shanes only chance is to let it all go in the first 4/5 rounds and just pour on massive pressure...we all know floyds game, but shane gotta avoid that at all cost and make this a short brutal war...money's on money though *sigh*
we know floyd was always gonna win, it was all about how good he was in doing it that was up for scrutiny. we all saw the holes in his D and he just didnt have that blinding speed where he could lead with the left hook and land at will.
154 and the 10oz gloves took just enough away to make him look mortal.
also the new trainer diaz made a big impactm for cotto.
Lets face it he's a cheater, he's tested positive for steroids and that leaves me to ponder on his great pound for pound career.
bro it doesnt matter what you think...roy has been one of the brightest lights in boxing and amazed us with his feats. please post up a highlight vid of your acheivements.
floyd probably wouldve beat marqez at 135 9 times outta 10...BUT the fact that he came in over and then mustve been so heavy he refused to weigh in on fight night suggests he had no intention of making the weight.
now thats some real chicken sh*t right there...it speaks volumes of how afraid the man is of losing and at that point i really DESPISED the guy.
great fight...good stopage kenny...unlike that a-hole laurence cole, katsidis fought with valor and it would have been nice if he couldve pulled it off for his brother. marqez really fought with class.
sugar ray was far superior in ring generalship and intelligence...thats the key to unlocking floyds much vaunted defence. i think floyds 'style' has become one dimensional and stale. it consists of backpedaling, potshotting and a few pet moves. srl had a much more dynamic and complete repertoire. he had mastery of both sides of the coin, defence and attack. sugar's speed and power are well documented but it was the intelligence with which he utilized these assets that would have shattered floyds self delusional invincibility.
mannys southpaw stance exposed oscar's hidden weakness...he doesnt think too good! it's been hinted at here and there most notably by freddie and bob arum but also from oscar's own mouth. mayorga post fight interview. he made reference to having trained 4 yrs with mayweather snr before it finally 'got through'.
to summerize then:
1. lil bit weight drained
2. manny was too quick
3. manny was too southpaw
4. oscar's cpu failed massively
mayweather lacks a quality that couldve made him a truly supreme and exciting fighter to watch...aggression. witness the baldomir fight where obviously he outclassed his opponent on all levels but never came out of his cocoon for the coup de grace.
mayweather couldve ko'd hatton much earlier but for his safety first no risk style.
roach had the plan, oscar for what ever reason, didnt roll with it. couldve been a case of ol dog new tricks...or oscar just plain stupid.
a mayweather fight will be the most technically difficult one for pacman/roach. how do you dismantle a counter puncher?...feign the attack and then counter the counter?...pbf has a few pet moves he employs going back, you'll spot the same ones over and over...obviously his speed is a factor but he has a limited repertoire. pbf wont come out so manny will have to go get him.
This is the fight I want to see, Tua is a horrible match-up for Areolla.
Did you see the way Tua literally smashed through Shane Cameron's Guard?
Did you see how Areolla fought Vitali? he just had his hands up and walked forward, same thing Cameron was doing, Tua would be smashing hard shots into Areollas gurning mug for a couple rounds. Areolla is fat and can take a bit of a beating but i say he hits the canvas for the 10 before the end of the fourth, for the end of his career.
Inferno whaaaat??##*** that sounded like a compliment for tua!... ok ok wheres the real inferno?
how about just saying tyson is one of the most influential boxers of all time?
certain people are always going like watching two guys beat the shit out of each other, and certain people are going to like to beat the shit out of each other for money...mike tyson or no mike tyson...
you may be bitter cause youre fat and stupid.
haye is tailor made for tua. haye does not possess the defensive capabilities to keep tua off him. this is tua's best chance to date of getting that belt cos the klits guard the other gates...but haye is absolutely do-able for tua. i bet tua's camp are g'd up now.
Give Marquez Fair Play??? You cats on this board never gave Mayweather Fair Play. From the day this fight was signed all you did was talked sh-t on him and reached for every excuse to discredit his taking this fight. I dont know what boxing universe you live in, but there is nothing unusual about a lightweight challenging a welterweight where I come from. It's called Boxing. If Marquez wants to spread his wings and take an ultimate challenge then who are any of you to deny it?? The fight is at welterweight and that's all to it. Catchweights are B.S. anyway. Like another poster stated, if he can't hang with the big boys then go back to the lil boys.
mayweather deserves nothing but scorn, he has a whole line up of legit ww's to choose from but instead opts for the path of least resistance. all his posturing and antics are so false and contradictory to his opponent selection. he would probably die from heart attack if he stepped in with the mosely that butchered margarito.
english !! the only language that matters :P

I literally wanted to knock him out. That's the dumbest thing about boxing I've ever heard. That's a big reason why he doesn't like him.
you need to kick your manager in the balls.
i never liked him as a fighter, he lacked that spark, intensity or something. he was well known for his indifference to the sport and i thought his tenure at wildcard was really out of left field...i'm glad he's gone from there....freddie needs someone with a passion for learning.
i always thought of george's technical analysis as witch doctor voodoo mumbo jumbo. he'd say $hit where i be like does he actually know that? or did he just make that up now.
sugar ray leonard might be the go.
