cotto is the best middleweight. i mean he beat a guy with 90 year old knees who hid that he needed major knee surgery. how can he not be the best he's the lineal champ derp
correction.
Martinez has 100 year old knees. Even a Martinez with 90 year old knees, should have been able to beat Cotto.
I would tilt toward Hagler.
Due to the volume, and he also had good accuracy, wasn't the normal brawler or guy with power you knew, he could dab a little bit in both.
Would I bet on that fight?? No, I think it's too close to be put money on, can go eitherway.
I think his career the stain on his career was after his loss to Shawn Porter.
Porter in my opinion is a B-, maybe B+ fight at best, I hold him in lower regards to Mikey Garcia skill wise and just being a fighter in general.
So any loss after Porter is not a shock basically. Wouldn't be surprised if he lost to a Berto or Alexander either.
This is all sickening. And most of these people wouldn't even donate to the average bum on the street.
Call me a socialist but I don't believe in the lesser fortunate donating to the more fortunate EVER!
It is what it is though.
I was never to fond of Matthysse. I always felt he was a good B- maybe B+ fighter. Maybe around the ranks of Berto, Ortiz, Rios of the world.
Pacquiao should have been the favor regardless to me, old man or not
Wilder defintely has the Height, Length, Power and athletics to beat Prime Tyson, the only thing he is missing is a good jab.
If he had a jab even decent he could.
I'd say Floyd.
I mean just look at BoxingScene when was the last time Pacquiao had over two threads in a week.
And even then its normally involved with Mayweather.
You had Canelo winning 1 round vs Mayweather? I had it 12-0.
I had, Mosley winning 2 rounds, Guerrero winning 1 round, Cotto maybe 4 rounds, Maidana possibly 6,. Couldn't find 1 round to award Canelo.
After watching Floyd vs McGregor it was clear to me that Floyd is completely out of his prime!! He looked slow, sluggish, punches not as crisp and winded at times.
You can say it's because he didnt take McGregor serious, but no one beats farther time or age.
In my opinion he loses to every top Welterweight fighter at the moment.
1. Bigger Guys as he moved up to 140 and 147, had to be more careful.
2. Brittle hands, throwing less would mean less damage.
3. Defensive style change, instead of forcing counters, he changed to wait for the counter, slip in counters and shell up again.
4. Stamina might not be as good as a bigger guy, than it was when he was 130.
5. Older, He became older for one, so that automatically slows down your output.
6. richer, not as hungry as before, just willing to do what it takes to win.
Everyone keeps talking about freedom of speech and freedom of belief.
That does not mean that people have to agree with you when you use those freedoms however. They have just as much right to speech their disagreement.
Including companies. etc Nike
Basically it's a two way street.
I always kinda knew some of his fans were gay. Everyone has a breaking point, let me cover them for you.
1. Lose to Marquez, ok, Pac fans sucked it up and gave him another try
2. Lost to Mayweather, ok, Pac fans sucked it up or just pretended he won the fight with Mayweather
3. Dissing his Gay fans directly by labeling them as Animals
They had enough, this was the last straw.
Lol Hilarious.
Thread was created to honor a legend that is Pacquiao, but still ends up as a bashing Mayweather thread.
You atlest had your heart in the right place though Larry.
To be fair all Mayweathers seem not to know to be familiar with other boxers, or atlest pronouncing their names.
Just look at Roger, Floyd Sr and sometimes Jeff Mayweather.
Yes then, and Yes now.
I feel like Martinez landed the more thudding and hard shots, Williams was always excused of doing alot of pitty patty jabs or slaps.
And if we go by todays standards, those shots mean nothing.
Look at Lara Vs Canelo, Canelo Vs Trout. And where a very few might say May Vs Pac.
I don't know about Anyone else.
But I think Pacquiao could beat Deontay Wilder.
His boxing skills, speed are too good. He would land hard flush shots on Wilder and probably Ko him late.
It's crazy how Broner has become a easy opponent.
Just a few years ago he was the next Floyd.
He is the easiest option out of the possible Pac Opponents.
List goes like this
1. Crawford
2. Bradley
3. Khan
4. Postol
5. Matthysse
6. Broner
Should be entertaining if it happens.
Bradley Vs Pac 2.
There was just some much weirdness.
1. Bradley picking a date for the rematch prior to the fight.
2. Bob Arum talking about a rematch 2 months before the first fight took place.
3. The fishy judging
4. Already made up promotional advertisement less than hours after the fight.
It was like Bob knew TR had no where else to go while waiting on new talent to break through, so he pulled both Pac and Bradley to the side and give them the deal.
I actually thought he fought timid and scared the whole fight.
But then again let some fans tell it he always fights scared, even when he is walking down opponents
He was afraid of being humiliated, laughed at and embarrased.
Let's be frank, the ATG's fought with so much courage because they knew fans would still respect or love them.
Mayweather knew if he was too lose to Pacquiao he would never be able to forget it, maybe he had made himself the bad guy that's why.
Look what happened to Broner, when Broner lost he was getting the hate meant for big bro, and Mayweather saw that and was like hell no.
With Floyd and Manny, I think both resumes are very close without them even fighting.
Both fought Delahoya out of prime - CW for Pac
Both fought Mosley out of prime
Pac fought Cotto in prime - CW for Pac
Floyd fought bloated Marquez, Pac's fights with Marquez are seen to be more legit.
With the resumes being close enough to start with, and Mayweather getting a W over Manny, I would say it's safe to give Mayweather a slightly higher ATG status.
Frazier beat Ali, who Is held higher? Hearns beat Duran, who Is held higher? Holyfield beat Tyson, who Is held higher? Rahman beat Lewis, who Is held higher? That doesn't mean a thing. It Is about career accomplishments. Didn't you say In a previous post that a fighter cannot be defined by one performance? How exactly was an older Cotto a better win for Floyd than the younger version that Pacquiao destroyed?
If your hinting that Tyson is held higher in ATG status, than
I think to anyone who knows boxing.
Holyfield is held higher.
He has a much better resume than Tyson. Won 2 fights over Tyson.
Tyson has a BIGGER name, but better resume Holyfield.
Who he beat??
Paul Williams - a guy that many said that Mayweather, Pacquiao avoided when he was at 147.
Julio Chavez Jr - before he was exposed as being less talented than we believed, and while he was UNDEFEATED!!!
Kelly Pavlik - a good solid, MW, Lineal MW champ when Martinez beat him.
