If it's not his choice, he has some responsibility in the matter for allowing it to happen. Manny admitted to underestimating Marquez. His team is responsible for that because they sold it to Manny as an easy fight.
I watched that as well...
So was I. I DVR'd that show. SRL was a bad mofo. When Emanuel Steward made a comment after the 8th round of Mayweather-Mosley that mentioned SRL, I didn't fully understand what he meant until I watched the Ringside. That was badazz.
Vanes is looking nice in the session. I didn't see enough if his fights to know his style but he looks like he has some skills. I only saw him fight Joe Green @ Yankee Stadium on 6-9-2010.
Absolutely. He should keep moving forward. Those were tough breaks that made fans connect with him. I think he will become champion soon and he will continue to lay guys out.
I think at this point in Mayweathers Career, with the decline, and how he looked against the Slower Cotto, Canelo gives Mayweather a beating.
Mayweather does not have the power at 154lb to slow Canelo down. Mayweather doesn't use his legs anymore, he likes to lean against the ropes to rest, while attempting to dodge bullets.
What do you guys think? I'd be surprised if Mayweather took the Canelo fight. I don't think he wants it.
Don't get it twisted. Mayweather was sick going into the Cotto fight. If he's anything like I an when I'm sick, then he was not as energetic as he needed to be. You can clearly hear that he was sick during the final press conference. You can see the vaseline in his nose when the ref face instructions. He had slowed down a bit but the Cotto fight could mislead people into thinking he has slowed more than he actually has. Canelo would get beat bloody and bruised. Oscar knows this. At 35 going on 36, Floyd is still fresh and sharp. He could keep any fighter on the end of his jab very easily. Canelo isn't exempt from being another victim. Let us not forget that Canelo got his bell rung by Jose Miguel Cotto on the undercard of Mayweather-Mosley. Jose Miguel Cotto was a 140lbs fighter fighter at 147. Canelo almost got KOd by him. He has progressed but not enough. He's studying Floyd's game and I can tell by the pull counter he hit Lopez with on Sat. Floyd spanks him.
I don't quite understand where you get the bloated and slow from. Obviously Miguel Cotto has been fighting at 154 for quite a while now. Bloated is what Juan Manuel Marquez was when he fought Floyd. As far as being slow is concerned, Cotto does not have slow hands. He matched Mosley's speed, Judah's speed, and he had to have some sort of speed in oreder to hit Floyd. You are just a troll right now looking to talk down and you have chosen your words wisely, but they have no merit.
Pacquiao is desperate for money right now. He has been exposed to the people. His promoter made certain that the May 5th date wasn't going to find Pacquiao across the ring from Floyd. He's losing his luster while Floyd is still going strong.
I'd go for Pacquiao. He's been the one who's been drummed up to be the one to hand me my 1st loss so I'd go for him just to shut everyone the hell up. The people were saying that I'm afraid of this chump so I'd go out there and dust him up. I'd let Martinez make a statement and make himself more of a draw before I'd jump in there with him but after I (if I were Mayweather) kicked Manny's ass, I'd take some time off and eye Sergio closely. So if I were Floyd, I'd take care of the Pacman and then I'd take care of Martinez.
#InThatOrder...
He won't carry the blame so long as he is a part of Top Rank Promotions. It's not his fault. I'm sure that he'd fight anyone of the top fighters in his division. We have to keep in mind that these fighters are involved in the Top Rank System. I guess he takes blame for being a part of Top Rank but with the success stories that have come from Top Rank, it's not hard to see why some fighters would trust Bob and Todd. I don't agree with it and I think Top Rank needs to step up to the plate. They kept Lopez and Gamboa from each other and they will do the same with Rigo and Donaires. Once one of them loses, TR loses money so they are businessmen so sometmes putting 2 fighters together is a lose-lose. I don't fully agree but I understand business.
That's what we want. We want a war, not a snoozer. These men have to fight for stardom. We know these men are master craftsmen but we want violence and bloodshed. Whichever one of these fighters comes away with a KO victory in a war, they could put themselves in place to be a PPV attraction.
Nice vid too. Got Max 'can you grab Manny's nalgas' Kellerman outta there and let the fighters conduct the interview. Nice work and great build up. I hope it lives up to what they're saying it will be.
I don't care what this guy thinks. He's obviously not too bright seeing as how the accounting firm found him getting ripped off when they dug through his books. Comments like that just prove how dull his mental knife is. Floyd Mayweather will do exactly what everyone knows he's going to do to Manny. He's going to pick him clean.
Unless one of these two top fighters takes somewhat of a risk in the ring, we will certainly have another Bradley-Alexander on our hands. I like to see two top African-American fighters on top of their games squaring off. Mosley and Mayweather is the best that comes to mind. They fought and took care of what they needed to take care of. I hope Ward-Dawson entertains. Their names are recognized and they are both lineal champions but the action has to translate.
Let's hear you guys make a fuss over how Marquez looks. Cheating or being suspected of cheating is the end of the world as long as it's not Manny Pacquiao who's being accused. The same guys that said that Manny has never been caught will say that Marquez has been juicing even though he's never been caught. I love it when the double standards come into play.
They will look stupid as always! Even Mannys defeats are more than Floyd wins! Manny will jump back in with a insane performance like nothing happen! Floyd next fight will be as always...boring , lack lustering, starved for excitement! :WORD:
Funny because I watched Mayweather's last 3 fights and they were all exciting.
I know that Manny has a cult like following but don't try to make it seem as if that man just threw a lucky punch. He fought him 3 times before. He knows him very well. The pump fake to the trademark Pacquiao southpaw straight put Marquez on his seat. He just found a way to counter it at the right time. Do I think he was on something when he was training.
I don't feel that way. In boxing, timing is everything. Speed kills but timing mixed with speed and timing mixed with power and accuracy is deadly. Where Garcia would be at a speed disadvantage, he could still get the job done. One of those big left hooks on Zab's chin and we will be saying good night Irene. Zab can defeat Garcia but it may not happen. Even in the Barclays. He'd be a victim. Danny need not lose focus in that fight because he is in there with a somewhat able bodied veteran with experience. I can't really call it because anything can happen in the theatre of the unexpected. Alls I know is on that night, I'll be in the Barclays thirsty for blood.
As far as I'm concerned, Manny Pacquiao is still P4P #1. He's the Pound For Pound King of weight draining fighters. He fought Juan Manuel Marquez who was fighting at 135. He fought Bradley who was fighting at 140. He's about to fight Marquez again and Marquez now fights at 140. Bob Arum is talking about putting Manny in there with Brandon Rios who ust had his 1st fight at 140. It's either weight drained or smaller fighters. A 4th fight with Juan Manuel Marquez is a joke. They act like there's no other fighters out there to take on. They just don't want to do it. Most of the fighters are partaking in random testing so that's something to consider.
We didn't need the iron boy to say that. We already know this. Manny Pacquiao was "excited" about facing Miguel Cotto for a 2nd time. He was excited about having 154 pound Cotto drain down to 147.
I never hated on Manny Pacquiao. I just had my opinions and theories. I spoke my version of the truth. Honestly speaking, I respect Manny for the courage and heart he showed. Anything can happen in boxing. Manny Pacquiao is a warrior. I'm one of the biggest Mayweather supporters out here but I respect Pacquiao as a fighter. Hopefully he isn't seriously damaged.
100,000 fans at Wembley sounds tempting and Khan is super easy work. He will get knocked out. Ain't no guarantee that he'll make it past Alexander. I would advise Floyd to return to 147 where he should remain for the duration. Candidates should be considered after the fights go down. Garcia is in the mix as the obvious. The most decorated and legit right now due to his linear status. That would give Floyd 3 back to back linear title appearances if he took that fight next. The winner of Khan-Alexander or the winner of Soto-Karass vs Thurman. Depending on who makes the most noise. Also, if Maidana takes Broner out by nasty KO, you got a hot fight fot Floyd there.
Alvarez (who's close second to Floyd on plus/minus with 18% while Floyd's dropped to 25%), Gamboa, Broner, Russell Jr., and Miguel Angel 'Mikey' Garcia. All of these fighters still have to prove their worth by going out there and testing the fabric of their warrior spirit. Some of these names may change in the future but for now, these are the first 5 that come to mind and they are in no particular order.
Cheaters never win and winners never cheat.
I will not be sold on that lame excuse. Lamont cheated, period. His brother cheated when he repeatedly hit Bam Bam Rios on the cup. He did it so many times that he got DQ'd. He told the guys in the fighter meeting that he isn't above resorting to dirty tactics if he's in trouble during a fight. These guys come from the mean ass streets where people cut corners and do underhanded things to advance. I understand the mentality but in the world of boxing, it is UNACCEPTABLE!!! Lamont should be ashamed of himself. I saw the piece that CNN did on him where he was telling the kids who were having it rough, to keep hope alive and never give up on your dreams. Some example he's setting right now.
I'm someone who supported Peterson and I think he's a good dude but I will not stand behind him or make excuses for him the way the *******s make excuses for someone who wouldn't even partiipate in a program like this. I say that if more fighters participated, we'd see a lot more fighters getting exposed for the dirty cheats that they are. Amir Khan was on the cheater radar but he's not the one who is under the microscope. I say that a fighter who has an Olympic pedigree such as Amir Khan, Yuri Gamboa, and G. Rigo are highly unlikely to use PEDs. Obviously they had what it took to make it to the Olympics and win medals. We all know that Olympic testing is the most stringent.
At 35 years of age it is expected for Floyd Mayweather to remain at 154 after this fight. Especially if he checks in to the ccdc and eats a boatload of hunny buns and cinnamon rolls, He's going to remain at 154 so unless Pac moves up, that fight is never going to happen.
