People have basically annointed GGG is the middleweight champion and or the best best middleweight and he has not proved it in the ring
He passes the eye test, but he isnt a prospect. He is a contender and you actually have to earn your ranking
Daniel Geale, Felix Sturm, and Sergio Martinez all have faced stiffer competition and beaten better fighters than GGG has.
He is a very good fighter and would love to see him fight Martinez for middleweight supremacy. Id Martinez shows his old form against Cotto and remains injury free, I would favor Martinez over GGG
Kinda hard to fight guys when they don't get in the ring. Quillin doesn't want none, Murray has avoided him as has Sturm. Chavez Jr wanted more money, Martinez is looking low risk-high reward. Who should he fight? It's hard for him to get fights.
For all the hype GGG is hella unproven at the world class level. He has defeated 2-3 world class guys and he is supposed to be some beast or avoided fighter? Tyson, Hearns, Julian Jackson, etc. all raked up kos and tko wins fighting scrubs, once they fought world class guys regularly the kos were less frequent
kirkland is better off at 154...Quillin and GGG are on the same level, contenders with trinkets
Sturm has the best or 2nd best resume of anyone ranked at 160
Martinez is the man until he loses
There are politics that go in to boxing but if GGG isnt getting the fights he wants at 160 he can move down or up like everyone else
Chavez should fight at 175 or 190 thats a money fight but not very meaningful consdiering cHAVEZ isnt even ranked in any weight class
Answered your own question there really.
Because GGG is an HBO fighter, and Quillin is a GBP fighter. It's not hard to understand.
So it's suddenly HBO vs SHO and not TR vs GBP.
What extra effort has Quillin done to make this fight happen, since he called out GGG?
Honestly IDK thats not my point
He looks great, but who has he fought....in my eyes he still has a lot to prove?? What he is he gonna do when he is behind on the cards,in a dirty fight, not walking through an opponent, or the other fighter can take his shot...the time will come when he consistently faces top 5 guys
WHat I do know is Sturm is more proven I'd rather see a fight than speculate on it
My point is its put up or move up time for GGG
Im not a part of the majority that thinks everyone is ducking him....His management, politics, etc. play a part to why he hasnt fought many formidible fighters
I apprciate the sentimant about GGG not having 'fought anybody', but you must have at least picked up a little of his history of by now - I don't go in for saying fighters are 'ducking', but for whatever reason the list of recognisable names who who have either been mandated to fight him or have been offered fights with GGG is a long one - and this is just going off the record.
Mandos
Sturm
Geale
NDNJ
Others
Pirog (injured)
Murray (Visa / Promo issues)
Martinez (injured)
JCC (Promo / Monetary issues)
It's all very well saying he should 'step up' - but certainly within his own division there's a wealth of evidence that he's been attempting to for years. If you mean that he should 'step up' to 168. well ultimately I'd have to agree. but which are the big fights there right now? Both Froch and Jr were under negotiation but fell through for well know reasons, Ward is fighting other battles right now, Kesslers gonna need a while, Groves no for the obvious - so who should he fight at SMW? Bika? Winning a belt at 168 would make any further MW fights irrelevent - better wait for the likely Geale fight and Murray next to certain for Monaco in 2015.
No I mean easier paydays as in I want to fight the best from 154-168 unless it's the true champ...as in ignore Lara (154 champ), skip Ward (168 champ), the actual champ of the division who IS calling for a fight right now, only to fight the much heavier but not skilled chavez for a good payday...
Is Ward chasing easy paydays for wanting to fight a middleweight when he said he would move up to 175 3 years ago and eventually fight at heavyweight? Are you going to pay attention to the quotes where he said he wants to fight Golovkin in the future, not right now? Or are you only paying attention to quotes that you can hold against Golovkin?
I heard Canelo is having trouble staying at 154. This would be a fight I would pay for. There is a video floating around the net of GGG sparring with Canelo, it was only sparring but Canelo gave the better of it.
As said already, there is no video of it, only testimonials. If it was floating around, post it. And by the accounts given, Canelo didn't give the better of it.
golovkin is more than willing to fight anyone in his division and he's not even mentioning about "if the money is right" or anything crap like that...he just wants to fight. that's all i need to be a fan. if nobody wants to step up and challenge him that's not his problem.
these morons just can't accept the fact that he's becoming more popular each fight. they want him to go up in weight and fight ward because they think ward can beat him (i think so to) and that will derail his popularity. i hope that fight doesn't happen soon just to prolong the agony of these haters. i notice most of them are floyd fans by the way...don't understand their dislike of golovkin:sad:
Floyd is much, much, much, MUCH more proven than Golovkin. If they were the same size, I would heavily favor Floyd to beat Golovkin.

If by easiest paydays you mean constantly trying to get the best fighters at middleweight to fight him.

Can anyone explain why always the same floyd fluffers always seem to crap on fighters like GGG and Kovalev etc.?
Could be a European vs Black thing. Quillin don't get as much flak from them. I mean if you think GGG is hype job, don't you wanna see him get exposed by Quillin?
Why are fans not demanding GGG vs Quillin?
What do you think calling Quillin a ducker is all about, fans have been calling for the fight for some time now.
Haymon says no, so poor Peter is left trying to explain it.
How many times does Quillin and Golden Boy have to say no before we get the idea?
So why is there no similar thread for Quillin? He gets a pass from this TS and GGG don't?
