@ thread maker, do you still remember Khan avoiding Devon Alexander last year because he thought the Mayweather fight was in the bag just like Bradley did to him before Pacquiao? Against a guy who Bradley bullied in the ring in Alexander! Pot calling the kettle black! LOL.
It looks great now. Try looking at it from the perspective when the fight was just finalized. At that time there were no 24 rounds nor Marquez schooling. At that time it was just him ducking Khan and it paying off in the shape of a $5 million payday. Oh and an Abregu win at WW to justify it as well.
Again Bradley is an elite fighter, but at the time it didn't look pretty.
Just like countless others have. Ricky Hatton, he got a gift decision vs Collazo and fought Floyd, Marquez fought Juan Diaz 2 weightclasses below before fighting Mayweather, Brandon Rios has just fought Manny after fighting Alvarado at 140. Next in line will most likely be Danny Swift Garcia for Floyd.
Tim Bradley is a top contender whatever way you want to look at it, undefeated unified multi time 140lb'er, went 24 rounds with Pacquiao without coming close to touching the canvas and schooled Marquez pretty convincingly after he beat Pacquiao.
P.S - What about Amir Khan who avoided Devon Alexander like the plauge in 2013 because he thought he had the May 2014 Floyd Mayweather fight in the bag when at last minute Floyd picked Maidana.
That was after the Pacquiao fight. Read the thread man. I'm saying what did he do to get it the first time?
What i tried to say is Bradley has proven his worth going 24 rounds with Manny and schooled Marquez. The proof is in the pudding Bradley is a top welterweight contender wether you like it or not......
Rubio was infamously Amir Khan's trainer in the Breidis Prescott 54 second slaughter and was made the scapegoat and quickly fired straight after. Rubio was the guy who gave the green light to Frank Warren and Amir Khan to fight Prescott.
I still dont get how losing the purse bid sets Eubank free of his contract with Hearn.
He had a get out clause it happens it was only for 1 fight so it's nothing. The Eubanks are pain in the arses to deal with so probably had all kinds of clauses where you can rip the contract up if a guarantee is not delivered. George Groves did a similar thing with Frank Warren were if he was not paid a up front fee for a fight he could rip up the contract and he did when he was matched up with that italian european champion.
Can't hate on him. How he managed to squeeze out 2 Mayweather fights was very smart. Did not take that much punishment and made a few mill. He's had some brutal wars so wish him the best.
We have to remember that Floyd does not rehydrate much over if anything over 150lb's on fight night. Marco Antonio Rubio rehydrated to 181lb's and still got manhandled in 2 rounds by GGG.
Just watched the whole Bad Blood card on Boxnation and my opinion - Don't be silly! You can easily score the first 5 rounds for Saunders and then pick out 2 mid to late rounds which 2 of the cards were 115 - 113 and 115 - 114 Saunders. No corruption here.
I was more pissed off that Eubank Snr was blocking 2 experienced cornermen in Chris Sanigar and Ronnie Davis and not allowing them to give Jr advice for the majority of the fight once Ronnie started talking Chris got himself back in the fight. In one of the early rounds that he lost Eubank snr literally just told Eubank jr to breath deep and that was it.
Lewis vs Holyfield was pretty bad as in the second fight it was way more competitive with the scores being wider to Lewis then the draw given in the first fight in which Holyfield got taken to school. Holyfield looked like a zombie in the first fight and took alot of punches, but in the second fight he had a lot of energy and landed some decent shots on Lewis in a close competitive fight.
I had De La Hoya beating Trinidad but what was he thinking giving away the championship rounds running on his bike doing nothing against a Don King fighter as seen in the Lewis vs Holyfield draw which Lewis dominated completely and still did not get the decision . Stupid tactics.
Devon Alexander vs Andreas Kotelnik in ST Louis was a suspect hometown decision in which all 3 judges had that 8 - 4 for Alexander.
I know Mayweather got the decision over Canelo but that 114 - 114 was up there as one of the worst official scorecards ever as you could easily argue that Canelo did not win a round in that fight.
To me he looks like a mini Miguel Vazquez without that constant hugging that is unbearable in his fights. Nice footwork , movement and combo's and he is not in a rush to go for a stoppage.
We are reaching and grasping at straws here with this GGG vs Margarito comparison. Look at Margarito's record he has never, let me say that again NEVER beaten a in prime top level fighter at 154, so why are we even bothering about GGG or 160? If a old Sugar Shane Mosley with no stamina could barely get hit and then land the kitchen sink on Margarito at 147 then what is GGG going to do at 160? And look at his face vs Manny he looked like he was Chinese and no one would have complained if that was stopped, even Manny was begging for the ref to stop it.
That's like going onto a cookery forum and posting a video of Nadal with the title being 'Show me a better serve'.
"peeleft:
I agree it's a load of bull**** comparing. It is 2 different disciplines. Muay Thai fighters can use their hands, knee's and feet. MMA use 4 ounce gloves deliberately for more action and can also use their feet and knee's.
I like adam booth he's alright, he was just hard to read at first, he's just a businessman and he's a genuine trainer, gallaghers just a conman.
I bet you have never met Joe Gallagher once in person talking like you know what he is doing 7 days a week. If he was really a conman then i don't think Amir Khan would let him train all of his fighters at his gym where he is based currently . Not every trainer is gifted like Eddie Futch, Emmanuel Steward or a Cus D'amato . Like Meek Mill said there is levels to this s.h.i.t.
No charges were made so no charges were dropped. You don't seem to know much about what you're talking about.
I don't rate Joe Gallagher either. You just seem to have some weird obsession with him like that other guy who has an obsession with the Lonsdale Belt. Some odd people on this site.
lol i chuckle at that Mick Higgs guy aswell acting like the British title is some holy grail talking about it in every British thread. When it is a stepping stone title equivalent to a NABO or NABF title in America. This knockout kid guy has jumped from Adam Booth over to Joe Gallagher. He was doing the same thing with Adam Booth making random conspiracy theories up. What a load of horse**** he is talking ironically Abril pulled out of fighting Derry Mathews so he must be **** scared and must of made a mosquito inject him with Dengue fever as Mathews is a murderer with a hannibal mask on. (Sarcasm) Abril is a world class fighter , but lets not get carried away. He is not a Golovkin or a Kovalev. He is a chess match counterpuncher.
As a fan it's starting to get embarrassing the amount of punishment he has taken some time or later his body (looks like it is already happening) is starting to break down his reflexes are not existent and takes the full force of the shots and has turned into a slow arm punch plodder. At least he got a decent purse of $500,000 to fight De La Rosa if he was to end up leaving. Watching De La Rosa in the past he is nothing special i have seen him get dropped 3 times and lose a decision by a journeyman so i was frustrated that Angulo could not.
Interesting card Warren has got but I think Henessy promotes Eubank.jr i think
Eubank promotes himself under Chris Eubank Promotions and has a television deal with Boxnation. He left Mick Hennessey last year.
Trout is definitely looking vulnerable as of late in the chin department. Hitting the deck 4 times heavily in his last 3 fights and twice in his last fight against a so called no hoper while Cotto has looked rejuvenated under Freddie Roach and has seemed to have got his power and movement back.
Flanagan is not a legit Champ.
Not his fault, but he owes a re-match to Zepeda first.
It's one of those situations where nobody is to blame, but Flanagan needs to do the 'right thing'.
Which, in reality means he will do exactly the opposite.
Thats true but lets remember that nobody in the UK gave Flanagan no favors coming up and was avoided. Zepeda is going to have to sit out a while with recovery and physio work and will have 1 or 2 warm ups before he even challenges a top 10 fighter because if that shoulder pops out again with a immediate rematch his career is in ruins.
Ive been waiting for quigg to fight a live dog, for about 5 years, ive seen all his fights since he was with hatton and never been impressed, he's too stiff, but thinks thats a good thing. crolla's a skinny guy and shouldnt be in with big punchers like perez.
Well he did knock rendall munroe out cold didn't he who beat Martinez twice.
The only boring snorefest Khan fight i can recall was the Paul McCloskey fight where Paul was tucked up in a shell while Khan was throwing hundreds of punches so that was not his fault the guy did not want to engage.
