Man fuc k a casual fan. This fight isn't for them. This is for those of us that enjoy the sweet science of boxing and want to see the chess match that will take place between two of the best fighters of this generation. Who will dictate the pace of the fight? Will Ward get inside and beat him up or will Dawson keep the fight on the outside and keep Ward in check. Will they mix it up with each other and give different looks? All that remains to be seen.
You got to eat, drink and shyt this sport to realize how good a matchup this is. If your just a fan of certain styles of boxing or only enjoy brawls than good for you. Rios vs Alvarado is right around the corner. September 8 just isn't for you. Nobody's forcing you to watch.
But i can't fuccin wait for this personally.
Missing the point

He's not the man at 175 in my book until he beats Pascal. Dawson made his name beating older guys but when he faced a young fighter he lost his O.
True story.
butt hurt? what are you 12? grow up kid. you talked out of your ass and got corrected, deal with it.
lol, alright man, I'd ask you to reread the post more carefully before jumping to conclusions like the mature adult you just displayed yourself to be, but you might get carried away again. Here let me clear it up, Dawson IS NOT by any stretch of the imagination JUST an opponent versus anybody...
so....I went over your head, no big deal, but 5 paragraphs? butt hurt much?

if dawson is the champion, loses the championship to pascal who then loses it to hopkins and dawson wins it back from him, guess what.. chad is the champion, and as such he should be recognized as the best in the division regardless if pascal has a win over him.
i agree he should avenge his loss to pascal at some point, but even if he doesnt hes still the champion at 175. champion not titlist, making him the man at the weight.
and dawsons resume does consist of alot of older fighters but thats not his fault, they were the best at 175 at the time so dawson had to beat them to be considered the best. he has some good wins over younger fighters too, adamek most notably.
and who gives a **** about an 0? if you are fighting the best you are bound to come up short at some point, after a very long and successful run chad had an off night and lost. but he came back to win the championship, give him credit.
he beat harding, adamek, tarver x2, johnson x2, hopkins, diaconu etc.. thats a good resume, add 3 title reigns and one lineal championshiop to that and i dont think its fair to look past all of it bcuz of a single loss where he visibly underperformed. especially after he came back and beat the champion who twice defeated the man who handed him that single loss.
your post is beyond ignorant.
dawsons is more than an opponent. hes a reigning champion, champion not titlist making him THE man at 175. hes on the p4p list and has a far better resume than ward.
this isnt one top fighter in ward taking on another challenger, its two top fighters in ward and dawson coming together for a clash of champions. a clash of two fighters both with reason to think they are the next p4p king and face of the entire sport.
dawson isnt one of pacquiaos opponents, hes not some washed up fighter going for one last payday or some overmatched contender at level he never fought at before. dawson is tested at the highest level and in his prime, hes got every reason to be confident. i dont see any jitters, dawson looked just as relaxed as ward.
the video was great bcuz it was more real than most pre fight hype. you couldnt do this with a fight where theres alot of animosity, you would need a mediator. but bcuz these guys are so laid back, honest and respectful they could just carry on a conversation about the fight. ward was trying to read dawson and chad knew it, other than that it was almost casual.
its not rehearsed its just that they are two quiet guys, chad in particular. he doesnt have alot to say, hes just there to fight. other than the hopkins rematch he always has that approach, respectful and professional but boiling over with quiet confidence.

No you're not...
I see chad dawson being a fan, and doing his Shane Mosley jitters every now and then. Ward looks relaxed - if one didn't know better he might look high at moments lol. As for confidence...demearor...here let me simplify this, just imagine Pacquiao is Ward and Dawson is any opponent (or vice versa, it don't matter), you would see this and say, 'they're hugging and kissing.'
They're as confident as they should be in front of cameras - this isn't hidden camera footage. still looking forward to the fight, this rehearsed conversation doesn't mean anything.

haha am i the only one that felt awkward watching that? they shouldve jus did it with kellerman.

That's what we want. We want a war, not a snoozer. These men have to fight for stardom. We know these men are master craftsmen but we want violence and bloodshed. Whichever one of these fighters comes away with a KO victory in a war, they could put themselves in place to be a PPV attraction.
Nice vid too. Got Max 'can you grab Manny's nalgas' Kellerman outta there and let the fighters conduct the interview. Nice work and great build up. I hope it lives up to what they're saying it will be.
Last time I put all my eggs in the Chad Dawson basket I ended up starved. I will go with Ward. He hasn't let down yet. Probably be a close controversial decision.
why do people keep making this comparison, because theyre black and getting the hype on hbo?
they fight nothing like bradley or alexander
When people say its going to be like Bradley/Alexander, that doesn't mean its going to look exactly like Bradley/Alexander. It just means the fight will be 2 top guys in a division producing a boring event becuz of their styles...
Lol, did this really have to be spelled out?
Why do die hard boxing give 2 f^@ks what casual fans think? You never hear die hards fans of the NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA say I hope casual fans like the primetime game tonight. F^ck them if they like they like it if they don't they don't. Everybody is not gonna like everything let them like what they like. If you as a die hard fan aren't willing to sit them down and explain to them the sweet science of boxing then STFU. That is like a teacher giving out a test to students about a subject she never taught and explained to them and expecting them to understand it and pass the test.
Lol WHAT??? First of all, u mad? Second of all this is nothing like the bold... What does that even mean?
The point of my post is that this is a huge mega-fight between 2 top guys, proving that just becuz Mayweather and Pacquiao aren't fighting, doesn't mean boxing's other top guys aren't fighting each other... But if we were to bill it as such, any casual or non-fan that watches this fight will see how boring it is and pin it up that boxing is a boring sport
I'm not getting emotional, I just don't appreciate the irony, I don't REALLY CARE what the casuals think as far as it effecting my appreciation for the sport... But as a fan of boxing, it would be nice to see it getting its just due for producing mega fights
As a fan, I want the sport to thrive, and get attention... Is that asking too much? Wants vs Needs lady

Thank you, the styles are different. where Alexander felt the pressure and rough tactics he back off. In Chad fight against Pascal it got rough he got cut did he back down? no he stepped on the gas and ALMOST took pascal out... different fight fellas cant wait for this one
This fights more likely to be Bradley/Alexander
