TERRY FLANAGAN insists becoming world champ will not change him - and he won't even upgrade his Volkswagen Polo.
'Turbo' clinched the vacant WBO lightweight title in Manchester on Saturday after his opponent Jose Zepeda dislocated his shoulder in the second round.
Flanagan could not care less about winning the belt on a bizarre technical decision and says the feeling was just as sweet as he hoped.

The WBA's idea of matching the winner with Derry Mathews does appear to be a be odd. Should it not be Richer Abril?
that guy apparently just doesn't feel like fighting any more
in lieu of zepeda, flanagan should be forced to face the next mandatory in line to legitimise his belt. i think that means diego magdaleno
Flanagan is not a legit Champ.
Not his fault, but he owes a re-match to Zepeda first.
It's one of those situations where nobody is to blame, but Flanagan needs to do the 'right thing'.
Which, in reality means he will do exactly the opposite.
Thats true but lets remember that nobody in the UK gave Flanagan no favors coming up and was avoided. Zepeda is going to have to sit out a while with recovery and physio work and will have 1 or 2 warm ups before he even challenges a top 10 fighter because if that shoulder pops out again with a immediate rematch his career is in ruins.

I thought the WBA ordered the winner of Perez/Crolla to fight Derry Mathews next.
Yes i thought so too. Mitchell and Flanagan seem to be hoping for the Crolla fight..but as far as i'm aware the winner of Crolla's fight will have to face Matthews.
