You can see it in the fight and how he talks after..he bought into the media and the hype and believed in something that was never even present..His father even told him this, In life he fear things that are not even real. The mind works in mysterious ways, but once that confidence kicks in you overcome your fears and that is when greatness is made....Foreman also feared Frazier but once he overcame it we got a masterpiece....
Fear is not real and once a person realizes it they actually see how great they truly are in life, but as a fan and as the year ends i thought i would make this post just to clear the air. God bless you all and happy holidays
Aren't you the grown ex Felon who rides another mans dick? Must be used to it.
Just call what I did creative reporting after all he must have enjoyed the buzz he started showing some of his sparring. Plus we all do stupid **** when we're 15. You should know.
But why are you so angry at me?? what did i do to you? you attacked me

Yeah make Floyd threads. Or make threads about another fighter and Floyd. Keep up the good work. I hear there hiring at esb you should work there better environment.

Yes he was, but even Mike Tyson admitted he was scared, nothing wrong with fear.
What matters more than fear, is how you use it. If you use fear to work harder, that is good, if you become so scared that you aren't on your A game, that is bad.

Larry you spent literally years trying to convince yourself and others that Floyd wasn't afraid of Manny but now you had the epiphany he was?
Floyd wasn't afraid of Manny at all. He knew Manny presented certain intangibles that he hadn't dealt with but he wasn't afraid. Like Freddie Roach said, fighters don't get scared they get concerned.
My thoughts exactly lmao. Wtf is this **** thread, brah? Anyone looking at this objectively understands the politics and egos involved in making this fight happen. Fear had nothing to do with it.
Try a new joke..damn near everyone on here knows what i do for a living

Try a new thread subject, bich....or better yet just stop posting all together. You and trigger happy are bar none the biggest dumb*****s on BS
lol..so angry.....:poke:
He fought more tight and timid than I had ever seen him since probably the Oscar fight. He eventually loosened up, that's when he started landing those check left hooks.
Stop lying to your self those were check smacks he didn't step into it enough for it to be called a hook.
I think the fear was more so about losing rather than Pacquiao himself. He knew Pacquiao stood the greatest chance of taking his 0. He marketed that 0 too damn long and has made too much money off of it for him to lose to the guy everyone said he was scared of.
I think you make a great point Larry.

You are wrong, fear is indeed real. But fighters overcome their fear, just like little Floyd did.
I think Floyd ultimately gained enough confidence for this fight after Bradley II. He even said it himself that was the first time he actually watched an entire Pacquiao fight in a while and he wasn't impressed. And I don't blame him, Manny looked very ordinary that night. Ironically they started negotiating right after that fight (no matter what either team said, they were definitely negotiating mid 2014, which is why Floyd said he had a surprise for everyone next May when announcing the Maidana rematch).
I actually thought he fought timid and scared the whole fight.
But then again let some fans tell it he always fights scared, even when he is walking down opponents
He was afraid of being humiliated, laughed at and embarrased.
Let's be frank, the ATG's fought with so much courage because they knew fans would still respect or love them.
Mayweather knew if he was too lose to Pacquiao he would never be able to forget it, maybe he had made himself the bad guy that's why.
Look what happened to Broner, when Broner lost he was getting the hate meant for big bro, and Mayweather saw that and was like hell no.
Was Floyd in his prime? Both fighters were in the twilight of their careers. Double standard is what you're doing.
Its not really, because a fighter that fights a technical style will have a much greater longevity and slower decline than a fighter who fights a more physical aggressive style that relies on youth and athleticism.
Prime example. Roy Jones Jr.
Is he smart, yes... Did he rely on his athleticism almost exclusively? Yes... look how fast his fall from grace was.
Compare that to Hopkins, or Toney, or Marquez.
The more cerebral fighters last longer because they have tools to fall back on as their physical attributes are no longer extra ordinary.
Pacquiao was never going to match Floyd for skill. Pacquaio was a risk because he had some of the best legs to ever set foot in the ring, blazing fast hands, power, and punches from all angles.
Without his legs he was just another guy. The legs are the first thing to go in a fighter.
So yes they both were in their twilight, but Pacquiao was much further gone.
The pressure got to him at some point, that's my belief. The magnitude of the fight was so huge, for a moment leading to the fight, these two guys we're actually bigger than the sport itself. Imagine that...
I think it's the thought of the unknown and the fact people across the globe actually buying into the hype that Pacquiao could actually gave Mayweather his first official loss, I'd say it probably crossed Floyds's mind and realized everything he worked for could go up in flame.
