Floyd is far from the unbeatable GOAT his g@y fanboys would have you believe but he would at least be competitive with any fighter in history between 135-147. Apart from 'the motor city cobra'. An ATG jab, the reach advantage, and ATG power is just a combination floyd would not be able to overcome. You could put jr, sr, roger and jeff in the ring at the same time and my money would still be on 'the hitman'.

nah hearns was too physically gifted. only way hearns would lose is if he didnt fight his size, which wasnt his nature. I could see mayweather rocking hearns a few times, but ultimately a one sided win for hearns.

I don't think so and I don't think he would have beaten prime Oscar or prime Mosley either. I also think prime Paul Williams and Margarito give him fits as well. Just my opinion.

Yes he can, Floyd is better inside and thus has a place where he can work he also has great defense and is good at controlling range so him being able to stay out of Hearns wheel house is a real possibility. It is a very tough fight and I understand saying Floyd wouldn't win but all you guys are doing is being wowed by the physicality of Hearns, he can be out thought heck that is why he lost most of his big fights and Floyd is a great thinker in the ring so if he can put Hearns at a disadvantage I don't think Hearns can overcome that. Hearns didn't run through Benitez, if Floyd is able to do a better job than Benitez Floyd can win that fight. I personally think Leonard is a tougher fight than Hearns because Leonard has more options at his disposal that could match Floyd. Hearns is still a very difficult fight but it is winnable.

Because of the length and power of Hearns this would be a really tough fight fight for Mayweather to win. However Hearns would never be able to walk through Floyd or any other fighter in history. I know Floyd attitude rubs people the wrong way but disrepect his talent. People are forgetting one of his best weapons is being able to make adjustments.

Nope. Too tall, long, aggressive and powerful. Always liked Hearns and he wins it. Floyd is the best in this era, a weak one comparatively speaking.

I think the problem would be getting close enough to Hearns to throw those counters. I think Hearns at WW is the only dead cert to beat Floyd.

I don't think so, Tommy's got all the cards in this fight, I don't think he'd stop Mayweather as he'd have difficulty landing flush like in the Benitez fight. Floyds could have some success if he sat down more on his punches and threw in combinations, not saying floyd would stop or hurt him but Tommy had very bad balance. But sitting down and punching isn't Floyds game anymore so I dunno if he'd take the risk. I'd give it 80-20 to the motor city cobraHearns was not as fast at 154 and Benitez had a solid chin. At 147, Hearns was a machine gun. Floyd has no inside game over the length of a fight and on the outside, he gets nailed by that jab.

No. First off, Hearns had lightning speed, a rapid jab and a huge right hand. Floyd would be hit with the jab which would keep him at bay. And Floyd has no inside fight in the middle of the ring so even if he could somehow manage to get past the jab which he would not, he is not a consistent infighter and would be ineffective and he does not have the power to change things. And there is no way a guy who was rocked by Corley and Mosley stands up after a right hand for FIFTEEN ROUNDS that has knocked fighters dead from 147 to 160. This is a 100% bad style matchup for Floyd which no approach would work. He does not have the power on the inside or the ability to fight consistently on the inside and if anyone thinks he would have a chance with Hearn's range on the outside, cancel your boxingscene account immediately, this site is not for you.
