All I can say is you impress easily. HBO did a great job of talking him up but i saw nothing special. His claim to fame is one shot power and I saw him need 8 rounds of one shots.
If two guys want to meet at a weight and fight, fine. If I am the 160 champ and I have to put my belt on the line but cant weigh 160, that's BS. If the next title level guys are too big for you then stay where you belong.
I don't think it's real hate it's just the natural reaction to HBO force feeding us another next great thing. I always tell people if the HBO guys are really high on a fighter you better watch out. There's surely a gimmick. All of the shit Max spewed after the fight didn't help. Let the fans and the records decide whos next not MAXi pad.
if the NASC is so ineffective then how did vargas and mayorga get caught? also rjj and his opponent got caught using roids. so did jame toney.
Did they catch Shane Mosley? Everybody knows the cheats are always a step ahead of the testers. I'd bet more than a few cheaters have never been caught.
What are you talking about? Holmes and Joppy didn't drop off the radar because they didn't win their tournaments, they eventually dropped off the radar because they were getting older and/or their skills deteriorated. Joppy had fights with Hopkins, Taylor, and Bute after he lost to Tito in the tournament, and he lost all of them.
To say Joppy was better than most of the guys in this tournament is a joke.
Thank you for setting him straight on that. That was already near the end for both Holmes and Joppy as far as being championship level fighters and I don't think Keith Holmes at his best was better than anybody in the tourney. He was like a middleweight john ruiz with all that hugging and holding.
watch this guy turn around while gettin hit by Pac's 6 punch combos and waive his arm saying "no more" somehere in the 9th round.
Just one of those bold predictions.
Be careful with that "no mas" talk around here. According to some people on here there was no "no mas." It never happened. Viva La No Mas!
like floyd wants to fight mosley after almost getting beat by oscar.. i gurantee he will never fight again unless its oscar and alot of money
#1... almost is for bitches. Either you did it or you didn't. #2 When did Oscar "almost" beat PBF? I know we didn't watch the same fight on the 5th.
You know why you have that right? I bet you do. The americans fighting for you to have that right. I know people disagree with the war and blah blah blah but to be out right disrespectful about soldiers is crazy. You many not agree but don't be disrespectful toward the people that gave you the right to talk shit on this forum.
Are you retarded? He's a veteran nobody gave him shit, he EARNED the right to his opinion. And even if you aren't a veteran, HUMANS have a right to voice their opinion. Disagreeing is not disrespecting and being quiet about something that you know is wrong is cowardly.
You call a close fight an ass beating. Jones only won by like 2 rounds. Thats not an ass beating. An ass beating is a one-sided match like forrest-baldomir, calzaghe-lacy and Kessler-andrade.
Roy beat him with one hand. That's an ass beating.
Every time I see the Hagler Hearns fight I think "god damn, Hagler was a lion. When is the last time anyone in the MW division came into a fight with another champion and demolished him the way Hagler took out Hearns?
Have you ever seen BHop, Wnky, Taylor, or anyone of there peers come out with all guns blazing like that?
How about Tito vs Hopkins? Before that fight many people had Tito at the top of their p4p list and that fight turned out to be nothing but pure domination. I know it wasn't as short as hagler hearns but Bhop destroyed an all time champ I thought.
and see everyone wants to question how great floyd is. And comments like these show y he is not great. Mosley is the best fight mayweather can make rite now. The money well be great the fight will have great hype but for some reason floyd does not want to fight this man. He'll rather fight Hatton and make a low 5 million than fight mosley which would guarantee him at least 10 million. I question this guy Floyd is he scared?????????
Since when is a Mosley fight bigger than Hatton? I'm not big on Hatton but his fans travel and ANY venue will be sold out for that fight. No way the Mosley fight makes bigger money. Stop making shit up because you don't like Floyd. If he was going after Shane all the noise on here would be about him ducking Hatton. He's the best right now just get over it. I believe Shane had a chance, right?
and yeah people complain about Hatton's clinching because he is not american
No. People complain because it sucks. I personally don't give hopkins or anyone else who does it a pass. I didn't even buy the ppv because what else do you expect from Hopkins. The most real fighting I saw him do was against Tito and that was because Tito was far over matched.
Floyd only went to 154 to fight Oscar. He wasn't going to stay at 154. He doesn't belong there. Floyd has yet to make a decision on who he will fight or if he'll REALLY fight again. You can't say he will not face a real Welterweight when he has yet to make a decision.
Fuck Mosley he missed his chance.
Plain and simple for the slow folks.
What about the fights Floyd won with his hand broken which I know he did on multiple occasions. I call that suckin' it up big time and didn't Duran quit? There will never be a quitter on any top list of mine.
It's unbelievable. People wonder why boxing isn't mainstream and then you get this crap. I thought the $50 that HBO charged for De La Hoya or Barrera to fight some noboday was untolerable but at least in them fights at least 1 of the fighters were good. This would be like charging $50 to watch the KC Royals play the Washington Nationals in baseball.
The only channel that this fight should be on is PBS.
You couldn't be more correct. I saw a lot of good fighters and fights on ABC's Wide World of Sports for free back in the day. Now everything is pay per view and that turns people off. Greed is the number one thing turning people off to boxing. It's not even the bad decisions or "corruption" like a lot of people say because controversy sells. People just don't want to get robbed. And leave my Nats alone. LOL
maybe u guyz didnt watch boxing back the but chavez fought the best of his era maybe they dont sound like names to u.....i bet half the pinoys here didnt start watching box til pac
I knew one would come sooner or later. LOL
It was Dana who offered up Sherk-Mayweather matchup. This was IN RESPONSE to Floyd's disrespectful comments about UFC fighters. Floyd has actually admitted his own error in making the comments.
As for the Tito-Dana fight, it was Tito who did not show up. Dana showed up for the weigh in, Tito did not and said he would not fight Dana. Oh, and this fight was going to be under boxing rules, not mma. I THINK Dana has boxed as an amateur. I know he has trained in boxing for sure.
If you go on the Floyd stuff you're already wrong. This all was brewing well before the Floyd stuff and again Dana was the starter. I was listening to ESPN radio this morning and who had giving his opinion on the De la Hoya PPV and whats the next big fight and the crowd wasn't buzzing? Good ole Dana. He thinks stepping on boxing will boost his product. He's a dick. If his product is so superior maybe he should pay his guys accordingly.
this is hilarious, all these boxing commentators, writers, and fighters acutally acknowledging the UFC and MMA when the UFC hardly ever mentions boxing.
that should tell you who's winning right there:owned:
Just say no my friend! This whole thread is about a boxer accepting a challenge that DANA WHITE PROPOSED! Tell me again about UFC never mentioning boxing. This whole beef has started because of UFC pretty much telling anyone who will listen that they are taking over and boxing is dead.
The punch that hurt khan was to the neck not chin and after he
was already hurt khan took some bombs and stayed up.
I like Danny a lot good kid good fighter but I'm already tired of
His dad. Way too much mouth.
Not that I disagree with what he says but what the hell has it got to do with Sulaiman?
I feel the exact same way. I wasn't happy that bhop said it and I wish he hadn't but it seems like Don Jose has an opinion about everything lately.
50/50, 147, $15 million bonus to the winner. If either one of them cries about that, I don't believe they want the fight.
Can't argue with that at all.
