Floyd Mayweather offered a possible taste of things to come during the Oscar DeLaHoya press conference announcing "After this, I'll kick Mosley's *** too."
The temperature rose after the conference, during the one on one lunch time. Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley in each others face, throwing insults at one another, but a final blow by each had them separated as Floyd left the building
"When I want to negotiate a fight with you, I'll be sure to contact your boss", remarked Floyd as he pointed at Shane's wife, Jin Mosley.
Mosley returned fire: "I get a piece of your paycheck for this fight, so that means I'm your boss. IM YOUR BOSS!"
What exactly is Mosley going to do to beat Floyd? I'm not saying he's a bad fighter, but he has absolutely NOTHING on Floyd except a SLIGHT power advantage. He will having trouble winning 2 or 3 rounds. Am I wrong about his jab, defense or stiff movement? I'm not saying Floyd dominates the rounds, but he wins damn near every round and wins the fight by a wide UD.
yes he got more power, as much speed than floyd (handspeed, beharps not footspeed), and he has more willing too fight, and don't run so much. i don't say mosley will win, but he will give floyd ae hard time
Mayweather is in for a severe beating at the hands of DeLaHoya, in fact Oscar will take him out late in the fight round 10 or 11. Although we won't get another Mosley vs DeLaHoya matchup, we may indeed get a Mosley vs Mayweather fight.
Oh, by the way, Mosley really did own Mayweather, he is right, he is Mayweathers boss! lol
Mosley would have to find a way to really use his physical strength to use. He's a more powerful, physically strong guy than Floyd.
Mosley would also have a find to way to avoid the discouragement he had against Winky and Forrest, and have to be able to adjust. Because if he has success against Mayweather, Floyd will adjust, and Mosley may have to re-adjust.good points. i just don't think shane can re-adjust against floyd because floyd won't let him. he's too smart for that. but, anyway, it really doesn't matter too much either way, because shane would have to really sell out to try to defeat floyd mayweather, and once he sells out, floyd tags the hell out of him. shane is a great fighter when it comes to being wild and punching crazy at times, but he isn't a good pressure fighter imo, and imo he would try too hard to knock floyd out once he realizes that taking his time and timing his punches against floyd won't work, because of floyd's quicker upperbody and great footwork and speed in a defensive manner. shane would have to fight every second of the fight smart to even have a chance against floyd. floyd is too smart of a fighter for shane.

I really don't see how you guys think Mosley could even compete with Floyd. His best asset is his speed and Floyd is faster. He's stiff, has marginal defense, and doesn't have a strong jab. Oscar has a MUCH better chance of beating Floyd than Shane does. Mosley is like a worn down version of Floyd at this point, with a little more power. Another thing I just don't get is why some people seem to think that combinations are the way to beat Floyd. When has the man EVER been hit with a good, clean combination? The best chance of beating Floyd comes with a good-timed left hook when he's leaning in to throw the lead right. Oscar can do that, Mosley cannot.
agreed.
mosley did snap floyd with the boss call.
one thing is obvious this isnt floyds last fight
OK, now you are getting ridiculous. end of discussion.

I have thought for quite some time, that Mosely might have the right style to beat Mayweather... He is fast,(maybe not laser fast like Floyd) but in the ballpark so to speak. His strength, combination punching and power make him a real player for Floyd. I think he could muscle Floyd around enough, and his chin is strong to deal with whatever Floyd is throwing. And he can crack hard enough to get Floyd`s respect, and you know he`ll dig down to that body. If I have one concern regarding Oscar`s chances with Floyd. It`s Oscar`s ability to deal with real speed. Mosely gave Oscar lots of problems by using quick combintions, and lateral movement. In Oscar`s favor, he is a great combintion puncher, and he usually knows when to pull the trigger(good timing) Floyd can fight, but I am really getting tired of his arrogance, and his lack of respect for other fighters...
If mayweather wins it will sell out.
Depends on how he wins. If he jogs his way to a justified but uninspiring UD then I don't think it will sell. If he gets up off the floor to beat Oscar by stoppage then it might.
mosely is a a plus fighter imo he fights anyone kinda like the old school fighters those loses are nothing no shame in losing to winky and forrest they were too jnr middles in there prime i know the forrest fight was at welter but he is really a jnr middle imo shanes best weight is welter he will be a hall of famer imo
you know what you are prob right but the whole fight it-self, ppv's, live gate and both fighter's paycheck won't be even close to what dlh is making on may 5th.....and mosley vs mayweather it wont' sell-out
If mayweather wins it will sell out. Moselys last fight didn't sell because he was fighting a guy who isn't to well known to people out side of boxing.
If mayweather beats the golden boy, staple center will sell out. People who want the second best fighter to come out of california (mosely) to beat the man who beat oscar, they will fill up that stadium.

Floyd mayweather is going to become an ATG, mosley wont. He's just rubbing it in his face. By the way, mosley's wife once said that she knows who can beat mosley and she wont allow them to fight him. So even if mosley wants to fight him, the question is if Jin will let him. That is embarassing, mosley conquers de la hoya and now he is one of his puppets, wtf?
For all of those thinking Mayweather was serious about his retirement pay attention to this little scuffle. Floyd started it by saying he was going to go after Mosley next. What, when he's on a beach in Tahiti? No. Floyd is already setting up his next opponent. He wouldn't start shit with Mosley if he didn't want to fight him. It's hard to keep an old fighter like Hopkins out of the ring. What is the chance we can stop a young, prime boxer like Mayweather from fighting?
Floyd doesn't stand a chance against Mosley in the ring, or on the street.
