Yes he could have. Floyd doesn't fight like that though...he gets a feel for his opponents style and methodically picks them apart over the course of a fight. If he sees his opponent is ready to go he puts them out. If they don't look buzzed he sticks to his game plan.

floyd is a technician, he let hatton play into the crowd and, checkmate. it kinda looked like he had a hard time...but really check it out, he was so cool and relaxed, just calm under pressure, letting hatton get reckless, feeling him out...it was nothing really. most fighters wouldve buckled under the extreme pressure hatton was displaying and they did, but Floyd is a whole other level man.

mayweather lacks a quality that couldve made him a truly supreme and exciting fighter to watch...aggression. witness the baldomir fight where obviously he outclassed his opponent on all levels but never came out of his cocoon for the coup de grace. mayweather couldve ko'd hatton much earlier but for his safety first no risk style.

He takes the "Go slow and the KO will come" quite literally. I think he doesn't want the risk of being caught anything become to prevelant so he takes his time breaking someone down.

He may have carried him a little, but I don't think May could have KO'ed Hatton without the turnbuckle's help. Lmao at the turnbuckle comment even though you might have been serious lol good stuff but yeah I agree he may have carried him a little but thats just how floyd is he sits back and frustrates guys he doesn't sell out for an early KO its not his style. I think PBF could have taken him out earlier, but I wouldn't call it 'carrying' Hatton that he didn't. I call it risk aversion.

no he just hit hatton at the perfect time. hatton was lunging in forward and mayweather blasted his unprotected chin and he went into the ring post.

what does that have to do with hatton charging at the turnbuckle head first and getting ko'd by the turnbuckle instead of floyd? That's stupid. Hatton was well asleep when he collided. If anything the turnbuckle would have woke him up as already said. If you think Hatton was KOed by that impact go watch the fight.

Well Floyd finished it exactly as he intended you could watch him setting that up basically the whole fight. I guess if he really pressed the issue he could have done it sooner but he was playing a different game then that. It certainly wasn't tough though because he ended the fight as he intended never really looking in danger, can't call that a tough fight. Agreed, Mayweather was working on landing that check hook on the way in for most of the fight but Hatton would jump in too quick and it wouldn't land. Once Hatton slowed down it landed picture perfect. Hatton did land a good amount od solid shots though. Styles make fights though, he didn't take Hatton out in 2 rounds like Pacquiao but that's not his style.
