He's an ATG British fighter and guaranteed Hall of Famer.
I feel Froch is seriously underrated. Froch is also truly a 15 round fighter in the 12 round era.
I see it as an incredible KO victory to finally close the books on one of the sport's greatest rivalries between 2 legendary fighters.
In my opinion, Marquez has beaten Pacquiao by KO and by proving his technically better than him. I didn't score the first fight but I had him winning the second fight 114-113, 7 rounds to 5 minus the 1 point for the KD.
Third fight I scored it in Marquez' favor too.
He didn't get the decisions, that doesn't change the fact that Marquez deserved those decisions.
So I think Marquez is better at fighting Pacquiao than Pacquiao is at fighting Marquez. I still don't think Marquez would have beaten the fighters Pacquiao beat, like Cotto, Margarito or Clottey, I'm on the fence with Hatton.
Quite possibly one of the most intelligent posts I've seen on this entire forum. Cheers.
Zab was a champion multiple times and on top of that he was also a unified undisputed champion, not many fighters can say that. i feel like some of you guys are letting his most recent fights cloud your judgement.
you actually had to ask about this?
**** me, right? wanting to discuss boxing in a boxing forum, and God forbid it's not about Pacquiao or Mayweather.
Mods pls ban me!
Khan has given us a lot of exciting matches. If he wanted to retire I think now would be a good time and I don't think anyone would much hold it against him.
He just doesn't seem to have his heart into boxing anymore. Also smaller guys like Donaire usually peak pretty fast compared to bigger guys.
Wasn't he also having promotional issues with Top Rank not too long ago? So you also have that in the background.
He's an absolute warrior who doesn't back down from any challenges. He's basically everything a casual and hardcore boxing fan could want in a fighter.
it's going to be a sad day when Froch retires from boxing.
Khan almost got DQ'd last night for excessive holding. How the hell did he steal the show?
The crowd was going nuts when he got a point deducted for holding.
Khan has absolutely NO inside game at all.
Can someone translate? Antonio Moselyrito seems punchdrunk and talking about a bicycle?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Basically he said
"Their both my sons! But, no, they are both good fighters and this is a great fight. I think Maravilla should win it because this weight is too much for Cotto. Also Maravilla likes to move around a lot and use his bicycle, but I just think this weight class is too much for Cotto."
tl;dr
Martinez is going to win because Cotto will be too fat at MW.
Bute was a nice AND exciting win because it essentially revitalized his career. Had Froch not won that fight he probably would of retired.
Also Bute had so much ridiculous hype around him at the time you would swear he was the second coming of SRR.
I can imagine Berto getting caught with left hooks and shrugging saying "can't him me" while he gets repeatedly punched in the face.
Porter by TKO
While this is true I can also see Berto catching Porter with an uppercut when he lunges in all wild.
Keep in mind this was an amateur fight and a huge mismatch. Saying the guy who was winning needs to find a new sport is a bit over-reacting.
The ref should have stopped it. The guy getting beat on turned his back to his opponent TWICE. That alone fits the definition of 'not intelligently defending yourself'.
Good post. I completely agree. Both Pacquiao and Mayweather have done this. I remember Mayweather did this to Cotto, in I think round 11, he hurt Cotto really bad with an uppercut I think and instead of jumping on Cotto he just backed off completely and let him recover. I can't remember which opponent it was for Pacquiao but it was a complete blowout and Pac kept looking back at the ref as if to tell him to stop the fight... I think it might have been Cotto too..
