Khan won the points battle but Diaz clearly hurt him several times, not a good sign for Khan's future. Khan won but looked bad doing so. He never seems to get better and makes the same mistakes every fight. He starts fast looks good then tires and gets punished. Khan should do a Broner and go to 147 for some favorable match ups and not mess with big punchers.
Garcia is just good all around. He is tough, quick enough and calm in the ring. His patience might be his best attribute. Garcia is a tough fight for anyone.
Is Abregu vs Khan a possible match up? Abregu is strong and punches hard. Khan seems to always get caught after he starts fast and begins to tire. Not a good match up for Khan.
He is 22 and won his hardest fight against a guy I thought he would lose too. He fought in a way I didn't think he could in front of 40,000 people, in the US. Canelo has the look, is working on his English and will only get better as a fighter. He will be huge international star and soon. He won me over.
Needs better conditioning, looked tired from 6th on. Defense/movement was way better than I thought it could be. He just beat his best opponent in what I thought was a fairly close, good fight. He is only going to get better and be a bigger attraction. I like him.
I go with Bradley. Had fight of the year to me with Ruslan and beat Marquez convincingly (to me). He should be p4p #2 and this is from a person that is not a fan of his style, but i do appreciate his attitude and will.
I have always liked Sergio think he is a cool guy, fights hard and with a lot of style but Golovkin is a beast of a different sort. He has incredible skill and punch placement, scary accuracy and punching technique. He stops Sergio in 7 or 8.
Anything Lara does Floyd does way better. Lara or no one else can outbox Floyd. No interest in this one, rather see Garcia got shot if he wants it. I would not rush to fight Floyd, it is a no hoper at this point for you to win. Thought Canelo was rushed and should have improved more.
Of that group I still think Pac but he no longer is even or pick em. Pac aged quicker than Floyd and would lose. Would be excitied to see it for the event but no longer think it is a close fight. Should have hapened 4 years ago.
Alvarado may be one of those self destructive personalities. Even how the Ruslan fight ended was strange, there are just people out there that can't deal with success or take hold of opportunity. Hope he doesn't begin a downward spiral
The most impressive thing to me is that these guys have come to the US from the other side of the world and are beating guys that are favored or in their hometown. Gradovich beat Dib with like 2 weeks notice, Kovalev chose to go to Wales to fight Cleverly, GGG fights guys in New York or AC, and Ruslan goes to high altitude in Denver and wrecks the home town guy. Good stuff.
Agree with that. The left was what killed Alvarado. Ruslan would get close, lean than pivot and throw it. Look at Alvarado's eye for the proof. Ruslan really was impressive and more measured in this fight than against Bradley. Broner would have trouble if he stood there with Ruslan. Its like Roy said, Ruslan hurt Bradley, a guy that is strong and tough as hell. He can hurt anyone, Broner would have to move and we dont know if he can do it for 12 rounds against a naturally big and strong guy.
Looking at the gif of Garcia knocking out Khan is crazy. Same punch he wrecked Lucas' eye with. Not a lucky punch at all, give Garcia his props he is good, and would beat Khan again.
I give credit to the guy that is busier and lands more. Chavez never knocked him down but had him wobble a couple times. If Chavez's punches were so strong why was Vera pushing him around at the end? Thought Vera earned it.
I think Bradley wins this fight. Long term he needs an exit plan, he is to brave for his own good. I still can't believe he survived verses Ruslan, he took a scary beating.
Never was a fan of Kellerman, find him annoying and Lampley is just too over the top. Like Roy but he can be biased. I actually like Ward the best of their announcers. Showtime is good, Al and Paulie are exdellent but Mauro is not my cup of tea.
I assumed he was asian, did not know he was part Korean, but GGG does not look Russian to me. I always think of someone like Kovalev or Povetkin. Sort of like Provodnikov, who would think his pop was a Russian. Just a huge country and mix up of people when it was the USSR, pretty cool.
I agree. He punches hard but if you watch he shows skill and is patient in setting up his offense. Will be interesting to see him adjust or not when he faces someone more threatening. Love his attitude and seems to be willing to fight anyone. How can you dislike this guy?
Not yet. He now has the funds to get better strength and conditioning training, nutritional advice and focus on boxing 100 percent as his business. If he stays dedicated and doesn't fall into the fast life style he is going to be even better.
Agree. That is just a way to discount Matthysee and peg him as a head hunting brawler. Matthysee has more skill and a great chin. Maidana is always exciting and fun to watch but Matthysee is clearly better.
Like Matthyse a lot, hope he wins but have a feeling Peterson is taking it. He is just a tough, relentless guy that will outlast Matthyse in my opinion.
