At 140lbs he shamelessly ducked Amir Khan. Then the fact he had a previous win at WW over Carlos Abregu apparently warranted a Pacquiao showdown. Khan just beat Luis Collazo who even at this stage is a better win than a no name contender in Abregu.
Collazo > Abregu.....even today.
Don't bring up "oh he went 24 rounds doe, he schooled Marquez doe". That was after getting the 1st fight. Im specifically asking what did he do the 1st time to get Pacquiao?
So?
That is precisely the point of this thread. I think I should have worded the thread title different.
Funny, but goes to show how desperate you are to make a point, because at WW Bradley hasn't done a thing besides Abregu. Now his fans have to go take his resume out from 140lbs.
btw A man who gets up after being knocked down is not someone who is scared otherwise he would've stayed down. Your logic is flawed. Maybe if you had boxed in real life you'd know.
Maybe the thread should've been worded differently, you're right.
That last post of mine wasn't intended to further my argument, I was just trying to mess with you. :)
You're trying to state that the only thing that Bradley had done at WW was beat Abregu, and it has been noted. It's on record, we've taken that into account. All he had at WW (147 to be exact) was a UD win over Abregu and a stoppage over Casamayor, but his accomplishments at 140 allowed him to get the Pacquiao fight...which, in turn, answers the thread title question.
And again, I was only joking around in my last post. I wasn't trying to make a point or imply you're scared. It was a nonsensical satirical post involving the HBO crew.
Again with the post Pacquiao 1 facts. What did he do before that? Yes beat Abregu and duck Khan.
Good for him, but the whole point of the thread was Khan does deserve Pacquiao right after Collazo if Bradley did after Abregu.
Umm, bradley was P4P before PAC.
Me personally, I don't really care if khan gets the PAC fight. I'd like to see it. But bradley has done quite a bit more than khan and is more deserving of any fight out their than khan is IMO.

Pac should fight for the 140 title , Peterson or Provo next as a saturday night special on FOX (Not every fight need to be on pay per views)
Forgetting that Bradley been on the P4P top 10 for the last 4 years now , Has Khan hit top 10 yet?

The Luis Carlos Abregu fight did not get him the Pacquiao fight. Had it been closer to the Pacquiao fight, then you could say that. Bradley fought Abregu way before there were talks of him switching to Top Rank (and Bob Arum saying that he'd give him a shot at Pacquiao for signing). I am almost positive when the Pac-Bradley fight was signed, people weren't thinking, "Gee, I think Tim deserves that fight because he beat Luis Carlos Abregu." Abregu didn't get Tim the Pacquiao fight, it's a bunch of other factors (whether you include Abregu or not):
A-) Undefeated
B-) Two time unified champion
C-) Beat an undefeated Lamont Peterson
D-) Beat undefeated champion Devon Alexander
E-) Signed with Top Rank
F-) All of the above
I get what you're saying, most of his wins were at 140, but he got the shot anyway.
What's exactly your angle on Khan? Are you trying to use Tim as a parallel to point out that Khan is worthy of a fight with Pacquiao (despite having only one win over a WW?) Cause if you are, then yeah...I don't have a problem with that. He needs to jump on it now, though before he's on the bad end of an upset.
That is precisely the point of this thread. I think I should have worded the thread title different.
Jim Lampley: "It's over! It's all over! Soul survivor drops Box Office with a big right hand! The count's up to 5, but I don't think he has the legs to get up!"
Larry Merchant: "Referee Kenny Bayless taking a close look at Box Office but his eyes are glazed; a look of fear and hopelessness on the face of the man who has stood up at the count of 9...there is no glimmer of hope here, just...impending doom...and pointless slaughtering."
Lampley: "Bayless allows the fight to continue and--another big right hand RRRROOOCKS the dazed fighter!"
Max Kellerman: "The booty dew, Jim! That's the booty dew! And he just booty-dew'd out of the ring and onto one of the judges' table."
Emanuel Steward: "This went EXACTLY as I predicted."

at 147, not much, you're damn right but at 140 Bradley showed he was the best or one of the best, unifying against DA, beating the likes of Witter, Holt, Peterson etc. He was the leading guy at 140, and as it so often happens, the best in one division fights the best in the other.
You can ask, what did Duran do to warrant a SRL fight?
What did SRL do to warrant a Hagler bout?
What did Foster do to warrant a shot at the HW title?
My point is Khan deserves a Pacquiao fight for those who say otherwise just look at Bradley.

I think his point is to try and say Bradley landed a fight without doing much at WW,so why can't Khan..Yet he never looks at Khans resume, once you factor that in it's very easy to see why he's not got a shot at any of the big dogz of the sport..
Yet if he can land a Mayweather or Pac fight right now,he should go for it..Does he deserve it??Based off of resume at this point I'd say no,but if he can land anyone of these fights..He should totally go for it,I said when he was going to fight Alexander and there was talk's for the Mayweather fight he should take it..He'd be a fool not to..Yet even more so at that point he did not deserve the shot..Yet hey neither did Ortiz tbh..
Guzman never got a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight, but talk about a strawman.
Again another person using Tim's 140 run as an argument. Talk about WW where Manny was the champ and consistently fighting at. When I bring up Bradley being rewarded for ducking Khan people say "oh he at least had one win at WW". That's when I bring up Abregu and it goes back to "all his accomplishments at 140".
I agree he is an elite level fighter, but the thread isn't exactly about Tim's spirit as a fighter. The duck part wasn't the emphasis, but how Abregu gets you Pac, but funny how Khan needs to do more.
They may be ignorant, but respectfully asking how does this part match the thread topic?
It didn't happen and no Bradley is not the punk, but it was a duck nonetheless like Khan with Alexander.
Provo and Marquez happened after and I am asking what did Bradley do to deserve Pacquiao fight the first time at WW?
Also with the $ logic Stevenson not fighting Kovalev was a good thing, which it wasn't.
Again it isn't about Bradley being a punk, but the fact if Khan gets Pacquiao it makes perfect sense as Bradley got it with Abregu. Khan has achieved quite a bit himself at 140 so how come he doesn't get Floyd based on that? That is because he had no wins at WW before and Collazo is a step in that direction, but if we are talking about Pacquiao-Khan then it does given how Bradley got his shot.

Nope he chose to fight a shot to shit Joel Casamayor at WW
He could had fought Khan, and then move to Top Rank. He'll Khan even, gave up somebody to try and get him in the ring, and he ran like a coward.
Good post.
It's just nonsense from some of these so called fans who let their moronic bias get in the way of sounding normal.
Nobody with any clue about what they're saying thinks that the Abregu win got Bradley the Pacquiao fight. Some people might say that, but they're just wrong.
just be thankful Bradley chose a bigger payday instead of beating Khan's ass

You bring this up as if to downplay Tim yet you have Joan Guzman in your signature? Talk about untapped potential
Guzman never got a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight, but talk about a strawman.
It wasn't the Abregu fight that got Tim a shot at Pac, it was his accomplishments.
Unified by taking Witter on when he was still a big threat (in Witter's hometown!), beat Edner Cherry easily, received a "BAD-ASS" seal of approval when he got up in the first round from a monster left hook from Kendall Holt, went through Lamot Peterson/Luis Abregu/Devon Alexander back to back when they were all undefeated (two of which were highly heralded contenders), and unified again when he beat Alexander...all of them EASILY.
Again another person using Tim's 140 run as an argument. Talk about WW where Manny was the champ and consistently fighting at. There is a reason why Tim Bradley is the only fighter besides Cotto I always root for. The man doesn't have a rap sheet, is always in phenomenal shape, can't punch but goes toe to toe anyway, has shown great heart in every fight...what more could you truly ask for?
I agree he is an elite level fighter, but the thread isn't exactly about Tim's spirit as a fighter. The duck part wasn't the emphasis, but how Abregu gets you Pac, but funny how Khan needs to do more.
I truly did feel sorry when the public scorned him and only knew him as "the guy that robbed Pacquiao"...without them knowing his long list of accomplishments. It goes to show you how ignorant the casual "boxing fan" is.
They may be ignorant, but respectfully asking how does this part match the thread topic?
And someone please correct me of I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the only reason Tim took on Abregu was because Marcos Maidana pulled out of his fight with Bradley (yes, the fight had been announced and was official). I distinctly remember it being on HBO's fight schedule. Tim Bradley is not a punk. That guy will take on anybody.
It didn't happen and no Bradley is not the punk, but it was a duck nonetheless like Khan with Alexander.
And before anybody barges in here with Khan...yes, that's the only critique you can pin on Bradley. On the other hand, he made more money by going to Top Rank, got more exposure, beat Márquez, and his war with Provodnikov made him more fans...
Provo and Marquez happened after and I am asking what did Bradley do to deserve Pacquiao fight the first time at WW?

You will never be liked 100% by everyone. You make choices and you live with them. Had I been offered a fight with Pacquiao by signing with Top Rank and ditching my old promoter, I would've done the EXACT SAME THING.
