Is Angulo completely shot?

I was rooting for Angulo hard but damn. I went psychotic in those last 2 rounds barking and **** lmao. Sadly, he just doesn't have the resources to continue. He has always been slow which has affected his reflexes and attack through his career, but now he is drastically slower / less responsive.

Haha great post. Jail ruined him. I'm a canelo fan but this recent loss makes me realize that victory isn't even worth noting, not that I thought it was a great win to begin with. The Canelo fight played out the way I thought it would. I was more suprised by how many people gave Angulo a chance.

Can he turn it around or is this the end of the line for him? He's done and should retire because he takes way too much punishment. I always liked him but it's over at the elite level.

naw kirkland ruined him and then the jail time put the icing on the cake. hasnt been the same since. He looked like a corpse in his last two fights. He needs to take that money and retire in Mexico.

Angulo should honestly give BKB a try. I really don't think he's beating anyone relevant in a normal ring. He moves like he's underwater, has leaky defense and just soaks up the punishment like a sponge. Somebody is going to KHTFO soon. Haha great post. Jail ruined him. Unfortunately it seems he's done. I used to think he was just weight drained but in this case he has taken too much damage over the years. I used to think that too, that he was just cutting too much weight. But he was at 162 for this weigh-in. He should have been comfortable.

he hasn't been the same since his fight with lara. the moment he quit against lara was the moment he quit being a tough fight for anyone. He didn't "quit". Did you see the guys eye?

Angulo needs to take his earnings and invest in a Taco stand or something

He has lost three fights in a row and has looked shot in his last two. He's done as a contender/relevant fighter in my opinion. Golden Boy may use him a few more times as a stepping stone for young prospects.

As a fan it's starting to get embarrassing the amount of punishment he has taken some time or later his body (looks like it is already happening) is starting to break down his reflexes are not existent and takes the full force of the shots and has turned into a slow arm punch plodder. At least he got a decent purse of $500,000 to fight De La Rosa if he was to end up leaving. Watching De La Rosa in the past he is nothing special i have seen him get dropped 3 times and lose a decision by a journeyman so i was frustrated that Angulo could not.

His style of fighting was to always walk thru the punches, including in his sparring. That along with the beatings he's taken against Kirkland, Lara, and Alvarez his punch resistance has likely dropped. And coming back from his imprisonment, he was never able to reach that same level. Maybe you can blame part of that on Virgil Hill as well? He was being taken the distance at JMW against the Argentine journeyman, it looked on the downside.

Completely shot. Even when he had his opponent hurt finally, he was completely incapable of finishing him. His punches haven't even looked like they hurt in his last two fights. Angulo's never been that good, but he at least could punch.
