no he just lacks the power to put fighters away. except for bum hatton lol.
I dunno but I think Floyd could have ko'd JMM but intentionally didn't to justify his selection of a lightweight as his opponent. Remember the praises before and after the fight? And remember how he intentionally missed the weight?

Exactly floyd didnt even give it his all, he showed far too much respect to JMM. Yet he still looked spectacular.
Floyd was smirking all the time... talking about respect.
80% of what he threw conected so his offence is pretty good:D his defense is even better..killer instinct? I don't know I don't think he needs it realy hes alrite with the power hes got.
imho, his defense makes his offense possible and his style would be difficult for anybody...
It's not really that Mayweather lacks a killer instinct, if he senses that you're badly hurt he will go in for the kill but he needs to know that you're badly hurt before turning it on, if his opponents show the capability of fighting back then he backs off again, it's just his safety first mentality kicking in.
brod, mahirap sya masapol... tangna magaling ang kupal...
anyway, i just hope he would leave fighters in the lower weight classes alone & focus on WW division...

Yes. Floyd Maypecker lacked a killer instinct. Marquez should've been stopped. Made the whole thing a downer for me. All those advantages and you'd rather cruise to a victory over a lesser opponent? It's like the guy doesn't care people pay hard earned cash to watch him. Only purists really get off on these surgical performances. And if he won't open up against freaking Marquez, he damn sure won't fight this liberally in the future.
He has a killer instinct; but he's aired on the side of caution for years now. He can put his foot down and try to finish an opponent but he's content with making sure he doesn't get caught by a lucky shot to end his night because he went buck wild on somebody.
It would obviously make him more endearing to fans if he finishes more fights by really sitting on punches; but he's not about to change.
pbf is not lacking killer instict he dont have it at all ...
anyway his defense makes his fight for him ...

I think he's in love with his defense. He's not willing to trade being hit an extra couple times with getting his opponent out of there
It's like a form of perfectionism
Personally I think that could actually make him even harder to beat
yeah i think so too. u can hear it when he speaks about himself as a fighter too, he tales pride in being a pure boxer as compared to marquez and other mexicans who in general take pride in being warriors.

that defense was fvckin sublime...
what makes a fight between him & MP very interesting is that these fighters are polar opposites...
PBF got his D, MP has his offense...
PBF doesnt love to trade leather, MP is a sucker for it & so forth...
I'm starting to get the view that while Marquez may knock down easily, he actually has a good chin in terms of overall durability. Seems like every time we see him he winds up on the floor or pretty wobbled (Diaz with not much power), but he gets up every time and fights on.
I'm also getting the view that Floyd's power ain't all that at WW, but I guess that's fair enough given where he started (and had good power).
So to me it may be the other factors, rather than killer instinct. Also his natural caution, because a hurt fighter may throw a haymaker and catch you, turning it all around in an instant.
