Whyte vs AJ is a really good fight to watch down the road, but not now. Not sure about all this Ortiz hype though tbh. Wilder fights aside, he's been god awful in every fight I've seen. It does seem like he got overhyped by fans of Wilder. The fact that him and his team were flat out caught lying when Hearn shown proof of a great offer on ThaBoxingVoice means I don't trust him at all when he accuses anyone of ducking.
no theres nothing wrong with what i posted...its truth...haymons fighters love him .....oscar just had the biggest star in boxing walk out on him and had ryan(potential big star) already beefing with him on social media....
al isnt going away...and hes successful...that wont change no matter how much the haters try to skew reality...one look no further than the thread yesterday where coppinger reported spence/garcia ppv #s.....just go look at the reaction from fgts that are just like you
What makes you think I'm a fan of Oscar or a hater of Haymon? You can't see the forest from the trees I'm afraid. I'm about as neutral to all as can be.
I've already said Haymon's fighters love him. He protects them very well both in the ring (opponents wise) and out (life help). I'd join him before GBP. I'd make a ton of money, avoid a lot of tough fights, he would manipulate media to protect me (as we saw with Wilder, though I think Finkel played a better role there) and obviously offer me financial advice to set me up for life.
If it's a choice of him or Oscar I jump to Haymon ASAP.
hes difficult because when he doesnt need you he wont eff with you...and thats how they all work
if bob arum had his 147 roster and crawford was the lone wolf over at the pbc do you think bob would making funs with the pbc and crawford? hell no
when al needs fights for his guys he will go get them...he just isnt in that position much.....haymon went after fury when he needed a big fight for wilder because hearn was ducking wilder....and when that fight was over he wanted an immediate rematch which bob blocked from happening right away
some of you are too dumb and blinded with haymon hate to see things clearly...haymon doesnt make fights with you if he has good fights at home...and thats how most would/do operate.......so when bob is hoping that maybe hell offer danny garcia up for crawford he cries and says "hes difficult"..its because hed rather have spence beat him ...its just smart business and one that arum employs when it benefits him...they all want to do that...
my goodness there is so much wrong in this post. Your Haymon bias is just as extreme as any haymon-hater you call out.
he doesn't really need it. The Fury fight is there for him and will still be huge even if it's a dull fight tomorrow.
I think there are times in a career where someone has to look good and this isn't really it. He just needs to win.
They're all corrupt as hell. Fighters wouldn't really complain about Haymon because he protects and shields them very well. It's no coincidence that all other promoters basically say he's the most difficult to create fights with.
checked thaboxingvoice for the first time in about 6 months and holy ****....i turned off at 90 seconds.
The absolute length that these guys to go to defend/twist is unreal.
Would love him to fight Whyte. It's a grudge match and I'd love the build up. Even if DW loses his rematch against Povetkin or Wilder loses a freak fight next time, Whyte vs Wilder is simply a fight I want to see.
I'm 99% sure Whyte gets laid out, but still.
They deserve attention and equal chance of gaining popularity/exposure which can then increase their pay but it should not be a blanket equal pay either way.
If a woman boxer brings in the same amount of money as a man, then she should be paid as much as the man. If she doesn't, she shouldn't. The reverse should also be true.
I just hope y'all will admit that the PBC fighters haven't been ducking Crawford, Bob is the problem not Crawford, Spence, or any other PBC fighters. This is on Bob.
It's on all of them tbh. I don't think Al Haymon is sitting there thinking "oh I must make this fight next!".
There are no protagonists among these promoters. Haymon, Arum, Hearn, Warren, Oscar...they're all the same.
Eddie Hearn is a conman just like the rest. He's secretly over the moon that his fighter lost.
Nah, Whyte vs Fury would have made him a lot of money and Fury obviously wins to keep AJ/Fury alive.
Frank Warren basically said it was team Wilder who were obstructing it from taking place. It does make sense tbh. Not only from a boxing POV but if Wilder can knock out a decent name before a rematch in 12 months time, then his stock will rise again.
Only problem is it is a risk. We saw what happened when he turned down the AJ fight. Time will tell.
Yeah he was good. Clearly a level or 2 ahead.
Not much more to say though really. Pulev is good but not 'great'. AJ got the job done and finished well.
Ruiz lost the right to an immediate 3rd fight when he was unprofessional tbh. Wilder doesn't really deserve a 3rd fight either since the first was a robbery but officially, I guess he does. If Ruiz can get in shape (for him) and have some good wins, then the AJ fight will be there for him. But I think the stink of his rematch still exists so he needs to do something to fix it.
I do expect AJ to lose the two fights to Fury so after that, there is a list of fights for AJ if he wants to carry on. Wilder, Whyte, Ruiz, Joyce etc. Assuming none of them fall off (I'm sure one or two will).
Eh don't think colour is anything to do with it.
If I was african-american I would be ashamed of a large portion of his race baiting fan base though, at least if I truly wish for genuine equality.
To suggest that African Americans ride with Wilder just because he is an African American is some pathetic, ignorant, racist bullshit. It may be true for some, but it sure as hell isn't true for all.
You will know a lot more than me but on just about every station I watched in the build up (and post fight) to Fury/Wilder, the black American pundits specifically and proudly stated they rooted for Wilder because of his colour.
I can't remember if it was PBC, ESPN or one of the other major sports shows but on one occasion the 4 guys in the studio were discussing the suit, about whether they found it comfortable to watch etc (and praised Fury for diverting the fight away from being a race war) and all 4 said their usual logic when backing/supporting sportsman is black american > any other american > sportsman who they simply like.
But then since I have seen quite a few african americans divert away from Wilder so as I said, you'll know more than I do.
Who cares. Fuck Haymon, Arum, Eddie and Warren. Fans of promoters, managers and advisors are queers.
It is absolutely ridiculous!
They're all the same. Just some are better at hiding it.
Wilder has made some bad decisions, honestly. Turning down 100m, picking Fury etc.
In the grand scheme of things I do think we over-think it though. He's a multi millionaire, has his mansion, has an extreme-cult fan base who worship him even still, has a nice family etc..... he's got it set for him. In a professional sense, sure there will be doubts. But the man behind the gloves should be pretty ****ing happy when he sleeps at night in his personal life.
He's awful.
But Fury is a weird one. Such a terrible resume and then randomly pops up with a top level fight to make it a good one. No consistency lol.
These criminals are trying to cover up corruption. Robbie has a clear agenda against the USA being a brit. Spoon23 spams the same videos (plural) in every thread and never banned. its a clear anti American agenda at work here
Why is everything a conspiracy to some people and why does being a Brit mean he has an agenda against the US?
Thank god I've travelled between the two places a bunch of times else this place would have me thinking all kinds of ridiculous things lol.
When new members join, only legitimate, good posts should be approved. Posts that actually positively contribute to a discussion. Need to make 10-20 before you become a fully fledged member.
Ban half the dumbasses who make a ridiculous amount of posts about the loser of a major fight.
Ban the fanboys who make excessive threads about their favorite fighters (the Johncastallanos types).
Ban the idiots who try too hard to make us all take sides between PBC, Matchroom and Top Rank.
This. It needs some strong moderation though.
UK boxing fans are loyal and don't support a fighter just because he's (one of) the best . Nothing would change at all really. He actually gained popularity after the 1st Ruiz fight if anything. UK loves a comeback story much more than sustained dominance. Case in point; Wimbledon crowd never took to Andy Murray until he got outplayed by Federer (who had more support) and balled his eyes out on camera. That vulnerability meant he was loved from that point on.
Strange thread assuming the OP actually knows anything about UK sports.
Ortiz is underrated by those who think he's trash but he's done absolutely nothing to put him above White and Parker.
He's never beaten anyone on the level of Ruiz, Parker, Rivas or even Chisora. Get a grip.
It could be. 99 yrs. That's basically life in prison. Nobody died. But the victim was in critical condition.
But Floyd seems to ignore it and doesn't want to get involved with her daughter. He's already dealing with the IRS. Fighting at two fronts would be impossible.
He's ignoring the daughter and focusing on the nephew given his recent social media posts. It seemed he's disowning her.
You're basing this on social media posts? C'mon...
Why is bravery coming into it? If the money is right, he would I'm sure.
It's not like USA is some lions den with an intimidating atmosphere. America doesn't have such a culture in its sports.
